Thanks your your suggestions! I'm going to keep a list here of features I'm looking into adding:

    • Bonus for wielding dangerous spells (the spells that NPCs normally comment on)
    • Bonus scaling with armor rating
    • Lowering intimidation success based on all the same factors for the NPC you are trying to intimidate
    • Adding an MCM to allow configuring each feature
    • Add extra customizable modifier, for balance tweaking and roleplaying purposes.

If you have anything else you think would make a good addition, please leave a comment!

Hello, is the character level still included in the calculation or not?

This mod just adds additional bonuses, it doesn't remove anything. So yes, character level is still a factor.

A boost for having a spell drawn might have some value as well. I mage ready to blast someone's face off is pretty intimidating. Another possibility is a boost for the damage of the weapon. An aggressive guy wielding a weapon that does 2000 damage is definitely intimidating for an NPC with 500 health.

Definitely agree about having a spell drawn. Especially when talking to nords, who are so afraid of magic.

You would think people would be afraid of someone who can kill dragons with ease and throw people out of reality

Hey thanks for the mod, great idea!

If I may ask, is it a possible thing to add or reduce chance based on character sex? For example I'm playing a female mage right now that uses robes. She's definitely MUCH less intimidating (visually) than my male nord warrior, I can't see a big orc for example being scared of her. This would even add a sense of enemies underestimating the women and mages to some extent. Just a random idea, I think it would be realistic although I know it can be seen as kinda sexist lol.

Or even just a flat increase/reduction MCM option so you could "roleplay" how intimidating you think your character looks like regardless of genre.

Just babbling ideas anyway, love the mod, thank you!

I did consider this, but didn't implement it for the reason you describe. Women and men are also regarded equally in the game's lore, so it just wouldn't make much sense.

That being said, once I add an MCM I can definitely add a customizable modifier. I'll add that to my list of planned features.

Yeah, with the exception of the orcs that have some beefy gender inequality specially in the strongholds (away from bigger civs) I get your point, fair enough. But the MCM option for roleplaying purposes would be really neat.

      Again, thanks for the mod!

I love the concept of this mod, it's so subtle but adds so much to the gameplay. Compliments jayserpa's Sensible Bribes perfectly as the two do not conflict in any way. Thank you for sharing your work and being so kind as to fulfill a request!

So Speechcraft no longer has a role in Intimidate at all?

Speechcraft still works like normal. These bonuses are applies on top of any existing bonuses that are provided by your speechcraft level or perks.

it'd be a cool idea if it scaled with armor rating, I'd be a lot more intimidated by a guy wearing full daedric armor than a guy wearing full iron armor

This is feasible. It would then also scale with your armor skill, since that directly influences your armor rating. A couple of things to keep in mind though:

      - mage armor would also add to the bonus, as there is no way to calculate the bonus with only the armor rating provided by equipment
      - this would definitely need an upper cap, since armor rating can go insanely high with tempered armor

I'll see if I can add this in a way that makes sense.

I put this mod together pretty quickly based on a request, so there's definitely some stuff more modifiers that can be added. I'll look into adding support for this!
