If you think the hair has too much erratic motion (can vary with playstyle, animation/movement mods, or just framerate), try increasing the linearDamping parameter (found near the beginning of the xml files). This will make the hair more sluggish. It goes to 1.0, so try values like 0.999, 0.9999, etc.
In general, if you smash your movement keys like a madman the hair will go ballistic. I'm ok with that. After all, crazy movement of the hair is only a natural response to crazy movement of the body. What would be a dealbreaker to me is if it caused the hair to get stuck in weird positions, but that never happens. At least I never managed it, and I've tried pretty hard. The hair always settles in a natural way.
I think ive probably gotten it to appear in the hair slider at the far right side of the slider options, but it crashes my game when it gets to that point. I have the faster HDT-SMP mod installed along with this.
Hi, when I wear helmets with this hair, it still shows the hair (it should be the hairline only), it looks like this, does anyone else have this problem? edit: its the same with all of your hair mods but not with other SMP hair mods
I love this so much, I've been using it for a while on my player character, but does anyone know if it's NPC friendly? I tried applying it to an NPC version of the character but the game crashes when I enter the cell he's in, not sure if it's the hair or something I did. Just a minor thing I'm wondering, thank you for my favourite hair mod!
Hey, I really love your work!! I have a question- I'm trying to make my character look like a specific goth musician and this hair's length and form fits the bill, but my hair colour would need to be red with black strands. So I'm looking to retexture hairlong.dds myself (assuming that's the texture that this mod uses). But if I were to directly change that file, it'd affect all NPCs with hair that uses hairlong.dds. So what could I do? Would it be possible to edit this mod's .esp file to use a specific hair .dds file? And ofc are you alright with me editing your work in that manner (for personal use)? Thank you
I would edit the NIF to use a different texture. Texture paths are located in BS(Dynamic)TriShape > BSLightingShaderProperty > BSShaderTextureSet. You can override textures in the ESP as well, but I think that's more work and only really meaningful if you want different-coloured versions of the same model.
I really like this work and wonder if you might consider creating a male hair style with Physics that resembles Geralt's hair styles? There was one that was created for Skyrim Legendary Edition and the hair resembles the Nord Male hair with the 2 braids but was shorter than the hair on your other file.
Thanks really much for making this physics enabled mods jg1. I left endorsements and kudos for a excellent job. Thank you!
Edit: The reason I ask is I have really long hair that is curly and resembles Geralt's hair (not bad for an older gentlemen if I do say so myself ) The hair in this file is longer than mine by maybe 6 to 7 inches.
I love this hair! Unfortunately it is clipping through *parts* of my character. Is that an error on the collisionbox of my character, is there a way to adjust the hair or is it supposed to only fit one figure?
No, the collision box comes with the hair and is a predefined shape, similar to the vanilla body. It can be replaced separately, but that's somewhat complicated.
A simple edit you can make that might be good enough: Open long01.xml (any simple text editor will do). Near the end you will find a parameter named "margin". Increasing this number will expand the collision box.
