I'm currently on a downgraded 1.5.97 version of the game and I'm using Scion as my Vamp overhaul, unfortunately Scion has no sun damage but I want to die in the sun! I'd love to use your mod but it's reliant on the survival mode esl which is incompatible with 1.5.97. Is there any way to make this mod work without being reliant on the survival.esl?
Possible, but since survival mode is free for everyone, and since you can use this mod with survival downloaded, but not activated, I do not plan on providing a patch. Sorry, but I only support full freeware at this time.
Seeing as I have to directly edit sunlight damage (basically what a vampire is game-wise)... no.
I didn't make a patch for BV because I'm not using it, and it conveniently comes with its own sun damage system. I made this because I wanted something similar for my Sacrosanct playthrough.
There's a brief fire effect and sound effect (lasts a couple of seconds) whenever you start taking damage. This happens every time, but stops after the few seconds and won't play again unless reset (via entering then exiting shade, entering/leaving a building, etc). I was aiming for a vanilla feel--similar to the initial screen blur and sound when you first step outside during the day.
Would it be possible to make a version that constantly applies actual damage at "stage one"? I'm using a mod that removes the standard stage system, which causes this mod to do very little on account of its stage one conditions.
At best, I considered updating stage 1 to take 'full sun damage' but at .5 dmg/sec. I eventually cut the idea to keep more true with Oblivion, and with Sacrocant, if you 'die' and come back to life, you 'gain' thirst. That, and I play that you thirst/go down a stage every 12-18 hrs... so this mod is built around having stages and needing to feed.
If you are slightly proficient at xEdit, you can easily add the MGEF (or both) to stage 1 and customize the damage you would take.
Volkihar Knight, which I use in conjunction with Heretic armor for my vampiric playthroughs... Which, let's face it. I think I only ever played as the Dawnguard once.
Yes, all NPC vampires have the sun damage effect as well, but as they all recently fed, they take no sun damage. :P
No, it's just for the PC. I made this for myself as a quick, scriptless, and lightweight way to get sun damage for my pc, and to edit the game the way I like with blood potion effects. No fancy bells and whistles added or needed.

Thank you.
