NOTES Bruma map this time, more precise geographically and more detailed than good old Duncan's Bruma map. Drawn by well-known to FWMF users Mirhayasu. I love it a lot personally, hope you will enjoy it too and will support author in the way you see fit.
more news - FOMOD was uploaded today on main FWMF page, it has all FWMF versions, patches for it and Flat Map Markers for AE/SE with complete config files for all worldspaces we covered with maps so far, so it should be way easier to install everything properly. do me a favor tho - if you encounter any issues with it, report in FWMF comments or in discord please, I did my best to check everything out, but I may have missed smth anyway.
CHANGE LOG 01.02.2023 - 1.71 - map texture compressed to BC1. 03.02.2023 - 1.72 - background replaced with fitting, sorry for frequent minor updates. 1.8 - reworked mesh (real background nitrishape was added), fixed vanilla map visibility issue on northern map's edge (requires FOV setting 80+ in FWMF FOMOD), added UW and higher FOV support, upscaled both map texture and background to 8K, added SoS support. Size increased to 39Mb. 1.8.1 - compressed to BC1 (lossless).
For some reason, when I'm in Bruma and open this map it freezes the game. Using with FWMF fantasy map preset and on 1.5.97. Do you know what may be the cause? I've followed steps on the main mod page as well for settings.
never encountered a single freeze with FWMF. wrong flat map markers version picked in FOMOD? I honestly have no clue what even in theory can cause freeze beside skse stuff, but I haven't touch 1.5.97 for a while.
i cant get this map to work for me, im pretty sure its just not loading as it just shows the 3d vanilla map from a very zoomed out distance.
i thought it might be a seasons of skyrim issue but you have the AUT SUM WIN SPR files, i have FWMF and this mod loaded last and after dyndolod but still no go - am i missing something, i really want to use this map as without it my map is basically unusable
im positive i have, FMWF is last, FlatMapMarkersSSE.json has BSheartland enabled
"Not compatible - any map mods except FMWF." could i have clarification on what this means - does it mean that it wont work if there are other map mods for bruma or just in general cause i do have other map mods for most worlds - Skyrim, solstheim, apocrypha, etc.
I'm not asking if you installed baka world map fov, I'm asking if you set proper fov value. same for the second part, vertical view in MCM, not worldspace whitelisting during FOMOD installation.
then you have issues with LODs. either there is lod32 output in a mod list below FWMF, or in Overwrite. second possible culprit - incompatible mod in the list.
someone knows of a map for skyrim and solstheim that goes well with this one? i haven't found one for those 2 locations that's made by the same author as this one
The only thing I can say is that I experienced random crashes when opening the map in Bruma several times (and others two)
Since I switched to another paper map of Bruma I didn't have any... but It will need more testing to be sure. And in a big modlist, it's complicated to pinpoint where crashes are coming from exactly
In any case, it always better to not have these errors from a general stability perspective, so I just wanted to report them to you just in case it went under your radar
meshes for this map and Duncan's are identical, plugins too, basically. texture can't cause CTD occasionally, it either works or doesn't. I may be very wrong and I don't want to blame anyone, but my guess Bruma has fundamental issues with how its worldspace made. I've encountered tons of technical limitations and issues while making map for it.
just for clarification - FWMF doesn't interact with markers in any way except Flat Map Markers inside FWMF FOMOD is placing them at the same height as paper map mesh. which marker icons to choose isup to CoMAP usually.
technically it is the only map without background (this worldspace has a lot of other limitations map-wise, like camera settings), so map and mural textures are just combined. but I got you, will try to replace it with smth more cyrodiilic. if you have candidates without copyrights/Bethesda made (2k+ size), share the link.
Erm.... Can someone please tell me why "Beyond Skyrim Bruma" mod is not required for "Beyond Skyrim Bruma Paper Map"? I mean that no bruma users will see this one on bruma page, etc.
make sure in a process of installation FWMF fomod you have picked Flat Map Markers for your version of Skyrim (AE/SE) and whitelisted Bruma map (option "All Skyrim maps, DLCs and Add-Ons"). or you can whitelist markers in Bruma by adding its worldspace block to FlatMapMarkersSSE.json file:

ignore half the map having holes, i think its a dyndolod issue idk

Is that normal?

Have a nice day
thank you for reporting the issue ofc.
The Bruma city is represented by this stupid gray circle no matter what I do to fix it.
EDIT: Nevermind. I fixed it. Turns out, SkyHUD is not compatible with the map markers in the Bruma mod.
