Untarnished UI 1.1.6 has been released. See the changelogs to see what has been changed. I also revised the older changelogs to be concise (while retaining the same information), to have logs I did not include, and to be organized by the type of change.
I released this patch while I was working on a major update for this mod. I simply didn't want people to wait much longer on fixes and patches.
Also, if you have any interface issue caused by this mod (e.g., outdated patch, weird function, etc.), report it in this mod's bugs section since it would be more convenient for me to track and fix issues that way. Just be sure to mention the versions of Skyrim, Untarnished, and base/patch dependencies you're using. Bear in mind that some issues will fall back to the original files this mod replaces.
Yes, but only if I've tried that mod out and have permission to redistribute my tweaks.
RaceMenu skin?
Spoiler:
Show
And before you tell me that other interface replacers have a RaceMenu skin, they never got any permission to redistribute.
So no, but I wish I could. I asked the RaceMenu author for permission but of course I got denied and for fair reasons—my changes were considered minor along with maintaining version control and user experience. I asked if it would be worth considering making an “external skins” feature for their mod and they said it would be possible, so we’ll have to wait and see. Otherwise, they suggested that I could dynamically replace the shapes of their mod’s interface, but it seems a bit over my head. Of course, anyone willing to teach me how to do this is more than welcome to do so.
My patch is being overwritten by another file or my patch does not match the version of the mod you are using. If none of these apply and you are using Mod Organizer 2, copy my patched file to an empty mod then see if the patch is working. I'm only mentioning this since I someone created an Oxygen Meter 2 patch for Untarnished UI since my patch "didn't work" but the same steps I mentioned fixed their issue.
What are the future plans for this project?
Spoiler:
Show
I don't have any ambitious plans in mind since I think a majority of users enjoy the way this looks and feels. However, I will regularly update this mod's patches and include new options whenever I have the time.
Edit: I'm currently working on a 2.0 version of this mod that does not require Dear Diary DM (since a few menus have been remade from scratch), includes more features, and more patches.
Could you port this mod to (insert platform/version here)?
Spoiler:
Show
No, because I don't want to increase the amount of work on this mod nor do I have Skyrim on other platforms. The only version supported by me will be for Skyrim SE/AE on PC. Also, Untarnished UI has open permissions, meaning others can port the mod to any platform they see fit, given they also have permission to redistribute assets included in this mod.
I reminded the author to update the port and to only include their tweaks, but I think I'll officially include Enderal SE support in the future.
LE?
It doesn't exist.
VR?
It doesn't exist.
Why is Dear Diary Dark Mode still required?
Spoiler:
Show
While I redistributed a majority of its files and am aware it has open permissions, I don't think it's fair to redistribute the whole thing because I wouldn't have any contribution to the files I haven't worked on. Therefore, if some assets appear to be missing, you likely didn't install that mod.
Edit: Now that I think of it, I might include all other assets I haven't included. I'll still have DDDM be a requirement, though only a soft requirement.
Could you redesign this menu or element?
Spoiler:
Show
I always open up to redesign suggestions. If you find a menu harder to use or not aesthetically pleasing, feel free to let me know. I encourage you to suggest alternative approaches (or create a mockup) instead of only pointing out the issue.
If you find a menu background too opaque or transparent, you can tweak its opacity values in this mod’s Dear Diary Dark Mode settings file. You can find these values at the very bottom of the file.
Ultrawide HUD settings? Some elements are floating.

21:9 settings
SkyHUD - fMessageInfoPosX = 1030 TrueHUD - Player Widget Anchor X = -0.105 TrueHUD - Player Loot Anchor X = 1.17
32:9 settings

How do I change the compass position?
Spoiler:
Show
Open Untarnished's SkyHUD settings file found in Untarnished UI/interface/skyhud/skyhud.txt with a text editor and change fCompassPosY's value. Empty values use the default y-position, smaller values raise it, but higher values lower it. Up to you what value you want. Also, the Vanilla Style and Oblivion Style presets exist for a reason.
Got back into modding Skyrim lately and this is still my favourite UI mod. There's just an issue it seems to have which Dear Diary Dark Mode doesn't have, which is the compass doesn't work right with iHud. I don't know why, but Dear Diary is compatible, i checked using it in my set up, but with this mod the compass bar stays on the screen at all times with the compass markers missing when the Hud is hidden. So there's no HUD except a useless compass bar (that's meant to be hidden) with nothing on it until you activate the HUD with the iHud hotkey to make it functional. I tried installing Untarnished without replacing the Dear Diary HUD in the installation options but it gives the same problem, just with DD graphics instead of this mods.
Without iHud - this is by far the best UI mod on the Nexus, I just like having the HUD hidden.
PS - This mod looks great with the Sekiro font installed. Fits perfectly and still feels modern but with a touch more fantasy to it.

Update: Use RaceMenu - Untarnished UI - DIP Patch.

Xbox?
Untarnished UI (Devils Edit)
A bit of a mixed bag, in my opinion. The author should update their port. But hey, at least Xbox users have a port.
Enderal SE?
Untarnished UI for Enderal SE

I'm using TrueHud too. It has it's own shout meter and I like that one
I already selected HIDE SHOUT from fomod
