    The Nemesis/Pandora patch "Elden Counter - Vanilla Behaviour Patch" completely kills "running power attacks".

    I was able to 100% isolate this issue down to that patch which when enabled no longer lets you do those.

    I'm running into the "Every power attack is a counter" bug, except I don't have SkySA, Attack MCO, BFCO, or anything of the sort. I do have Dodge MCO and Hellblade, but otherwise the combat is mostly vanilla. As such, I can't turn off the vanilla patch, otherwise I don't get counters at all.

    EDIT: as of three days after I posted the above, I've managed to get something working by disabling the poise patch. It's not perfect, and sometimes attacks will still be replaced by the counter animation, but this time I'm much more able to get them to switch back to normal through directional power attacks or hesitating a few seconds before attacking again.

    Works for latest version of AE Steam. 

    The elden counter was looping on ever power attack, what fixed this was I went into Pandora engine and unchecked the "Elden Counter - Vanilla Behavior Patch"

    Should work for Nemesis too.

      Worked for me, should work for you, unless you are missing a requirement. 

      tell me your combat mod list, what are you using? BFCO MCO?

      Full disclosure this fix is only for NG users.

      Let me guess. Do you have this mod?  Doodlum's dTry's 

      if yes disable it now, do not install any of his requirements! if you have them, go into their file locations and purge!

      Let's Begin!
      you need the Original NG version here: dTry's Original NG 

      First install dTry's NG ^^ then install Elden counter, in the FOMOD select SE.
      The AE version doesn't have an update .DLL, you will get an error on start up if You select AE. 

      Secondly reinstall Doodlum's dTry's -  within the mod-manager and when the FOMOD appears, check dTry's and Elden Counter.
      Uncheck Elden Parry and all others aren't needed, they aren't required. Remember do not check Parry!

      Now on your Left panel, where your mods are located, the Order should be like this:
      dTry NG (this is original)
      dTry Plugin Updates (this overwrites)
      Elden Counter/parry (either one)
      Elden Parry/counter (either one)

      Then launch Nemesis, update engine, check all Elden, and uncheck Elden Counter - Vanilla. 

       hit the Launch

      start the game

      you could but I highly recommend that you don't.

      What you should use as a replacement mod is, Hellblade Timed Block, EldenRim and all its WarAsh packs with its MCO Patches
      (if you dont use MCO, dont worry there's always another patch like BFCO)

      With this setup, you get elden counter and parry effects without the CTD's .

      From my own experience, I got CTD's with a new save when escaping Helgen and after the escape, almost every battle the game crashed, and it's due to Elden Parry/Counter esp plugin

      its most likely a LE bug, left over LE scripting in an updated form usually is the suspect, but idk.

    Is there a way to make Elden Counter functionally replace the vanilla bash for both NPCs and the player?

    I only managed to make it work like this, I checked all the options in Nemesis, when I'm in the game, I have to defend, release the defend button, then hold the attack button, which generates the counter, is that right?

    Im using pandora and bfco 
    i got the bfco patch, ive unticked all the patches in pandora and have the dtry plugin mod
    yet when i try to run the game its gives me an error that the dll isnt for 1.6.1179 and the plugin needs to update

      make sure plugin updates overwrite this and in pandora only untick the vanilla behaviour and optionally npc behaviour if you want, still tick the main stun&poise though

    This is an awesome mod. Got this running perfectly with MBO and dynamic block hit in AE 1.6.1179. I downloaded dTry plugin, run Nemesis and tick the Elden Counter and Elden Parry. Everything works fine, thank you!

    Currently not working on AE 1.6.1170 with Pandora. All attacks get stuck as counter attacks, and if you untick the vanilla behaviour patch it just stops working whatsoever.

      Works on 1.6.1170 with Valhalla Combat, right after perfect block you can counter, but sometimes you need to click power attack button twice, on 1.6.640 it worked always after one click. And Maxsu Block Overhaul not working well with elden counter too.

      gotcha, thanks for the pointer, I do have MaxsuBlockOverhaul with dynamic block so I'll see if I can test it next time I tweak combat mods and run Elden counter without those

      Update: 
      Got it working on 1.6.1170 with Pandora using this patch Elden Counter BFCO patch + dTry Plugin Updates

      For use with BFCO still choose MCO in Elden counter FOMOD, and disable Vanilla patch in Pandora.
      Maxsu Block Overhaul also works fine for me with this setup.
