Not updated for ENB Dynamic Cubemaps yet, but the new ENB feature CloudScattering works extremely well with this ENB when paired with Etheral Clouds and Praedy's Sky AIO!! I also tweaked the water and rain to my personal preference, turned down the bloom and turned off the HDR, but overall this ENB rocks!!!
Hi, I'm having a weird problem with this ENB. Certain interiors are extremely bright and washed out, while others look correct. This can even change dramatically within the same cell depending on which part of it you're in, so it will brighten or darken as if a light switch is being flipped on or off. The best example I found while testing is the front (bright, washed out) and back (darker, the way the ENB is supposed to look) areas of Dragonsreach (JK's dragonsreach in case that matters). Examples: as you see here, looking down one of the galleries on the upper level which overlook the main hall everything looks fine:
But if I move a few feet forward through the doorway this happens -
Again, from the lower area. Super bright in the main hall:
then when I move a few feet backwards through the entrance to the stairwell leading behind, it looks like this:
I hope someone who reads this recognizes this issue. I tried switching to silent horizons 2 after encountering this problem in Natura, and while the effect visible in these screenshots at Dragonsreach (of the lighting becoming more washed-out in certain areas, even just depending on where you are standing in the same cell) *is* present in the other enb to a slight extent, its not even remotely close to being as extreme as this one and I may never have noticed if I wasn't looking for it, so I'm not sure if its anything else in my load order. It's not just in modded interiors either, another example is in Bleak Falls Barrow, the initial area looks correct but as soon as I get past the bandits' fire-pit and go down into the dungeon everything becomes very bright and washed-out.
I've had Adaptation problems in other enbs but adaptation depends on what you're looking at - with this it's just where you are. It only happens in interiors.
Ah yeah, you might be having some issues with your load order, or missing a few patches, or something else, you notice it waaaay more with this enb because it was tuned specifically for lux, therefore, any other kind of lighting will look bad, try sorting your load order, look for patches, I personally reinstall the Lux patch hub periodically as I add mods from time to time and one of those may have a patch for it
You're right, it appears to have been Lux load order stuff. A lot of compatibility issues with Immersive Citizens, which I finally gave up on. It's good that I found this out because some of these problems were probably happening for a long time, I just hadn't noticed yet because the ENBs I'd previously used were not quite as sensitive.
I have a problem: My own huge-modding assembly going up for 244+ FPS without active ENB. But when I'm start playing with any ENB preset (Alexa's ENB or Rudy's addon for NAT.ENB, for example), then my FPS going from 244+ to ~10-20 maximum... I still dunno what happen and why my PC support DirectX11 only with stable FPS in another games, not in Skyrim SE. I trying many things to fix that s**t, with many many new games upper 30-40 character lvl, inclusive. But playing with 10-30 FPS in interiors and 5-10 FPS in exteriors is so f**king tr... So, anyone can offer me HOW MUCH MUCH MUCH PERFORMANCE LIKE ENB preset? And yes, I'm already tested some of popularity Performance like presets. It's firstly, help me only for upgrade my FPS to 40+ (not 244+ as usual) and secondly, looks like very raw and ugly... Very ugly. Like, I'm still playing without normal quality ENB on LE skyrim version with DirectX9. I'm very tired to challenge with my PC, settings, ENBs and other things... So, I'm only wonder for knowleage from players who have ENB presets, which run theirs skyrims on 244+ FPS with enbseries.ini samely how if without active ENB. Actually, for Lux and NAT.ENB preset, cos I'm user of those guys.
Yes, I can play without ENB continue with 244+ FPS, but... But with very raw and ugly picture... I hate vanilla Skyrim graphycs. And only playing on ENB. And yes, thats NOT cos I'm wrong around SkyrimPrefs.ini or enblocal.ini etc. It's not depend on this. If they are wrong for that moment - I'm still have 10-20 FPS without any active ENB. I asked only for performance preset.
Writed with help of translator. Thanks for understanding.
It's impossible to reach that amount of fps with an enb, no matter what, at this point you may want to try Community Shaders and all of it's add-ons, it's an alternative that might not tank your fps
The fact of what I have some problems with Community Shaders and another addons for it. I'll tested much new games and after this choose ENB (dxgi.dll and d11dx.dll).
You mean - 5-10 FPS maximum is okay for any ENB preset? I've seen how many other players playing with very light-weight ENBs, which boost they monitor like 60-90 FPS stable.
IIRC, and I might be wrong in this as well, ENB also uses your CPU for resources, so you need to have good CPU and GPU. I think the reason why you're losing frames like that is because it's using too much resources. I used to use Silent Horizons ENB and I get 25-45 FPS with it, and I'm using Ryzen 5 5600X with GTX 1660 @ 16GB of RAM. Your best bet, if you want to be able to play at a reasonable frames, is play at 75% resolution. For example, if you're playing at 1920x1080 then I suggest you play at 1600x900.
