hi the Weapon seems nice and im eager to try the mod out but im a bit confused and have tried to make the mod work. i have dowloaded it manually and thru vortex and the mod is in the correct folder. but when i look in mods in game the mod is not checkmarked? some help i have tried every thing that comes to mind?
Great model! First of all, I played a bit with the textures; the daedra words on the blade were so much 'blur', so I made much clear letters. Second, I made the leather grip a bit 'red' (dark) to be different from the rest dark/grey/black weapon. Third, I added alpha channel to your normal map (you making these models in 3D applications, which they don't - of course - adding alpha channel to the normal maps, but Skyrim's textures do need alpha channels to all normal maps, otherwise they shining like crystal).
The major problem is, you added an iron scabbard in the weapon... which is invissible in Nifskope: https://prnt.sc/KTpl2x5XYDR3
(I added the textures of the scabbard, of course.. but as you see, it's invissible. So, is something's wrong with the mesh?)
Also, it's probably personal (of me), the weapon looks too thick (for a realistic sword). It looks more like 'WoW' (World of Warcraft) weapon, than a real one. The grip is fine, but the 'guard' is too thick, as the blade itself is very thick (for a realistic sword): https://prnt.sc/L_zwHO93eqOH
And since you made 'bolts' in some parts of the sword, I personally would made them 3d (engraved) on the weapon, not just 'dots' on the textures.
Thank you for the compliments and input! I appreciate your feedback a lot, you brought to my attention some issues that I overlooked, such as the Normal Map Alpha Channel. I’ll absolutely take your input into consideration when revising this for a future update. In particular, I like the ideas of changing the color of the handle, adding topology for the bolts, and maybe reducing the thickness of the sword! These are each elements that I wanted to revise, and so to hear feedback regarding those changes affirms the revision. The Daedric lettering will likely remain the same, as they are bit of an artistic interpretation on my part, and closely resemble the artwork from Morrowind. Also, the scabbard is not an issue! That is something I plan to remove in a future update; it is merely marked invisible so it doesn’t render. I appreciate you making note of that!
