I have an even bigger problem with the bold 'haircut' but this mod will have to do. And you are perfectly right about one thing: those two haircuts are a curse, they must be. Unfortunately though, there are even more vanilla cursed haircuts but I hope you'll make more mods to replace those too.
Very well done, but what's exactly wrong with the hair? It is a high fantasy / medieval setting after all, messy / shaggy hair would be the easiest to maintain / fits better tone-wise (in my opinion at least) compared to a very very modern haircut.
They just look ugly (the meshes and textures, the way they are styled) I'd like to see better short hair that are more lore friendly and yet look nice/realistic, but I haven't found them yet (maybe I'll learn to make them myself someday) xD
Completely understandable. I think both hairstyles look very well done, by the way! Both (especially the 2nd) look amazing, so don't be hard on yourself. :)
I have more than 600 and never had any issue with this and no need to start a new game. I use Face discoloration fix that prevents the dark face bug for NPCs that use the vanilla hair. Even those added by mods usually have vanilla morphs, this mod simply regenerates the facegen when some discrepancy occours and the NPCs will still look the same as before. The only issue might be with custom sculpted NPCs but I assume that those will also use better hairstyles because why waste time to make a pretty face if then you apply those ugly hair? LOL
I liked the idea and tried it out. Unfortunately, my men have black faces then. Also the hanged men of gallows of skyrim have black faces, although GoS is loaded after your mod. I had to uninstall it. :( If you have a solution or any advice, I will reinstall. I haven't found any wrong entry in xEdit, so I couldn't localize the reason.
The change of hair will cause trouble with all the NPCs faces that are already generated with the vanilla hair (especially the modded ones), a quick way to fix it is to re-generate the facegen with Face discoloration fix. Honestly I didn't think someone would actually use those hair in a mod XD
