I would like this mod more if there was a chance to fail instead, and there was nothing you could do if it failed. It would give more stakes to the quest, instead of: "I know it'll fail, so why do it?" or the vanilla "I know it'll work, so why worry about being a vampire if I can go back at any time?" Also, for those wanting to cure yourselves with this mod: become a werewolf. Not the best solution, but it'll do. You can cure yourself of lycanthropy by finishing the companions questline.
Yeah like auto-fail upon receiving the quest. Or get a prompt to 'fail'/'get wooden stake heart-wise' the latter resulting in: please a round of applause: please applaud louder: GAME OVER! Alternatively get a very attractive million dollar offer of biting the garlic... resulting in... you guessed it... applaud louder!... the crowd goes wild... GAME FFFFFFFFF OVEEEEERRR!
Looks great, specially in the writing! Still, if you can't be cured while role-playing a good person, you won't be able to complete the Dawnguard questline on the DG siade, won't you? Do you plan on expanding this mod to find a cure in a lore-friendly way, considering you mentioned that cult of Molag Bal? Or maybe tell Isran that finding a cure was impossible?
For some reason I'm unable to progress the quest, the initial dialogue with Falion works just fine but after I wait the 3 days, I get a new objective to speak to Falion but he just repeats the same lines that he says during your first encounter. Anyone else had this and know how to fix it?
Hey, yep I'm experiencing this too. I tried progressing through the quest with the console, disabling and re-enabling him, and I'm still experiencing this sadly. I tried reloading an earlier save and I can't seem to get past this, even with doing that.
Hey, I do use AI Overhaul and I am using JK's Skyrim and Fortified Morthal. AI Overhaul doesn't add any packages or make changes to Falion now that I'm looking at it in xEdit and I'm not seeing any conflicts from the other mods.
I've seen your previous comments about mode editing the surroundings and how that affects vanilla markers the quest needs. I am curious why Morthal is stuck repeating this intro line though.. He said it when I first met him as a vampire but I triggered the wait dialogue and after coming back, he goes back to repeating it.
Thank you, that is actually useful information. Let me see if I can replicate this with a minimal mod setup. That will allow me to narrow down the issue.
Could you please provide a bit of detail on how you began the quest? For example, did you speak to Urag first or go directly to Falion's house? Had you visited Falion's house before becoming a vampire? Those sorts of things.
It is a pity that this topic has not yet been continued. i have the same problem as described. I have installed a Morthal Replacer, ClefJ's Morthal SE.
I started the quest via Urag and have never been to Morthal before. After the first conversation with Falion and after I received the quest to wait 3 days, I met him once at the shrine in the swamp. He had already repeated his initial monolg there. Now the 3 days are over, the quest log says I should talk to Falion and he keeps repeating his text without entering into a dialog.
If you need any more information, please let me know.
Edit: Oh, the mod has been installed in a new game, so it was there, right at the start. Stage 70 btw.
Another Edit: I skipped Stages until 180. Standing in the Center of the Circle for the ritual triggered Falion (i moved him to that area) to start the ritual. There forth, the dialog started as they should be and i was able to complete the quest.
this mod and dark destiny have earned a permanent place in my load order. I hope you get the time to go through with your planned mods. You're so talented and it would be amazing to see more work from you! <3
is there a way to make your mod start quest at random areas of the map. So that it is more like someone is seeking you out to kill you and make you a vampire?
That sounds like a different mod. This is for players that have been turned into a vampire through normal game-play, and wish to have a hard time curing it. It's not exactly what you wanted but there's a link on this mod's description called Dark Destiny, maybe that's kind of something you're looking for.

Falion won't enter into dialogue, just standard interact responses.

Do either of you have any mods that edit the marshlands? Do you have AI overhaul mods such as immersive NPCs or the like?
