Unfortunately, this mod didn't work for me on this play-through. I should note that I did install this mid-game, but I had only done a single job for Delvin. The mod description has conflicting info. Says" doesn't work on an existing game if you've done more than 5 jobs", which I had only done the one. I'm guessing that if you've already done one of the jobs, or maybe even just talking to Delvin/Vex about it, that locks you out of being able to modify the script or whatever.
I'm not saying it doesn't work, I'd have to start a whole new game again to try it but I'm guessing it works fine that way. But as a mid-game install, at least if you've already talked to Delvin/Vex, you're too late.
I tried "No Thieves Guild Grind" and "No Thieves Guild Grind Fixed", but only this mod is working for me! Thank you very much. 125 thieves jobs? No thanks. :v Endorsed!
I am playing this on the Xbox and other then NEVER receiving any jobs for Markath the rest of it does work. The Markath script seems to be broken, I have all the other locations finished and haven't received a single job for Markath and at times after accepting a job I won't get one. That leads me to believe I'd get Markath every time that happens since it's about that random and it's the only place (including Riften and Raven Rock as well) I'm not getting jobs for. I don't have any other mods altering the Thieves Guild quest line or even Markath for that matter. The only mods that might even come close is alternate perspective or Skyrim reputation although I've never had this issue before.
Hey - this mod doesn't touch the Thieves Guild quests themselves. That being said, there is a mod (I forgot the name, it's been years since I last played) that allows you to pick where you want the job.
It's been a year since the last comment but how does the mod hold up on AE now? And does it mess up the achievements for the thieves guild? also by jobs completed you mean the radiant quests after doing the nightingale and skeleton key stuff right? so assuming I got the skeleton key and then dipped my game should be fine?
that should be no surprise, it's AE we are talking about.
this was made for SE, and normally it plays one miscellaneous mission then it does the special mission and back to a miscellaneous mission and back to another special mission.
if i remember correctly, it's 2 missions per city which is a total of 16, so it's not going to work for AE until this mod gets that update, this is what people were trying to warn folks about when they said to not do the upgrade to soon, i mean you traded a few Bethesda trinkets for a gold mine of free SSE mods that were already established, it was the same for SSE when it came out and why so many didn't make the move until a few years later.
maybe in a year or so, the mods will catch up enough to AE, but that kind of thing isn't going to happen over night, or as they say, Rome wasn't built within a day.
Yeah, you should follow Arthmoor's advice, be patient, and just play some other game for a few weeks... months...? years...? until all the modders (that have long since moved on) come back and update their mods. Or you can play the post-AE game and get... FISHING!
25 jobs is enough to become guildmaster, but not enough to get all the treasure trophies in the vanilla game.
Jeweled Candlestick appears after 5 jobs are completed. Ornate Drinking Horn appears after 15 jobs are completed. Golden Ship Model appears after 25 jobs are completed. Golden Urn appears after 35 jobs are completed. Jeweled Goblet appears after 45 jobs are completed. Jeweled Flagon appears after 55 jobs are completed. (May receive Pitcher instead of the Flagon) Jeweled Pitcher appears after 75 jobs are completed. (May receive Flagon instead of the Pitcher) A safe appears after 125 jobs are completed. It contains random loot and sometimes special thief potions that improve the Dragonborn's stealth skills.
I always heard about how grindy the thieves guild is, always thought it was yet another impatient millennial complaint about not getting things immediately, and then I actually tried to do the questline... jesus CHRIST.
"another impatient millennial complaint" Most Millennials grew up with video games and played them back when they were truly agonizing to get through; they played games as kids which truly demanded patience. I don't think you understand what "millennial" actually means as much as you just like using the word, likely because you've seen it used too liberally across the internet and are now erroneously applying it wherever you see that skewed sense of context present. "Millennial" is anyone born between 1982 to 2004; that's a large range. No doubt you, like most, assume the word applies to anyone born around 2004, even though you might just be a Millennial yourself. If anything, it's usually older folks who can't get into gaming because they're too impatient to learn or do anything within them.
He's not using millennial to describe an age range. He's using it in the internet's colloquial use. It's become largely popular to use the word "millennial" to describe young people who are typically lazy and impatient because they grew up with the internet boom. But even if we look at the history of the word millennial as it applies to the age demographic, it is also referred to as " generation me" because people within this group tend to be more self-entitled. But honestly in my opinion these different titles for age group is pointless. Why seriously assign a set of traits to such a large age group when individuals are far more complex. I prefer to use millennials in the humourous "make fun of" sense that so many have come to use it. It's used like that on Facebook and YouTube all of the time and if we've " seen it used too liberally across the internet" then why not use it the same? How do you think the words sick, dope, and bad became colloquially acceptable for cool and good? When a large group of people in an area (this area being the internet) begin to use a word for something other than its original meaning, it generally becomes acceptable. There is really no point in taking it too seriously. Ultros7 wasn't hurting anyone, and I apologize if it offended you. Anyway, I wish you both the best. Cheers!
I don't usually post anything on forums, because I feel that everybody is entitled to their option even if I don't agree with it. I am 76 years and I have found in life that no matter what age you are everybody is different. When I was young there where people then who thought they were entitled and wanted it now. We just called them selfish self cantered P****. So every generation has inpatient people, happy people, sad people and so forth. The point I am trying to make is, that no all "older folks" are inpatient and can't get into gaming. My first computer was a Tandy some called the Trash 80 it only had 4kb of ram. If you wanted to play games on it you had to learn Basic language and write the program yourself. Trust me that took a lot of patience. I have played Skyrim and Skyrim SE. I have played all races and first playthrough with no mods I played the Thieves Guild right through, I thought it would never end but I got there and became Guild Master. You will learn in life that all generations have there good people, selfish people, bad people, and know-alls Don't take this personally, I just wanted to point out a fact of life. IT TAKES ALL TYPES TO MAKE UP THE WORLD.
I'm a "millennial" and I grew up on some of the most grindy and difficult games in history. Gothic Series by Piranha Bytes, Metin2, a few web browser RPGs which I forgot the name of after 15 years, I don't see how adding labels is ever a good idea - you're purposefully generalising people of a certain age range despite the fact that it has no relevance to anything. In fact, it's the opposite. "Millenials" more likely grew up on wayyyy more difficult games than any generations after them.
Nowadays a lot of the 'mainstream' video games hold your hand, let you CHOOSE game difficulty, let you respawn with no consequences, ect. Back in the days this was extremely uncommon and even unheard of.
Sorry to be continuing this dumb debate. It just annoys me when people say stuff like that.

I've done approximate 40 jobs, and I have :

Thank you for this!

Sort of a must-have in my opinion.
