Found out today that this mod, and veydogolt landscape do not like each other, since as soon as I enter the pine forest it crashes. Sad but I guess it's finally time to retire veydogolt. After so many years, it has served me well.
seriously st00pid question, but does the _p map baked into texture/normal and gets activated by complex parallax or it's not even needed with complex parallax at all? asking coz I used to see matching _p.dds maps alongside the textures but seems it's not the case here
_p isn't needed at all for terrain complex parallax. As the height file is laid on top of the diffuse as an alpha channel. You don't need P files at all even for objects as I was just testing mountain parallax last night and obviously you have to enable parallax through the mesh there but it reads the height from alpha channel on the diffuse. Some textures may benefit more from using _p I haven't played with like structures yet, but from how Boris explained how SE parallax works this is how I understand it. From my minimal testing it seems to work great.
Also not a stupid question, I think it's one everyone has asked or thought about asking. As it functions differently than LE
Wow, that's a great explanation, thanks for putting it simple for us mod users! Makes sense! Great series of textures you posted recently, I really like them
So it's a matter of mesh flag? And doodlezoid mod like POM address that without actually running mesh through script? That's pretty good stuff, it will free up vram due to not having to use all these _p textures.
For terrain yes. doodlezoids mod is a great option for people that don't use ENB but still want to use parallax. It's nice not having to rely on 1 method
Kind of follow up, but with Boris complex ENB what settings do I need to use to trigger it? I have his latest ENB files and an ENB that has complex parallax. I've seen some people say to not enable regular terrain parallax, but to only enable complex terrain parallax and complex shadows. I've also seen post that say to enable all settings that say parallax.
I've tried it both ways but frankly I don't know what I'm looking for because I never seen parallax (that I know of) I don't know if I should expect something subtle or dramatic.
looking at the river areas would be easiest to see if parallax is working for you, I have all parallax settings enabled but you mainly need the terrain complex parallax settings, anything to do with terrain I would imagine to get it working properly.

Thank you.
