09 February 2025 I got the job officially. Contract has been signed and all. I start onboarding this week, then next week will be flying out to meet the team. The week after I'll start my work schedule and will have a better idea what development will look like going forward. The first step is going to be ironing out kinks, primarily my most recent update and having a path for destroying the dark brotherhood. I want to smooth out all of my quick fixes I have made, re-record some lines here and there, and overall polish the mod up so that it sparkles and I won't have to worry about fixes mid-major update (which in the past has forced me to update sooner than I would've liked.) Once the mod is at a polished sheen I will go ahead with working on either quest 3 or the College of Winterhold full interaction suite. Bear with me while I get my feet wet at this new job!
I have made a discord server to easily provide support for the mod and any bugs that need to be addressed. Please make sure to read the rules.
1.7.5 Due to numerous requests, Gore no longer leaves you when you join the Dark Brotherhood UNLESS you speak to him after joining while in the sanctuary and having not completed Muiri's quest. I still recommend not bringing him along for this quest unless you chose to kill June in Gore's personal questline. Just leave him at home. I am tired of people complaining about this, although I think a lot of it is warranted. For the record, Gore is supposed to leave your party when you join the Dark Brotherhood either without completing his personal quests or after making good decisions during them. If you kill June during Pate's quest, he has his own personal journey within this content. Otherwise, don't bring him. Don't have time to test this right now. A more permanent fix is the first thing to do on my list, making it so that if he is dismissed throughout the questline he will not leave, and addingn an arc for destroying the Dark Brotherhood. This is a temporary fix!

Each faction has been completely redone from the ground up to remove vanilla dialogue hooks and add a much deeper integration. Within the three that have been done, Gore has a unique character arc that he goes through. Moreover, certain decisions can cause him to leave your party permanently, or worse. A pinned comment to acknowledge issues with the mod, how to fix them.
1) There is an ongoing issue I am aware of where if you complete the companions before recruiting Gore, you will get stuck in a conversation with him about Ysgramor's tomb. I highly recommend picking up Gore early if you plan on using him. If this happens, open your console and type "Set HD1TombYsVar to 0" and hit enter. Fixed in Version 1.7.4
2) Gore won't stand up after the date. Simply summon him.
3) Gore kills me when we hug. Use USSEP, it fixes this animation being a killmove.
First love the mod. Great writing and voice acting.
Would anyone be able to share a screenshot of where the shrine is to marry Gore? The alias isn’t working and I’ve exhausted my options of fixing it (I.e reloads and cell changes.)
It should be a misc. quest objective that should point you to just outside Helgen, but here's a screenshot of where it is; hope this helps! https://imgur.com/a/sQiHsEx
Following up here if anyone has the same issue. It seems Helgen needs to be destroyed for the shrine to actually spawn. So if it isn't there make sure Helgen has been destroyed. Thanks you Queenizunia, for the image!
I've noticed that Gore can interact with Taliesin, but so far I've only seen one dialogue between them, when Gore offered him a drink in Whiterun. And strangely, Taliesin didn't have any voice acting. What could be the problem? And for some reason, right after I slept with him and just got to know him, Gor said in a dialogue in a tavern that he wanted to kiss my character. It's too early for romance.
Gore does not have any lines about kissing the character, unless you're referring to "I could kiss ya, but I won't" when you tell him he can relax. Maybe that being a joke went over your head.
me and tal were supposed to do lines together at some point. somewhere along the way it fizzled out. a lot of these interactions are still coded in, but i missed a few when locking them out.
I did not expect to love this guy as much as I do. I started a new playthrough, Alternate Start, Live Another Life, started in Falkreath with Lakeview (was unaware of exactly Gore spawned, just lucked out I guess lmao) and picked him up at like level 1 or 2. And honestly? Fourty five-ish minutes in and I'm actually taken aback with how interactive he is and how often I hear him talking and I just stop to listen. You have such a nice voice and you absolutely killed it with the voice acting, writing, everything. Actual 10/10 follower mod and now Gore is probably my favorite follower PERIOD not even just follower mod. Amazing work, really.
After the Cidhna mines (and the forsworn conspiracy quest) I'm no longer able to give Gore gear. I've checked my saves, and it looks like it was caused by the game force removing our gear, then giving it back. This means that whatever he was wearing before the quest is what he is stuck with.
I should also add--it seems he can't be targetted with the console anymore either, though is still fully functional as a companion (can dismiss recruit etc).
I only discovered the glitch about 10 hours after this part of the game... so rolling back a save would be awful. Any idea on a fix using console commands? I'm worried about experimenting and breaking his AI.
jesus christ, ten hours? are you serious? you played with him in prisoner rags for ten HOURS prior to noticing? and you want me to fix it? i have no idea. genuinely.
as you step into the prison, it removes all of his inventory and places it in a barrel in a cheat room i made. adds prisoners rags, equips them, then moves him to the prison. at the end, a different script gives him everything in the barrel back. thats it. nothing else. not sure how the game could even f*#@ something that simple up.
No. He went back to the gear he was wearing before imprisonment (as in, the gear I had given him)--but you cannot add anything further to his inventory. Removing items works, but nothing can be added back once removed. It took that long to notice because he went back to the way he was before and it was only after I decided to give him a new gear look that I noticed the problem.
