When I rechecked this part of the patch and conflicts, I found the patch to be incomplete. Specifically, the conflicts occur between Impact Data Sets, which control the impacts corresponding to different materials. The sound mod adds many impacts that vanilla doesn't have for different spells on various materials to enrich the auditory experience.
You can place the sound mod after the DSI, but you will lose the unique visual effects of the DSI mod on snowy surfaces. Therefore, what should be done is to distribute the DSI effects to the new impacts added by the sound mod. So, I have improved the patch. If you are facing this issue, I hope this will be useful to you.
Note: if you are using Arctic Frost Effects Redux, make sure the Arctic Frost Effects Redux ISC Patch wins the conflict. Note: The difference between PSI and DSI is only in the shininess within the impact data. I believe the difference is not significant. When using PSI, you can still achieve parallax effects with the DSI patch. PSI patch is just more faithful to the author’s original vision.
Thanks for your work! I have a few questions, if my setup for example is DSI-PSI-AOS-ISC, do I only need the PSI ISC AOS Patch from your zip file or all of them? Also, do I still need to have the original patch enabled?
I understand what you are saying but for the added sounds on material, I think he did the right choice
For example, in the data set MAGShock02ImpactSet there is a new sound for the skin skeleton impact that uses MAGShockBoltFleshImpact, but every time this sound is used in Immersive Sounds Compendium, DSI uses the sound MAGShockImpact02 which is a vanilla one, that is modified indeed, but I still feel that the ISC version is better
That's why I think this patch did that right, but I may be miss one case where it wasn't the same configuration
In any case, there were still some loss of information on this patch, so I decided to make a more modular and closer to the orignal mods in this mod Deadly Spell Impact - Patches
Does AOS still need a patch for deadly spell impacts? I use just the two and xedit is showing conflicts, but with Sound Record Distributor these should not matter right?
I'm curious too. I needed to load my Arctic and its patches below for it to work with DSI so I also have the FrostMeshes ISC patch at the very end which may not be great? Idk.