I did that on my playthrough and I get a stable 60 at most times and it goes down to 40~ around a chaotic scene.
Optimized textures also helps. There are tons of them here at nexus just type at the search bar "Optimized" (without the quotations) and sort it by downloads, and use those.
Yes, ENB kinda sucks but it's a sacrifice you must do, if you really want to make your game look better.
All things, which some other players are reccomend for me, like: - updating drivers - some other weather presets (Azurite, Obsidian, NAT, Vivid etc) - low quality (window) monitor 800x600, 1280x720 and 1600x900 didnt helped me.
In discussions before (in another same comments) - I came to the conclusion that I still do not have enough resources. Because other players similarly didnt see anything that would prevent me from playing beyond 60 FPS with a light ENB preset and settings. So, for now I trying to switch to more powerful CPU. I will see later result, after much of tests again. Maybe it's helped or maybe not.. I'm not sure for now. But anyway, thanks too for offers.
Perhaps someone here could help me out, either the brightness or contrast (or both) are really high and it's hard to see during the daytime (like near blinding and white-washed out). At night it's bright enough where I can see properly, even interiors are a bit too bright. I was wondering if I need to tinker with the enbseries.ini file or am I missing a specific mod that helps.
Addendum(edit):
Figured out how to get the UI to open (it was Shift+Enter, not the End Key), plus I was able to figure out why my game was looking white-washed out. It was a setting named NLA, I switched it to default and my game became less washed out with brightness.
Another preset that I like a lot, I find some elements I like of other enb presets togheter here! I am quite glad I'm trying other presets even if I have already some that I love, it's always interesting to change a find something different! I just have to tweak the lightambientintensity in interns, sometimes it's too dark, sometimes too bright (happens on many other presets too anyway)
This preset here is a thing of beauty and balance. It doesn't try to be fancy, different or over-the-top, doesn't boast realism, there's literally nothing out of place, crazy, blinding or distracting here. It's just a delicately fine-tuned beauty with a clean modern look, the cleanest I've come across at least. Had it on my last playthrough and I can't wait to go back to it now. Thank you for sharing it.
this is some soul nourishing skin cleansing mental health improving stuff right here. I'm loosing frames here and there but it looks so good I don't even care
how do I disable the dirty camera lens effect? it's the only thing I don't like, makes me constantly wipe my screen lol
Oh yeah, I couldn't figure out why fire was red, but selecting the orange (or yellow, can't remember exactly what it was) flames in the FOMOD did the trick for me. Thanks for checking it out, I'll add the flames thing in the description.
There's actualy an option of which Fire to use. Its been a few months since I've set that up, but I think options were red, orange, yellow - somewhere in the mids of the FOMOD. Also, not sure if it was within LUX (that modified it) or Embers itself.
Oh yeah, I found out it was the postpass, but I'm lazy to rebalance that and I'm figuring out some other stuff, like the eye adaptation and why it's a bit funky on interiors, anyway, the color options from Embers XD saved me, I added installation instructions to the description
Can I just say, THANK YOU for finally setting up bloom, spec and complex light caused spec for skins. Like...the complex light spec is the worst offender, nobody seems to edit. ;_; Not one single ENB I ever had, had that s#*! dialed down or actually set up in a good way. Nobody wants massive Bloom on their skin, nor do I want to look like a crazy person covered in melted plastic.
I am so, so happy you took care of this. Very much appreciated. I only had to dial down subsurface and spec a tiny bit. Nothing necessarily on your end. I use ALT2, and one can't fit it to every skin texture out there.
I love the whole set up. Other than a very weird glowing torch in Alternate Starting cell with LUX (I haven't taken care of to look into what's wrong, pretty sure something on my end x'D...gonna look on the weekend.), all just works flawless.
And so much reduced shimmering and flickering, whilst keeping sharpness. Amazing! Particles behave extremely nice as well. Depth Of Field is excellent. This is by far the best ENB I tried. And I tried many. Please continue to fine tune it. It's worth it!
Thanks! <3
Edit: I add this for others. If you can't use EmbersXD like me (I would like to, but I am autistic, and the new glowing embers give me sensory issues. It's not that I am happy about that. But I can't really chose.), and are still on EmbersHD+Firemod(I use Inferno Fire Effects Redux), just get EmbersXD and you only need the torchpermanent01.nif and its textures. Which would be mx_fire.dds and the mx_fireatlas06t.dds. As this mod is adapted to be used with XD, this will work perfectly. Inferno Fire Redux's wall mounted torch can't be used. Smoking Torches and Candles works fine as well, thou it might be a bit of a sad wall torch. x'D I didn't test any other variant that might be existing in another fire mod, because I knew EmbersXD will work. So I just got that one. And use the orange glow version from EmbersHD. :)

I also instantly disabled all the sharping, makes it look better. Is it normal that when using Embers XD the fire is red?

Also funny you use the same configuration hotkeys as me. I only knew because I by mistaken pressed it.
