hello), for you or for someone who is also looking. You can use the men's version of gloves from Truly Light Elven Male (replace gloves meshes), maybe not perfect, but it seems normal to me.
Hi ewardedwins If you're still supporting this mod, is there any chance at all you can update the files to fix the clipping issue on the sleeves and pants? It occurs when putting on gauntlets and boots with it, and this goes for all versions.
I'm not actively supporting it anymore, I think its an issue with the partitions not being painted/flagged correctly, but I could be wrong. Either way, happy to upload a corrected version and credit you or anyone else if you fix it.
Thank you for this awesome mod. :) These armors are the best versions of the elven armor by far. I've been dreaming about something like this for a long time. Is there any chance you could make a version where the male armor without the pauldron doesn't have the feather skirt either?
Unfortunately, there aren't many skirtless male armor mods for SE. I have been trying to get blender to work just to make this extra light elven armor version, but even my attempts to import OBJ files have failed. :(
If changing the meshes doesn't take too much time, could you please create one skirtless male version of this elven armor?
if the reteture replaces vanillas elven textures it should work. but if you're using the content addon, the texture change is made with an esp which is incompatible with this mod unless a patch is made which i would be happy to upload here and credit the creator.
Oh I got you. Well thanks a million. Fyi Idk why people always say you have to convert the aMidianborn textures to AE/SE to use them now. It's like they don't know Bodyslide does that for you when you build the meshes now. It's really weird. I'm using a bunch of retextures from LE that I just manually added into Bodyslide. But I can't do that so easily if the mod doesn't include Bodyslide files. lol. But if anyone wants to use those amidianborn elf armor textures, they do work great with AE, but the content esp with elf stuff you can just delete all the edits from their esp and repack .
Textures that are .dds file type will work for all versions of Skyrim. It's the meshes that cause a problem between LE and SE/AE. A problem can be avoided by using TXT records in an ESP to retexture armor as opposed to duplicating meshes and saving them with different textures. They also take up less space that way because it's one mesh, and 2 or however many alternative textures compared to having a whole mesh for each texture variant of the armor.
In sseedit you can look at dunmer clothes or a lot of the farmer clothes variants to see how it recolors it for the different versions found in-game despite only including one mesh in the BSAs.
Im loving this but is there a way to make it compatable with Amidianborn Thalmor armor. Sometime the armor is black, sometimes it isnt, sometimes only the legs are black and it varies from npc to npc and tbh, its got me completely confused on how to fix it
So Amidianborn Content Addon uses the same elven armor meshes but an alternate texture for thalmor. So before it was a black and gold version of the vanilla elven armor, even with practical female armors installed. So if I had to guess, maybe its a texture path thing since this changes the vanilla armor meshes.
Elven light armor (which would become the standalone Thalmor Light Armor, works just find, its all black and the textures are right) but when it comes to normal Thalmor and Gilded Thalmor, sometimes just the legs are black, or just the shoulders, but for males, sometimes it isnt retextured at all. I dont know too much about messing with meshes so I tried making a change or two in sseedit which is how I kinda fixed the Elven(Thalmor) Light (I think).
Tbh I'd rather just look up a tutorial to not be bothersome but I dont even know what tutorial to look up since idk what the exact issue is and I also tend to have a hard time finding decent tutorials anyways. Then again maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.
Of course, I've also just considered the obvious option of just editing the leveled lists so that Thalmor use normal elven like in vanilla again, but that feels like quitting too soon lol.
That's rather strange. The model in the inventory and when dropped are the same so I have no sweet clue why the textures on them are inconsistent. My only guess as to why there is an issue with amidianborn thalmor is if it retextures the models in the plugin rather than including new .nifs. The reason is that retexture data has to have a target shape and I know truly light elven armor uses different shape names in the .nif than the vanilla meshes do.
If you are familiar with nifskope this should be a relatively easy but tedious fix. copy my meshes into a new folder pathway like "/meshes/armor/darkelven" for example. From there, open each .nif in nifskope or bodyslide/some other program that allows you to edit what textures it is using ad repath to amidianborn dark elven textures. from SSEdit, point the thalmor armors to use those models instead of retextured copy of vanilla elven meshes. You will need to create new armor addons for this as well for the armors to point to.
Alternatively, open the nif and look at the shape names. Then from ssedit, point the retexture to those shapes. You can get the shape names by clicking on parts of the mesh in nifskope. They will be the same for _0 and _1 nifs so you only need to look at 1 for each armor.
Can I assume that these will all still work fine with elven armor texture replacers? The pathing wasn't changed or anything weird? (I wouldn't think so but never hurts to ask lol.)
