Accessory that goes well with any hairstyle, not too much, and even the enchantment. Very nice

    Hi Jigalag23!

After seeing your "110%" comment, I started wearing  "Hair Rose - Lovely Blue R3".  It's very beautiful!

I have a request for something that I have no idea if it is possible, or whether you would want to add it if it was possible.

raiden917raiden has a mod called "Ordinary Girly Nails (OGN) - CBBE by Elliezrah" on Nexus at
    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/49495

Her nails are also equipped as an armor slot (ring).  One style of her nails "glow", like the ones I wear, "OGN (Glow - Red)", that seem a little brighter in the daylight but actually do glow red in the dark.

Is there a chance that you could make a "glow" version of your "Lovely Rose" or all of your flowers??

    Thanks!!

      Hi WhoNose,

I'm guessing they used something called a glow map in their .nif files (at least that's what they're called in FO4). Theoretically, we would think it's possible to add such an effect to any model. It's nothing we've ever done before and I hadn't intended to make any major additions to the mod.

However, my wife said she's willing take a look at the mod you mentioned to see if she can figure out how to do it. It will probably primarily come down to a question of how difficult it is to make a glow map for an object from scratch. If it's something she can accomplish she said she'd look into adding them to the flowers. I'm guessing we'd probably implement the glowing flowers as an option using a FOMOD, which is also something we haven't done before.

So long story short, we'll look into it but can't make any promises until we do a little investigating. :)

Hey there, sorry I meant to provide an update a few days ago but forgot. So based on what my wife found, it looks like there's maybe two different ways to achieve the glow effect. There does appear to be a place for glow maps in CK, but she said she needs to play with that more to see if she can figure them out. The other option is what the creator of the finger nails mod did, which was using some sort of drop down option in nifscope on each .nif file called 'emissive' something. In my wife's brief bit of experimenting she found that seemed to work for some flowers pretty well (like the blue lovely rose), but others (like the red rose) it just made them look brighter rather than glowly, which is part of the reason she wants to try to figure out the glow maps route if she can.

She's been away for the past weekend so there hasn't been any progress (she does all the technical work and problem solving while I mostly am responsible for the tedious CK work and managing the publishing on Nexus). In truth, this will probably take us several weeks to figure out and get into a state fit to be published. If you really want a specific flower to glow right now you could try using the 'emissive' option in the .nif. You would need the program Nifscope in order to open the .nif files (the ones found in the meshes folder). I don't know where it was in there but it sounded like it was just a simple drop down menu.

If getting and using nifscope is a little too technical for your skills (honesty, it would be beyond mine were it not for my wife), then the other thing you could do to help is see if you can find any other mods out there that have glowing armor/clothing items. If you could PM us or reply here with links to those, that would give her a few more samples to look at and hopefully one of them might use glow maps or provide more insights on the emissive option. She didn't have much luck trying to find guides on glow map use in skyrim, but the option is there in CK so it must be possible somehow.

Sorry we don't have more/better news for you at the moment. Based on our experience with modding Bethesda games, this will probably take quite a bit of time fighting with the programs until she can figure out how to make everything work right.

No this is great and since I'm currently using the blue lovely rose and already have the latest version of nifscope I got for some reason last year, I'm gonna try to figure out how to duplicate your wife's results.

"...see if you can find any other mods out there that have glowing armor/clothing items."
I'm on it and will PM you with any results!

      Thanks!

@Jigalag23 - Your wife should post them anyways. I think it would be neat to see some preliminary ideas and give feedback, it might look completely different when viewed through an ENB or ReShade Preset.

      Excellent mod, endorsed.

@Jigalag23 I don't have much yet, but I did find this that does indeed make at least one circlet that I tried glow a little at night in case this helps any:

The mod is " Slof's Posh Clothes SSE"
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26922

And the only file I downloaded from there was: "Slof's Shiny Glowy Circlets"

With it not installed, at dark with facelight turned off, and a generic circlet equipped, "copper and ruby circlet", there was no glow.
But with it installed there was a glow.  (not as much as my "OGN (Glow - Red)", but it for sure did glow)

OK, I tweaked the lovely roses with nifscope.

here are the pics of the red and blue lovely roses and a screenshot of the changes I made in nifscope.
      https://imgur.com/a/i4c4Gt3

IMO kinda washed out at night but at least more visible than with no tweak.  And looks pretty decent in daylight.

Maybe it can be tweaked further to sharpen the images at night??

