Update - support for 2.4 version of 3BA conversion. CBBE got an update - I will check if it still needs removing rim lighting. And I will eventually get to updating 3BA version.
No Rim Lighting in optional files. I haven't tested it, but author is trustworthy so I'm willing to bet it works. Once I personally test it that it works in all cases I will take down my modpage to not confuse people.
Could be wrong but OP might be referring to a check box or some sort within BodySlide for the rim lighting, rather than the download from here or the official CBBE optional files.
I am curious though if rim lighting from other mods that aren't covered in this or the optional file in the cbbe directory is something that can be changed with BodySlide or if it has to be changed through other means.
It appears that the optional "No Rim Lighting" file in CBBE's downloads works, however, it doesn't seem to contain CC content. There are only BodySlide folders for non-AE vanilla and its DLC. So what you've shared here doesn't seem entirely obsolete.
CBBE has most of 3BA sliders, so you don't really need 3BA conversion. 3BA has advantage of more detailed "strategic areas", but its irrelevant for vanilla armors.
Whether this mod is updated or not seems to be unnecessary in the recent update of CBBE, mainly because the original mod 3BA Vanilla Clothes and Armor lost its meaning
Yep it looks to be finally fixed. I will check out how it looks in game, and check if 3BA conversion is truly obsolete, but generally prepare for this modpage to go hidden.
While I'm not sure if it's the root of the issue of this not working sometimes, a potential workaround if you're using NAT weahter is to disable subsurface scattering in its settings. (The spell is in the alteration section)
Is this obsolete for the latest version of the 3BA conversion? I checked a few meshes and it doesn't look like they have the rim lighting tag that needs removing.
I started to get really bad rim lighting after installing ELFX Shadows. Originally, I thought that mod was the issue, but the rim lighting only occurs when both that andCBBEare present. When I downloaded the CBBE Vanilla Armors - No Rim Lighting it had no effect, didn't fix anything. However, when I tried the CBBE Vanilla Armors - No Rim Lighting - Prebuilt Meshes (Curvy) it worked and the rim lighting was gone but of course the body types were then changed. I also recall rim lighting outside, but definitely not as bad as when inside and I didn't test anything outside so I'm not sure which mod is in conflict there. I hope this information can help you get the other files working properly the way you want them to. :)
Yeah, I need to learn how to use bodyslide haha, I'll probably just roll with the curvy option from your fixes until you have the time and desire to see why the other download isn't quite working. :)
I noticed severe rim lighting when play testing with CBBE so I downloaded this but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Robes and other armor/clothing still glow brightly just like in the pictures. Only using CBBE.
Weird. I will look into it once I finally update it for newer version. Bodyslide version definitely works though. Unless something (Lux or ENB or something) got updated and this fix no longer works.
OK, so I did some tinkering, and I believe I have found the problem (On my end, at least. Totally forgot this was a thing that I had). It seems that using this in tandem with Modernize - Vanilla Version SMP doesn't work. Here's a comparison before and after adding that mod:
Edit: I read through Modernize's posts and a few related patches and it appears this has been a longstanding issue for them. So turns out recent changes weren't the culprit, that was just my impulsive mod downloading djfgjfghh

Found it, changing it for EVERY nif is such a pain in the ass, if only there was a way to script it lol
