Ahh man, it doesn't allow to endorse it, because there's nothing to download! I'd gladly do it, thank you for fix!

I think the problem stems from V-Sync being turned on in general. I have a 165hz monitor, and I have a mod that increases the maximum FPS allowed in the game engine to 165. Turning off V-Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel altogether fixed my issue with the mouse feeling floaty and unresponsive.

I already had SSE Display Tweaks installed and it doesn't change the floaty mouse issue for me. does anyone know the console command to call the version so i can see if SSE Display Tweaks is even running?

You can check the logs in My Games/Skyrim Special Edition/SKSE. What does "floaty mouse" mean?

yep, I see the logs in My Games/Skyrim Special Edition/SKSE. I think i mean laggy by floaty, it just feels like the mouse doesn't have good response time kind of, like its floaty. I noticed I could change the fmouseheadingsensitivity in the skyrimprefs.ini file from 0.0300 to 1.0000 to fix it, but every time my controller or keyboard would go to sleep while I was AFK id have to set it again, over and over and over, it would always change back to 0.030. Probably because I would have to lower the mouse sensitivity in game for the camera, but it would stay fixed in my menus until my game was restarted or the controller/keyboard would go to sleep like I mentioned. But setting the vsync to fast in the nvidia settings seems to have worked and is an easy fix, so I'm happy with it.

Thanks for the tip, although it didn't change anything for me sadly :( I think i got used to the floaty mouse anyway.

edit: no i'm sorry, i take that back, it DID improved the mouse feeling. It feels almost like in Windows now. Almost... :/

rainbowpuff, are you refering to the weird mouse acceleration when you say 'floaty mouse'?

Hmm ok, I don't remember having such issues myself, but good to know there's a fix.

I recommend some reading on what Fast-Sync actually is. It may alleviate your problem, or it might simply be placebo, or you were feeling the effects of regular vsync before (non VRR). In any case, Fast-Sync is a horrible vertical sync solution for Skyrim. It's mostly meant for ESports games where your framerate is often two or three times your maximum refresh rate. https://youtu.be/L07t_mY2LEU?t=692

Then that makes perfect sense why fast sync works for me, because I have a GTX 3070 but a 60hz monitor. Thank you for telling me WHY it works, now I can give more context in the description, so people will get a better idea on whether it will work for them or not. I don't notice a single screen tear in game with fast sync so it's either just a fix that works for me specifically, or they've improved it like the video you linked mentions at the end. There could be quite a few improvements made to the fast sync between 6 years ago (when this video was released) and now.

It may be because I have display tweaks installed and didn't configure the settings to limit my framerate to 60fps I'll do some testing and see
But I'm guessing that won't actually fix it since by default SSE display tweaks should be running at your monitors refresh rate already
