I have not and will not update my version of Skyrim beyond version 1.6.640.  This means I can not verify Book 'Em's compatibility with the newest version.
Frankly, Bethesda should have left well enough alone.

If you did update Skyrim, you will have to update SKSE and Address Library.  Reading Is Good and Don't Eat Spell Tomes may also have to be updated but, as of this post, those authors have not yet updated their mods.

Use at your own risk and consider this mod no longer supported.  Unless otherwise posted, any future updates to this mod will only apply to Skyrim version 1.6.640.

For the record, I am using:
    Skyrim SE v1.6.640.0.8
    SKSE64 v2.2.3
    Address Library v8

As of this writing, these are currently the most up-to-date versions.  If you are using older versions and experiencing problems, I may not be able to help you.  Please update your game/mods and try again.  Thank you.

Just to bring this to the front (found this on page 7)
Weightless NG and this mod don't go along; it will break glow, xp etc
    Also, working fine on v1.6.1170
  4. I love this mod for being a more customisable update to Reading is Good and an integrated version of various spell-tomes-take-time mods. I use it alongside (rather than instead of) Unread Books Glow because I prefer the way that mod does highlighting. My only issue is that the first/third person camera changing is inconsistent and can't be turned off.

This is mod is perhaps the single most acute combination of something I am passionately in love with that is most let down by its current state of development. I can't express how well the understated mechanic of book study time passage followed by study cooldown required for learning spells completes the jigsaw puzzle of a gritty, ultra-immersive Frostfall/iWant/Spell Research/Simple Degradation/Wounds/etc playthrough that always felt like it was missing something with normal instant spellbook eating+learning.

I ended up in this comment section however because my game was dumping Papyrus stacks after visiting Yngol Barrow in a fresh playthrough and there were 262 warnings and errors from this mod's scripts in my logs. Found out the mod author refuses to use the current release of the game and has planted their flag in the past despite the majority of the contemporary mod scene being up to date with the current release. Hopefully there's someone who feels similarly passionately about this mechanic and the author gives them permission to bring the vision over the finish line - something we've seen before in this space for really visionary mods.

The reading animation doesn't work for me, is there anything I am missing?

Would you consider an option for skill books to work like spell books? So you can re-read them and get some skill xp? There is nothing on the Nexus like that :( But I think it'd be really cool to keep skill books instead of just using them once, so you can read them when you find time, immersive way of studying! :)

Does anyone here use SE vers. 1.5.9 with this latest version of the mod? Does it work fine?

Glowing books, skill books, and all other features seem to be working fine.
Only thing not working for me is spell learning. I'm using Immersive Spell Learning - DESTified for that feature. It's an ESP but can be ESLified in SSEEdit.
Would be nice if this got backported though so all the features can be found in one mod.

Would it be okay if MaskedRPGFan made a settings loader for this mod using MCMHelper?

That should no longer be necessary as I (finally) added a save/load feature to the MCM with version 2.30.

Thank you for that. That was the only thing about the mod that wasn't a benefit.

Love this mod. I was wondering if in addition to being able to save, we had an automatic loading on a new game. The MCM for Book 'Em is one of a very few I have that doesn't automatically do this.
