I think my favorite part about the people trying to remove anything LGBTQ from Elder Scrolls is how against canon it is thanks to, well most of the series to be honest but especially ESO. Gays be all over the place in ESO that is to say nothing of the absolute treasure of a character that is Alchemy.
Gay people have been in Elder Scrolls since Daggerfall. I find it really hilarious that people have a mental breakdown and feel like they need to remove the gay stuff from Skyrim.
I mean, a ton of mods are against canon? People are allowed to alter their game however they wish, doesn't matter if something is canon or not. Macho Man dragon replacers and Thomas the Tank Engine mods are not canon either, yet some people use them. Same with the Bear replacer for Spiders. Not everyone plays with lore-friendliness in mind.
Oh sure but there's a difference between modding Randy Savage into your game and the response to a single dead gay NPC being "I gotta make him straight"
Yes, a mod was uploaded that removed same-sex marriage option from the game while wearing the Amulet of Mara, and another mod author went a step further and uploaded mods that remove any form of same-sex relationship and retcon a canon one in Solstheim.
You can imagine what happened next. Which was probably the goal of said uploads.
