Important: When you install this mod, you will end up with one file, two if you also use CNO with non-Nordic UI markers. If these files get overwritten - and they might, given how Skyrim interfaces work - they will not work. Make absolutely sure that nothing else is overwriting hudmenu.swf in particular.
Also check out the other sticky if you still can't see markers and are using CNO.
YEARS. I'm getting old. Are you using Compass Navigation Overhaul or any other UI altering mods? CNO especially has a setting that overrides this mod, the correct values are shown in one of the screenshots and a pinned comment.
i started the game with Nordic UI and no patches or anything else related to Nordic UI, it's still like this, i guess it's Nordic UI itself, time to move on i guess
Hi there, there seems to be some kind of conflict between this and Less Intrusive Hud, I'm always stuck with a default crosshair even if I've selected one of the other options. Tried loading it after Less Intrusive Hud but then it's Edit Mode doesn't function correctly. I'm also using Colorful Nordic UI Markers along with it's Less Intrusive Hud patch and it's overriding your mod but I assume that's just because of the colored icons. I'm very much a beginner when it comes to modding and I'm sure it's something simple and I'll probably kick myself if I get the issue resolved but I would appreciate any help or advice you could give.
If it helps at all I tried another mod that just replaces Nordic UI's crosshair with a dot and it didn't work either.
If you are overwriting my mod, there is basically nothing left. That's the disadvantage of having only a single hud menu file in the game. Personally, I could never get Less Intrusive Hud to work in my tests. Someone requested an invisible cross hair a while back for compatibility, does that work for you when you let my mod overwrite Less Intrusive Hud?
hi, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, but the compas map markers are still black diamonds instead of the blacked out locations. I attached my load order https://imgur.com/a/RV5aRcB
Strange, that certainly looks correct. Does something change when you disable and enable the mod? Are you using any other mod that could touch the compass like Compass Gameplay Overhaul?
It works fine, but it put back the crosshair that I hide with the Less Intrusive HUD. I use LIH and NordicUI together, with the patch, and it works fine, but since this mod needs to be after them, the crosshair ends up coming back and there is no way to hide it with LIH, for that I would need to change the order, which would make your mod stop working. I use this mod to hide the Cooldown of the Shouts that are on the compass and it works, as long as it is after the NordicUI and LIH patch, but then the crosshair reappears.
Like this:
If your mod is last in the loading order, it hides the shout's Cooldown (as I want) but the crosshair reappears.
If it is before the patch (NordicUI + LIH) the crosshair disappears (as I want), but the shout's Cooldown appears.
I need a way to restore the compass (and your mod does this) without restoring the crosshair. There could be an option in FOMOD of ''NONE'' when choosing the crosshair, like there is in the other options.
That's a good suggestion, I'll check it out. If you'd like and have the time, you can follow the instructions in the spoiler section of my description for now, but if you can bear it for a few days I'll have a look at it later today/this week. I hope my working directories survived moving to a new pc.
The new version is up. I could never get LIH to work in my setup, or rather it always showed a crosshair after its initial setup finished. Maybe that was because I tried to force it into an existing save file. But my new update removes the crosshair completely. Sneak eye still works, but aiming and (follower) interaction have no crosshair with that option.
It worked here. I got the result I wanted. Since LIH is above in my load order, I'm still limited to a few edits, but it turned out the way I want. I'll keep both versions of yours in the modlist, but only one active at a time, one for when I want crosshair and another for when I don't. I think it's really complicated to get everything the way we want when we use a dozen mods just for the HUD. Thank you very much for your attention and for taking the time to make the change.
You're welcome. Have you checked out Contextual Crosshair? That might give you better control over when you want the crosshair on without switching files.
I really appreciate your recommendation and I followed it. I liked the result. I had already seen this mod but never used it because I never use crosshair, but it was actually convenient to use it. Hi, I really like that mod and i wanted to use it with TrueHUD and Compass Navigation Overhaul and Less Intruside HUD, although I don't seem to get anything working but the level UI and loading icon working. After some testing, with nothing but Nordic UI Interface Overhaul enabled, the compass is gone, the stamina/etc UI is the same as default from Skyrim, and my loading screens are black screens (while I have a mod higher in load order that changes them).
So I'm left confused, there is no MCM menu I can't tweek anything, I tried removing Less Intruside HUD but it doesn't cut it, I play on GOG 1.6.1179 if that's anything.
Make sure my mod does not get overwritten (lightning symbol with green plus sign). The single interface file I offer (as well as the CNO patch if you don't use Nordic UI markers) need to have priority in order to work. The white lightning symbol means that everything in the mod gets overwritten. On the same note, it's kinda weird that SkyHUD gets completely overwritten unless you have a newer version installed further down, you might want to check that out.
Thanks for the fast reply. After many try and retry, I switched mods load orders and installed some other mods (Dear Diary Dark Mode and CoMAP), which seems to have fixed most issues, now my compass shows, shows distance with objectives, is also the right colour I wanted, only thing that is not working seems to be the black loading screens. What is strange and I noticed just minutes ago, is during a loading screen, the loading screen flashed to show what was suppose to be shown, just before fading back to the game, at least, most is working.
From what I can see, my mod still gets completely overwritten, but if it works for you anyway, maybe you don't need it then. If you double click a mod and go to the conflicts tab, you can see which files are overwriting or getting overwritten by which mod.
Vortex has conflict resolution options, whenever you install a mod that contains file(path)s you already have, it will ask you to order them. The last loaded files will be the ones that are kept. So you either have a "There are unsolved file conflicts" dialogue open, or you can click on the icon in the dependencies column. Make sure to load my mod after anything else (select "load after" for every conflict).
I'm doing this a bit from memory, I haven't used Vortex for modding Skyrim in a while. Hope this helps!
Hey does anyone know this problem I have been having, I've been using Nordic UI with Skyhud, True Hud, More HUD, Nordic ish, Compass Navigation Overhaul with Nordic Skin and Quickloot and all the times i use them my compass resets back to Default. I have googled about this issue and seen videos of people having the Nordic Ui Compass and have similar mods and I still don't understand why i'm having this issue.
Make sure my hudmenu.swf and CNO's Nordic Skin compass.swf are not overwritten by anything else, that should do the trick. If you are using non-NORDIC UI compass markers, the option will lead you to install a CNO patch, that comes with a modified version of CNO's Nordic Skin, load that one after the original file then.
I have never used Quickloot, though, but I don't see any files that should interfere.
Hellooo, I'm having an issue with crosshair - at first, the dot crosshair worked perfectly, but after launching the game again, the crosshair reverted back to vanilla one - both normally and in sneak. For the love of god I cannot find out why this is happening.
I could imagine the culprit being either TrueHUD or Infinity UI. I know with IUI, it should be possible to replace specific UI elements with a higher priority than the hudmenu.swf file, but I don't think there is a mod that actually takes advantage of that. And TrueHUD does similar things iirc, but it does not touch crosshairs.
I just updated to the newest version of IUI and tried to play with TrueHUD, and as long as my mod is the last one loading hudmenu.swf, the crosshair works fine, even after reloading saves.
Yes, this was exactly the culprit. I have not realised that your mod was not the last one to load hudmenu.swf, hence why it did not work. So thank you very much for your time!

