I watched it in ssedit and I believe it just choose which grass is used, when they have same reference. Now I can't say if updated is needed, since the two mod has been updated and other addons like summer tundra from Folkangr or ENB complex grass have more recent update too... Could be good to have an answer from @ModpocalypseGaming
Happened to see this comment while I am patching my mod list in SSEEdit so I thought I would contribute this information: If you have Origins of Forest after Folkvangr, you will still get 95% of Folkvangr. However, for 3 of the Pine Forest grass types, Folkvangr replaces the vanilla grass with 9 different grass types. If Origins loads after Folkvangr, it reverts those 9 grass types to the vanilla 3 grasses, plus it adds some bracken, a columbine bush, and a berry plant. So, in the pine forest areas, you won't see those Folkvangr grasses. But you probably won't notice because Origins of Forest is so overwhelmingly dominant visually. This patch incorporates Vanilla, Folkvangr and Origins of Forest grass types for those 3 pine forest grasses - 15 variants in total. The only thing you miss out on is the columbine bush, but I made myself a patch and included it as well. "Columbine is a short-lived herbaceous perennial with airy foliage and colorful blooms said to resemble jester's caps."
I had this issue because I had converted my Folkvangr and Origins of the forest to ESL format and the patch is only for ESP format, reverting both of them back to esp fixed my infinite load problem.