I've done testing on my own, and it looks like the game has replicated his set, rather than remove it. But, I cannot select him in console (strangely I went back to a pre-prison save and couldnt select him there either), so I couldnt try removing all items to player.
I did roll back an earlier save and keeping him at home for that quest (dismissing him) allowed me to avoid the bug.
that sounds like your load order. ive never had this issue nor has it been reported. try this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/90734
I wasn't sure whether to post this here or on The Thalmor's Shadow page, but I noticed a conversation between Gore and Tal when the DB and Gore decide to go to the drunken huntsmen for a drink. Gore's lines work, but Tal's lines are entirely silent. I'm unsure if this was a bug, but I thought I should mention it just in case anyone else experienced it.
yeah, me and tal were supposed to do lines together at some point. somewhere along the way it fizzled out. a lot of these interactions are still coded in, but i missed a few when locking them out.
@goredev Hello there. I am about to start my first Skyrim playthrough with Gore as my companion. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate you, and may you have a blessed Easter.
After the end of Act 1 of vigilant for some reason gore is stuck in a constant loop of the cowering in fear animation, d/eing him or using resetai haven't fixed it.
maybe because you wrote a comment to the author about something that happened to his mod with vigilant's mod, and he's repnding, but you seem don't care ^_^ i may be wrong, but anyway, the infinite coward loop state on a follower may be a result of multiple effects/ or/ scripts on an npc, caused by mods, this has been already discussed with the author of viligant's mod, some years ago (cf mod forum vigilant) i am happy it not happened to me but a few experienced that. Nothing to related to gore mod anyway, so the author can't help with this kind of thing. Don't forget to save often with skyrim, because bugs can happen often on long playthrough, be ready to load earlier saves.
I see, didn't mean to come across as uncaring, it's just that i would lose too much progress resetting as when this first happened i thought it would go away eventually, and i was already planning to start another playtrough right after this one so i simply decided to postpone gore until this next playtrough. Howhever if it helps to know the bug seems to fix itself if you disable gore right before going to coldharbour. (the npc not the mod itself)
i just dont understand why people: A) Dont save more often B) "progress a lot" on saves where theyre having an issue. something like this could have been fixed early on and not botched your save. i just dont understand. there are so many issues with skyrim, and not saving often is save file suicide. i save before entering a new cell. every time. this game, vanilla, is already unstable. pack thousands of mods on top of that, and well. this happens. a lot!
When in the Mansion I took Martyrdom over a deal with Molag Bal. When arriving in Coldharbor Gore did not appear with me. After the final battle I reunited with Gore at my player home. Along the way I discovered a failed mission called Fading Memories, and Gore now acts like his brain is removed. Upon talking to him the 1st time in my house, his dialogue was as if we had arrived in Coldharbor together. Now he is mostly a meat slab zombie that I can not interact with. All his gear is locked or missing and I can not give him new gear.
lol what? yeah if you martyr he is in dragonbridge. idk how you forced him to show up again but you made a huge mistake. don't use the console to spawn gore in. you spawned in a version from coldharbour if you don't martyr.
I backtracked and completed the path back to Skyrim, I Fast Traveled to Dragonbridge, I have not found Gore as of yet. Took a chance and did a player.moveto on the HD1GOreRef and went to what appears to be a debug room with Gore and his horse. Non reactive, interaction gets just a static line, no access to any options.
I like the mod ok for all that went into it, the exposition's are a little drawn out in spots, and the order of doing things can cause confusion when lacking clear direction on how to get places. But for choosing to spit in Molag Bal's face and ending up not taking Gore with me has become the more aggravating gaming experience I have had in memory.
I am not opposed to doing the entire thing over from the start but it is deeply frustrating.
Your hypersensitive mods booted me out of the Discord by the way.. If you review those posts I believe you will find it was nothing, but one of them blew a circuit.
Fair. It shouldn't be worth mentioning except the entire interaction was very odd to me that it became a thing at all.
To conclude my help path. If Gore does not appear at Dragonbridge and the only version of him I can get to appears to be a lobotomized one, my only recourse is to redo all the content again, taking gore with me. Right? Is there any Set Stage console command I could apply to jump start him back to normal as tho I had taken him with me?
As a side question that may involve a spoiler, there are 2 gated sections within the City to the left of the Molag Bal Statue, if looking at his face. Where the Library is and a couple other POIs. What have I missed to get in there?
dude i did not make vigilant. we told you that multiple times. gore x vigilant is an addon for the mod "vigilant" by vicn. my server is not for fielding complaints about the mod or troubleshooting it. you are dense. you are banned from commenting here now too, but i still dont think you will ever understand.
I never get around to playing with follower mods but I'd like to try this one. Um, if it's not rude can I ask if you're still working on this. I just got back to the community and I'm hearing all sorts of things. Also are you still uploading Hayd's warpaints?

As a side question that may involve a spoiler, there are 2 gated sections within the City to the left of the Molag Bal Statue, if looking at his face. Where the Library is and a couple other POIs. What have I missed to get in there?
I DID NOT MAKE VIGILANT.
I never get around to playing with follower mods but I'd like to try this one. Um, if it's not rude can I ask if you're still working on this. I just got back to the community and I'm hearing all sorts of things. Also are you still uploading Hayd's warpaints?
Sorry to bother you.