The "?" seems to be broken or something, but the normal icons can appear if you edit the ini file found in Compass Navigation overhaul
Change ; Show/hide undiscovered map markers: 0 = hidden markers, 1 = visible markers
bShowUndiscoveredLocationMarkers=1
; Show "?" marker instead of the location marker: 0 = normal marker, 1 = "?" marker
bUndiscoveredMeansUnknownMarkers=0
This made them appear for me and it worked for a friend of mine, so maybe it will for those of you looking for a solution.
Edit: That first line obviously has no java script in there, but for some reason nexus changes the line so ??? but you get the idea.

idk which Nordic UI mods/patch broke this :( ,

(I've also disabled Less Intrusive HUD as it's incompatible with "Dear Diary Dark Mode")
I cannot for the life of me make the compass work, i just get the default one.
Any help?

I'm using what I consider a basic UI list:
Sky UI
MCM Helper
SkyHUD
UI Extensions
Infinity UI
True HUD
moreHUD
moreHUD - Inventory Edition
NORDIC UI
NORDIC UI - Better Scroll Bar
NORDIC UI - Better Scroll Bar - Crafting menu
NORDIC UI - Miscellaneous Patches
NORDIC UI - Compass Markers Restored
NORDIC UI - Markers
Good suggestion is playing with priorities in MO2, which I will try and defo let you know.
EDIT: Sorting the above mentioned mods and putting them as highest priority fixed the issue, so thank you very much for pointing this out!