@KainThePheonix, well at this point there's virtually nothing to publish.  We tend to do separate temporary files when experimenting so if we mess something up then we don't actually screw up our files. Since we can't delete files we post on Nexus, we'd much rather wait until we have a final product. Also, good point regarding ENBs. I don't use ENBs, but it's probably going to be impossible to guarantee whatever we work out will look the same under an ENB. Guess that's just going to have to be another caveat to the mod, since I'm not aware of any way around that.

@WhoNose, thanks for the screenshots. That looks about the same result my wife got with the emissive option. She got back yesterday and started to take a look at stuff right before I went to bed (she's a night owl). Not sure what all she may have accomplished, but before I turned in she did look at the circlets and it sounds like that mod achieved its effect using 'specular color' (or something to that effect) in nifscope (the option had a little swirly color wheel by it). Seemed to make the colors more intense so maybe going in the opposite direction as that mod did with that element might make the color less intense/washed out? Might be worth checking out.

Oh, also I was apparently I was wrong earlier when I said the red one just got brighter rather than glowed. She told me that was the result of her first attempt with using a glow map, not the emissive option. Color was apparently fine with emissive. You know, not counting the washout look. I'm still hoping she'll figure out the glow maps. I really don't want to use the emissive option because that would mean I would need to make a whole new nif for every single flower and position and that... that would like double the size of the mod (which matters a lot for people with less hard drive space). Plus glow maps would be a lot faster for me to implement into a final product. But again, she's got to figure them out first.

She mentioned last night she was going to look at the vanilla gloomblossem, which does have a glowing aura around it. I assume that would be the kind of effect you had in mind? Stay tuned I guess...

yeah, thanks, I'll definitely check out tweaking specular color (and specular strength).

yeah, the effect of a gleamblossom sure seems good.

      Thanks

OK I did a whole new setup with IMHO Great results!  (on red, blue and purple....white and yellow didn't work at all)

      https://imgur.com/a/4Yz6Jno

This is quite different from my previous attempt and I got the idea from a new mod posted today that had as a requirement "Chinese JiangShi - CBBE-TBD SE" at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/40092

Well "Chinese JiangShi - CBBE-TBD SE" has hands that have glowing nails, so I looked up the nif's in nifscope and used their setup with some tweaking of my own. (Emissive colors are all 0's)

I agree, those do look better! Nice find, I'll let my wife know.

We haven't really had time to work on it since my last post. We're really busy at the moment scrambling to finish up some outside house projects before winter hits (temps are dropping fast now where I live).

However, at this point this where we are at with research on our end. Based on the different things we can do for glow effects (whether it's an aura around the object, changing the color directly, or a combination of the two) it will require a separate nif file for every flower color/position. For frame of reference, in the original mod we only needed to make 1 nif per position per flower each for the human/elf/orc, khajiit, and argonian heads. The different colors were applied to the flowers using texture sets in CK. So far everything my wife has found through testing and looking at other mods would suggest there's no way to properly apply glow effect through CK. It has to be done in nifscope so each race/flower/position/color will require it's own separate nif.

Long story short, it will be possible, but it will take time and the end file size will be very large (due to the high poly nature of 3 of the 4 nifs. Not much we can do to fix that, unfortunately). We figure that's up to the end user if they are willing to use that much hard drive space for the glowing ones. Right now my wife is trying to figure out how to make things look acceptable (by her standards). I'm thinking the latest testing you did might help in that regard. Once she's satisfied she'll turn it over to me for the long tedious task of making all the nifs then setting everything up in CK. I'll keep you posted on any progress.

If you're referring to the main model featured in the screenshots, that's my main character. I believe I created her starting with a Breton present possibly from 'A huge racemenu preset collection' mod and made a bunch of personal tweaks. I didn't model her with any specific person in mind, it's just how she turned out.

We made this like 110% for the Lovely Rose, the other flowers were just nice bonuses we wanted to include so the mod wasn't just a single flower. I was really surprised no one else made something like this with roses since that's typically such a popular flower associated with beauty.

Anyway, I'm glad you and everyone else are enjoying it so far. =)

Both the left and the right flowers look really great in my hair!

I lost my elbows that I liked but I like the left flower as much and I was able to enchant the flower exactly with the same properties as my elbow so even trade!

I lost my earrings that I liked that were cool looking and SMP, but to tell the truth I couldn't see them because of my hair, and I was able to enchant the flower exactly with the same properties as my earrings, so a nice improvement!

(maybe someday I will try to tweak my elbows to a different slot, but no big deal if I don't)

Thanks for the great looking mod and the nice choices!
