Looked at the original plugin again, and I don't see the Ebony Smithing requirement, despite it being on the description page. So, you don't need the Ebony Smithing perk on the original mod nor on this one. You do need Arcane Blacksmith to temper it though.
Hello there! I am looking to make an expanded version of the OG mod as well and sent a message on its page but I've seen the author isn't working on it anymore so since you worked on it I wanted to reach out to you because I have an issue with the assets of the gauntlet in my game. It's all bloomy and just look like a giant ball of light cause of the ENB effects I use both ENB and reshade but the issue is linked to ENB as disabling reshade change pretty much nothing, to be precise the issues are linked to the enable bloom (the ball of light part) and the enable ambient occlusion part (causes flickering little lights on the wielder's body/armor.) Here are some screenshots:

Disabling both enable bloom and enable ambient occlusion in ENB menu fixes the issue completely but I would like to be able to keep them (also the slight bloom on the little blue runes all around the gauntlet are pretty sick, it's just all the rest that ruins it :(). Did you face this issue on your side? Is it an issue on most/all ENB with this mod? Is there a way to fix it without making the runes dark as F?
Can't say that I have. I didn't do anything with the meshes or textures; I just placed the gems from the mod in the world. Disabling/reducing bloom and AO are probably the only ways around it, unless you feel like messing with the gauntlet's meshes and textures. The original mod author is the only one who would know much about the gauntlet side of things.
Yeah I understood you just moved the gems but I thought you may have had ENB when you tested it and faced issues or not.
I changed the gauntlet textures already but for some reasons they are super reflective with enb. and even without, I wanted to add a more complex gem like aspect to the runes but it still look like plain bright color even after I did. I think it's not from the texture file but from another dds in the texture folder that might cover reflectiveness. I'll look into it.
At this point, with how far you have to go through the game to get all the gems, I feel the gauntlet should do more. The OG description only says it allows 100% off for destruction spells. I don't know if it's just my game but having to unlock Neloth's enchanting room AND make it all the way to the Chantry of Auriel is pretty late game if just doing vanilla, without utilizing any of my New Lands mods. Just seems like it should provide something more, or unique.
I know your mod is only placing the stones around and not really altering the mod itself too much, so this might not be the place for this. Just something to think about if you plan to make your own version or something of the sort. I vastly prefer this method you've made rather than the original project.
Also I have finally gathered all the stones legitimately and I cannot craft the gauntlet at the Atronach Forge. I put all six of the gems into the offering box, along with a pair of Brown Gloves (BaseId 261c1) and the Sigil Stone being in its place. Pulling the handlebar consumes everything within the box, but produces a Daedric Glaive instead. Any thoughts or fixes?
It sounds like you have a weapon mod overwriting the Atronach Forge Recipe formlist. I don't know of any tools that can resolve these automatically, so you'd have to either resolve it manually in SSEEdit (which means just dragging the Magnus Gauntlet formlist entries over and making sure the entry numbers for them match) or uninstalling the weapon mod. You could also possibly make a FormList Manipulator patch, but I have no idea how FLM works really.
You're very right, I should've messed around more with my load order before commenting, my apologies. I got it fixed and I'm very satisfied with the effort I put in to acquire it. Thank you!
lovely mod and amazing its an esl replacer too, but i would love to know where the stones are placed. pictures would be nice too since they are pretty small objects (or are we looking for chests?)
Okay, I've searched all of Skyrim for the gems, but I cannot find the four I'm missing. I have the Illusion and Alteration gems already. Illusion was in Nightcaller Temple while Alteration was...somewhere in Skyrim. I kinda forgot. The only place I haven't checked is Mehrunes' Shrine, which I think the Destruction gem is at, but I haven't done that quest yet so I'm uncertain about its veracity. Are you willing to provide me with the locations of the remaining gems, or at least hints as to where they're at?
Elsewhere in Skyrim? Alright, I'll keep searching. Best of luck to me!

Since you said I was on the right track, I'm guessing the Conjuration Gem is inside the Shrine, since Mehrunes' symbol is that of an Oblivion gate. This means the Destruction Gem could be literally anywhere, though I'm guessing it's inside another Daedric Shrine, or even the Midden. Perhaps near the Atronach Forge.
For the other gems, the Alteration Gem is inside Bromjunaar Sanctuary, while the Illusion Gem is inside Nightcaller Temple. I'm guessing the Enchanting Gem is inside of Tel Mithryn because Neloth has the highest enchanting stat in the game. I already checked the College for it and found nothing.
Since the Enchanting Gem is likely in Solstheim, I'm guessing there's one for Dawnguard, too, but I can't be sure if it's inside Fort Dawnguard, Harkon's Castle, or the Forgotten Vale. I haven't gone to Dayspring Canyon yet.
That marks the end of my thoughts. Time to search for the gems while doing quests.

Do you know if it will be compatible with the Hall of the Forgotten if I select THE MAGNUS GAUNTLET (ESL Flag) in the screen below?

Thanks for reading me and take care!
