Wet and Cold Gear <--Install this, and load after Wet and Cold. It replaces the ESP from the original mod and removes many things that cause the infamous freezes. This patch and that mod work.
Thanks man, installed Gear, didn't install the fix from this page (the author says here in the comments that it doesn't work with Gear) So far so good. It was freezing in snowy areas of Solstheim right outside the Skaal village. Now it looks like the freeze is gone edit1: no, it's back, investigating edit2: okay, I installed an older version of Wet and Cold as madman1973 suggested in the comments, and the fix from this page. So far so good
Hey David hoping you see this soon. Did this stop your combat freezes once and for all? Trying to figure out if I should do older version and this fix like you did. Or if I should just disable wet and cold all together which I'd hate to do
@WillC93 -- I know this is like, five months later, but just an update since davidgilbertking did not get back to you -- I originally tried fixing the freezing problem by also using the Wet And Cold - Gears mod, but unfortunately after a month or so, the freezing returned. So I went down and tried the fix proposed by madman1973 (installing version 2.2.4. of Wet and Cold and with this mod's freezing fix) and insofar, it does seem like the freezing has been permanently fixed at this time. I will update later if it happens to happen again.
This fix, broke loot from wet and cold, On the one hand you will have more stability but on the other there will be no cape loot or NPC backpacks. (skyrim 1.6.640)
So I've found that the mod stops the effects of wet and cold entirely once you're in combat, but then it doesn't re-enable the effects after you're out of combat again. To make wet and cold have any effect again you have to go into an interior and back out again, is this a bug or intentional? Thanks
Hello! I recently had freezing when I came to the Riekling 'village' just outside Bristleback Cave in Solsteim. I had Wet and Cold installed for the longest time, never had a consistent freezing issue until I got to that place. I uninstalled/deactivated WaC, and the freezing stopped. I liked the WaC effects,.so I tried using your mod in case it fixed the bug... unfortunately, didn't work, still freezed. :( UPDATE: I seem to have fixed the freezing, at least in that instance near Bristleback Cave, by installing an older version of Wet and Cold (V.2.2.4)
