What should the extention be? You can still use the audio, just make your own omod/ mod manager file and replace the ingame audio. If the Dog audio is called differently, rename these audio files first.
Does anyone but me use the Preview File Contents feature? This mod has a carelessly misnamed animation file: dog_spice_sit_bark.hkxx The extension is wrong, and the author never fixed it.
You'd have to unpack the archive, rename the file correctly, and then repack it again. Mod managers probably won't then recognize it as the original mod any more, not that it would be any big loss at this point given that it's been left untouched for four years. Given this careless mistake, it's probably advisable to run it through Cathedral Assets Optimizer as well, to make certain that no other issues were overlooked like failing to convert 32-bit hkx files to 64-bit.
I tried putting your mod in with game mechanic changes and NPC appearance changes and it's not working, I even put it at the bottom of the LO and still won't work, I really want to try this mod and get it to work, any suggestions as to what category would be best suited to help it work? Please and thank you
Thanks for the mod! It works fine in my game and the huskies are beautiful. Unfortunately, they are all much bigger than the vanilla dogs, which becomes a bit annoying when you use them as companions. As a fix, I used Jaxon's Positioner to change Meeko's size. Now she is perfect.
Thanks so much, just what I was looking for! I used Better Dogs by Bellyache in Oldrim which did the same thing, ported it myself but it resulted in the dogs being completely STIFF and un-interactable. Made my own mod just changing Dogs into DG Huskies but must've messed up somehow b/c it made the game immediately crash. I can't stand those hideous vanilla mutts. You're my hero if this works >.< :) OK good news and bad news. It did change Vigilance to Husky but I can't make him follow me. I purchased him, and "Talk Vigilance" comes up when I activate, but no dialogue. This is supposed to happen right? Lol, been a while since I ever recruited a dog. He didn't follow automatically as I was going away either, just lay down in the grass... I have no other dog mods.
Doesn't work for me at all. Just checked Vigilance at Markarth and he is STILL a vanilla dog after installing this. Is it just me? Or is this mod outdated/broken? Edit: Fixed, it just had be to below invincible dogs in my LO
It would be interesting a version without the improvement of statistics, options 2, 3 and 4 of the description:
2. Dogs will only bark while sitting (i.e when you interact with them). This applies to all dogs.
3. When they do bark, the sound is quieter and lower pitched. This applies to all dogs.
4. Dogs will be totally silent (except footsteps) while you are in stealth mode - no barks, whines, scratches, panting, sniffing, etc. Once again, this applies to all dogs.
The statistics do not matter, but those 3 options I would like to have for dogs, I do not carry dogs because they are very heavy xD but this would revive my desire to bring a dog, especially if it is a Huskie!
