I tried unsuccessfully to make this work on latest GOG version of the game (1.6.1179). All prerequisites, no error messages, generating files with Pandora, my char and all NPCs (even with SCAR and its AE version) still using vanilla animations. Maybe there is some tweaking in OAR involved?
I am considering the switch to BFCO that has also a Universal support mod that works for 1.6.1179, or just live with some non MCO/BFCO simple combat animations :-S
i dont know, maybe there are people like me who whose a dodge mco didnt work on 1.6.1170. this mod helped me. install main file (load after mco support) and miscellaneous file -dodge framework (load after dmco) i hope this helps you too
It doesnt work on 1170 i spent 2 days of my free time switching from my vanilla plus combat to mco just for this to not work i had 800+ mods installed this was one hell of a disappointment
Switch to BFCO; it has features that MCO requires separate mods for (like one-button power attack and jumping attacks), unique features of its own (like swimming attacks and charge attacks), and can use all of MCO's movesets with the use of a simple converter. It's also updated more regularly and is hosted on Nexus, which makes it a bit easier to keep track of, and the creator is very responsive to suggestions.
Finally, I found our fix. Look at your Nemesis Engine folder inside your data folder. It needs to go. Re-install anything that needed Nemesis. I strongly recommend screenshotting your checkboxes. It's a cache issue or something. I'm unsure, but once that folder is remade and cleaned, the issue fixes itself.
I guess it's a Nemesis issue, but I'm using Pandora. Regardless, those patches aren't patching correctly, causing our issue. This worked for me.
Hey! Please note that when I clicked the link "Attack - MCO|DXP (skyrim-guild.com)" on the MOD introduction page, I was redirected to a virus website. I'm not sure if this is just my problem. For some reason, I temporarily closed Kaspersky and then forgot to open it. Now I have reopened Kaspersky, and clicking that link again will be blocked, please pay attention.
I am using Dodge MCO. It seems that the movement in the recovery time period, the move direction is fixed by the dodge direction. For example, I use a backward dodge by press (S+Alt), and in the recovery period, if I input W, my character still walk backward. Also, if my character is in the movement animation from recovery period, my dodge attack inputs are dropped.
For anyone curious because some comments say it wont work for 1170:
This seems false information. I have a 100% fresh new install and mod setup for 1170 and mco/universal support + all requirements worked out of the box.
(Using Pandora instead of Nemesis, because Pandora is the new goat)
I literally just came back to Skyrim, updated every single mod in my load order, as well as plugins, I can also confirm my game won't even start. I get the black screen for like 2 seconds and it then the application shuts down. I have no intention of playing this game without MCO. Here's hoping this plugin gets updated because it does not work.
Your problem must be coming from another mod. I'm currently rebuilding my LO using 1.6.1170. I have standard requirement mods and graphics overhauls only at this point (admittedly still 960 mods) and after reading the problems others were having decided to test MCO before going any further.
With the latest version of this, MCO and all its other dependencies my game starts and runs perfectly. The only odd behaviour is the character rotates with the camera when you pan, but I've never installed MCO without other mods (e.g. TDM) so this might always happen anyway.
I also can't start Skyrim. It loads the Main Menu for a while then crashes to desktop. And it's literally SCAR/MCO that is causing this issue. Currently I have (in this order): SCAR, SCAR AE Support, Attack MCO, MCO Universal Support, Holmgang, MCO First Person Patch. It could be an incompatible mod, but I can't find a list with those at all. At this point, I just don't know what else I can do.
Also, I think it's worth mentioning that I'm extremely new to MCO, and only wished to use it to change NPC attack animations (since I mostly play in First Person).
Edit: I've tried clearing Nemesis cache, didn't work. Tried removing CGO, didn't work. Tried removing MCO mods and keeping SCAR, works. Tried removing SCAR and keeping ONLY Attack MCO, didn't work. Tried adding MCO Universal Support to it, also didn't work. So I think it's fair to say that Attack MCO is the issue. I just have no clue how to fix it. I am using version 1.6.0.6.
If you're not using ModOrganizer2, I'd recommend moving to it. It's very simple to bruce-force find the problem. I had to do this a few days ago after updating to 1170. Turned out I had an outdated ScaleformTranslation++ installed. If you have MO2, here's my usual checklist to find the culprit(s) for crashes and other problems I don't know the source of:
-Create a copy of your current profile, name it something like 'test', 'troubleshooting', etc so you can identify it easily -Make the profile the active one -Disable ALL plugins (not mods), launch the game --If it does launch to the main menu, a plugin (or several) are causing issues; re-enable them in batches from the top of your list and start game, once it begins crashing again you can narrow down which plugin(s) is the exact cause -If it doesn't launch, there's a problem with an SKSE plugin most likely -Disable ALL mods on the left except for your SKSE data folder (unless it's been put manually in the SkyrimSE data folder) --If the game still doesn't launch, verify files and/or fully uninstall, delete the entire Skyrim SE folder from Steam, then reinstall -If it does launch, then start enabling mods starting at the top of your list and launching the game. You'll eventually find the culprit -Remember once you find the problem mod(s) to ensure the game now loads in your test profile with them updated or fixed. After that, swap back to your main profile, activate the new mod(s) and deactivate the old
Depending on how many mods you have it can take a while, but it really is a fool-proof way to find out exactly what is causing crashes when you're out of ideas off-hand. Hope it helps and good luck to you.
Ok i have newest version of skyrim too and somehow with nemesis this just not work, idk what im doing wrong, but it don't want to work... Unless i switch to Pandora... then it is working flawlessly... So for my the solution is go the Pandora way...

If you have issues, its outside of this mod.
-Create a copy of your current profile, name it something like 'test', 'troubleshooting', etc so you can identify it easily

--If it does launch to the main menu, a plugin (or several) are causing issues; re-enable them in batches from the top of your list and start game, once it begins crashing again you can narrow down which plugin(s) is the exact cause
-If it doesn't launch, there's a problem with an SKSE plugin most likely
-Disable ALL mods on the left except for your SKSE data folder (unless it's been put manually in the SkyrimSE data folder)
--If the game still doesn't launch, verify files and/or fully uninstall, delete the entire Skyrim SE folder from Steam, then reinstall
