This fixes the directional power attacks but breaks light attacks. Before installing, you can hold LMB and do continuous light attacks. But after installing, you will do 2 light attacks and it's power attacks from then on.
Coming back to let anyone else who has this issue know what fix I did that worked for me. Pretty simple, but it got it working well enough for me. I installed the Mod OCPA https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/60878
In the MCM for OCPA I removed all the bindings and set the attack to hold consecutive light attacks. This made holding LMB chain lights, and when I hold shift + LMB it starts power attacks from EPA.
I've had no issues with this setup so far, and it seems stable and working well with elden counter and elden parry.
I want to kiss you, I just spent FIVE HOURS trying to get rid of vanilla power attacks, your method and this mod saved my ass, thank you kind stranger 🐐!
This is probably a wrong place to ask but do you perhaps know which mod would make it so Elden Power Attack does Power attack instead of chaining light attacks when holding the attack key?
Uuuh...Elden Power Attack actually does that? There is an .ini file inside Elden Power Attack that you can configure it to do power attack/consequtive light attacks when left mouse button is held. But if you enable power attack when holding left mouse button, then why are you using Elden Power Attack in the first place?
I don't know if this would help but I saw on another post if you wanna get rid of the power attack with left click almost completely, change the EPA_delay_ini setting to 15.0 in the Elden Power Attack ini. However now you can't hold the mouse button for light attack, it still fixes the Power Attack on Left Mouse Click.
It does work fine. If you can't set it up properly its your fault. I use the whole collections of fixes with EPA, MCO, this fix as well and everything works perfectly.
That's weird, light attack chaining works fine for me with only Elden Power Attack installed, with this it doesn't. No changes to the ini. Disabled it again and used the normal Elden Power Attack esp and it works again.
Having same problem. With Elden Power Attack installed, it is possible to chain light attacks. Replace that mod's esp with this one, and it's no longer possible to chain light attacks by holding down the attack key (although directional power attacks are successfully disabled, as it says on the tin).
Edit: Seems like the best option for the time being is to set EPA_delay_ini to 15.0 as someone mentioned above. This stops power-attack chaining if you hold down the attack button, but also stops light attack chaining, making it somewhat harder to chain light + power attack combos.
Hey, I've been trying to figure out what's going on and I have tried to spell this out as clearly as I can since it sounds like others have had my issue and maybe they didn't communicate it very clearly. Both the original Elden Power Attack and the one provided here are not working properly with MCO's Attack, as far as I can tell.
I've tested this both unarmed and with a 1h sword equipped, just in case there was a weird behavior with unarmed. (Which I assume a lot of people will initially check unarmed to see if things are working since that's how characters start for me with Alternate Start - Live Another Life.)
This is with the original Elden Power Attack.esp, even with a LOOT rule to make sure Elden Power Attack.esp loads after Attack_MCO.esp. (LOOT originally was sorting EPA above AMCO.) Behavior: >Capslock Off - W = run forward 1 left click: light attack 2 left clicks: light attack followed by power attack ... power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (repeating)
>Capslock Off + Shift - W = walk forward 1 left click: power attack ... power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (repeating)
>Capslock On - W = walk forward 1 left click: (seems random) light attack OR power attack 2 left clicks: (see above) followed by power attack ... power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (repeating)
>Capslock On + Shift - W = run forward 1 left click: (seems random) light attack OR power attack 2 left clicks: (see above) followed by power attack ... power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (repeating)
In summary, there is no consistent way to perform more than one light attack in a row as far as I can tell. Most methods of inputting [attack] will either perform only power attacks, or will potentially trigger one light attack before only power attacking until the player returns to a VERY idle state.
This is with the Elden Power Attack.esp file provided here: (Still sorted after Attack_MCO.esp.) Behavior: >Capslock Off - W = run forward 1 left click: light attack 2 left clicks: 1 or 2 light attacks followed by power attack ...power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (not repeating)
>Capslock Off - Shift + W = walk forward 1 click: power attack ... power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (not repeating)
>Capslock On - W = walk forward 1 left click: (seems random) light attack OR power attack 2 left clicks: (see above) followed by power attack ... power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (not repeating)
>Capslock On + Shift - W = run forward 1 left click: (seems random) light attack OR power attack 2 left clicks: (see above) followed by power attack ... power attacks Click & Hold: power attack (not repeating)
The only real difference I can tell between these two .esp files is that NO attack will repeat from the mouse button remaining held. (Versus only being able to repeat power attacks, generally, in the original .esp.)
I haven't modified any of the configuration files because I want the (explained) default settings, and as far as I can tell the configuration files should be causing the behavior in the description of the mod. I'll reply to this post with as much information as I can about my source files in case there is a difference in versions, and I'll also put the contents of any relevant configuration file I can dig up in case there is a discrepancy there, too.
I downloaded Attack MCO from: https://www.distaranimation.com/mods/attack (The filename is Attack+MCO-DXP+v1.6.0.6.zip, since that will probably change at some point.)
The original Elden Power Attack mod was from here on the nexus. (Version listed is 1.2, filename Elden Power Attack-66711-1-2-1655934078.7z)

I use the regular MCO (Not the Distar Experience one) with a patch that disables directional power attacks - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/83383. Elden Power Attack probably also enables this attacks in this combination right? How would I go about fixing that? Will your patch also work with mine combination?
I assume that particular mod is forwarding MCO DXP records to disable directional power attack. It does disable regular MCO directional power attack, but you would still need my mod. Load order would be: 1. Elden Power Attack 2. My mod 3. Attack 4. Attack - NoDirectionalPowerAttacks
The report you just linked is exactly why you need my mod. That mod only allows regular MCO to disable directional power attack, NOT disabling Elden Power Attack directional PA.
3 months late but I had to ask, I'm currently using the latest Attack MCO version, installed EPA MCO, and the two fix for PA. It all worked after that, except for the unarmed power attack animations. I've been scratching my head to no avail and was wondering if you guys have the solution to that.
Hey, first of all I appreciate your work an love the mod, it is mandatory for MCO's combosystem. I just want to know if it is possible to somehow only disable powerattacks only for 3rd Person and to leave them for 1st Person because of the completely different ways of Playing?
