I feel like so many mod collections screw up archery by adding new animations in which the arrows are too short and wind up floating in weird ways. This mod fixes that!
It's a good start. If you really want to get after the arrows, you could issue an update that replaces the profoundly idiotic forked arrowheads on such as the Daedric arrows and others with proper arrowheads.
Forked arrowheads are all the proof that anyone should ever need that no one at Bethesda Studios knows anything about archery. Or physics, or anatomy, for that matter. Those, and the default, tree limb-like bows. And don't get me started on the other weapons. And the Creation Club weapons! Oh my...
Yeah the stupid tips on some of these things do irk me a bit. If I had the time and energy I would just fully remodel all of the arrows and quivers to all look functional and nicer. But my drive to make mods has not been very high lately. Maybe in the future I or someone else will give it a shot.
They were mainly for hunting small fowl (by severing their neck or wings), and for cutting ropes from range (for example, set a trap, shoot the rope when the enemy is under it) and for both of those, they weren't generally used. But they DID exist

It is based in the real world. And as for off proportions, less important than focusing on the art(and the "cool factor") and viewpoint of a primarily first person game. To say nothing of logistical development limitations and the time it was developed. It's safe to assume these were design choices made out of different priorities, not ignorance. An ignorance that you've just demonstrated.

And looks like the site you linked says that forked arrows were to either hunt birds or to shoot at horses purely to cause pain over damage, seems like the best arrows in the game shouldn't have forked arrowtips. That said I do think Daedric arrows should look odd in another way, given how its made, essentially forcing a daedric soul into ebony, which transforms the metal into forming some gruesome shapes
I wonder about the depth and width of the knocks here. Some modern archers, with our precise machining and uniform width bow strings, like the "sticky" knocks. As in this picture, it seems probable to me that earlier knocks were shallow and U-shaped like these: http://munchkinsmedievallife.weebly.com/uploads/4/1/2/8/41283137/2940642_orig.jpg

Thanks for the mod.
