AS OF 4.4 DRAGONS WILL NOW USE ALL THEIR SHOUTS YES EVEN ALDUIN HE WILL EFFECTIVELY USE ALL 13 OF HIS SHOUTS! I MANAGED TO SOLVE THE MAJOR PART OF THIS MOD BY FORCING THE AI TO EFFECTIVELY USE EVERY SINGLE SHOUT IN THEIR ARSENAL!
6.5 IS HERE! FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH TALKATIVE DRAGONS! CHECK THE MOD PAGE AND CHANGE LOGS FOR CHANGES AND NEW FEATURES. IF YOU LIKE THE MOD PLEASE ENDORSE <3
Ancient Nord Heroes Use Thu'um just got released! It does similar stuff with Dragons Use Thu'um but focuses on the Ancient Nord Heroes Hakon, Gormlaith and Felldir giving them new AI and fully voiced shouts!
GUYS WE REACHED 2k ENDORSEMENTS AND 430K DOWNLOADS! I CANNOT DESCRIBE THE JOY YOU ALL GIVEN ME! I WAS NEVER EXPECTING THIS SORT OF SUCCESS FOR THIS MOD! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Also DrMonop's separated the Patches from the Main Mod so now you can install them individually without installing the whole mod whenever there is a patch update or etc! Full credit goes to DrMonop's! <3
6.5 IS HERE! Remade every shout from scratch along with all patches. Dragon AI is also remade from scratch with new combat styles! Invisibility Shout is added to MCM. Paarthurnax's Blizzard has a damaging frost spike effect now! Alduin's Firestorm shout is revamped with better textures and he also has Frost Blizzard Shout now! Alduin's End Times Shout throws everyone backwards and drains their magicka, health, and stamina now! Remade all patches and added Real Life Dragon Fast Travel Patch to FOMOD! Added more sound fx for diversity! Will update the showcase video too sometime!
I also made a Shout List for Regular Dragons to see which variant uses which shouts!
Just noticed today that the legendary dragon I fought never once used fire breath or frost breath. Just kept hitting me with unrelenting force and drain vitality over and over, and would often use the phantom form shout. Spawned in an ancient dragon to test further, and it never once used fire breath or frost breath, either. Lastly, spawned in a serpentine dragon, and it used fire breath a couple of times, but honestly it mostly just sat there staring at me while hovering.
I don't have any mods that modify dragons, other than Edmond's Alduin and Durnehviir and Talkative Dragons. Should I just disable unrelenting force? Anything I should do to test further?
UPDATE: Something is definitely up with this latest update. The AI seems busted. Durnehviir does absolutely nothing but fly around and hover in place, and regular dragons just spam drain vitality and unrelenting force, never using any other shouts. Disabling those two shouts in the MCM just causes the dragons to fly around doing nothing but taunting. Like I said before, I've got zero mods that modify dragons, other than Edmond's Alduin and Durnehviir and Talkative Dragons. They never created an issue before.
UPDATE #2 W/ POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Okay, I decided to uninstall and reinstall this mod, its patches, AND Talkative Dragons and now the dragons are behaving like they should. In fact, the change in behavior was immediately noticeable. Seems like last time I updated this mod, I ran into some weird issues and ended up correcting them by uninstalling and reinstalling this mod, its patches, AND Talkative Dragons. Going forward, I'll probably just repeat this process for any updates. This mod is simply too good to pass up.
For anyone having issues with weird AI behavior, try doing what I did and see if it corrects the issue.
This is basically ks dragon overhaul 2 but lighter and without the horrible crashing and broken quests.
Would you ever consider an option or even optional file that lets dragons use more eccentric shouts at an earlier rank? It'd be cool seeing elder dragons using phantom form or regular dragons using dismay.
It seems my dragons are not working quite right. I didn't notice them using any new screams other than their breaths. And they also don't want to fly, they mostly land on the ground and start attacking with their breath from afar. I also use several other mods that change the dragons. My loading order: https://imgur.com/a/yI84yxV
Cant see your load order fully due to Better Dragon Breath plugin info covering things up but you also seem to be using a lot of dragon mods. I need to see your load order again but if you use too many dragon mods that will effect dragons regardless if you are using patches sadly :( Also are you using the latest version?
I'm sorry, I didn't immediately notice that some patches were blocked. Here's another screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/abp7ZfG
And yes, I'm using the latest versions of all mods and patches. I have installed another patch for the Simply Stronger Dragons mod and the dragons have started to behave better, ordinary and bloody dragons now use the cry of ruthless power, but they still do not want to fly, but instead land on the ground and attack with their breath or in close combat.
Ok thats much better. So I see some issues here. Firstly, simply stronger dragons needs to go before Dragons Use Thu'um, start by fixing that. Dragons Use Thu'um should overwrite all dragon mods. Next all your dragon mod load order needs to match your patch load order. Your dragon load order needs to be: Dragon War, Better Dragon Breath, Durnehviir God of Death, Simply Stronger Dragons THEN Dragons Use Thu'um (You should decide which among those mods you want priority, but you are using too many so that is bound to mess up their AI so maybe cut down some dragon mods) Anyway then your patch order should be like this: DragonsUseThuum - Dragon War Patch, DragonsUseThuum - Better Dragon Breath Patch, DragonsUseThuum - Durnehviir God of Death Patch and DragonsUseThuum - Simply Stronger Dragons Patch. But again because you are using tooo many dragon mods they all edit each other, and effect dragon AI. I would use maybe 2 or max 3 depending on how they affect dragons. I personally use only Deadly Dragons, Durnehviir God of Death and Dragons Use Thu'um followed by their patches
Hello, I'm sorry if you already answered this, the mod work (and it's awesome thank you) instead of one thing, dragons not pronounce their shouts, did I miss something? (I installed patch and your mod is in priority on other dragon mods)
Does the patch for "Zim's Dragon Improvements (FULL VERSION ONLY)" imply that the Heavy and Light versions are incompatible or that they don't need patches?
I'm currently using the main file ver. 6.5-update when I installed your new optional patch the Better Dragon Breath is missing a master your DragonsUseThuum.esp. I'm using MO2 for clarification.
Nvm I saw that your new patch just adds new esp the mainfile is still needed for the meshes and textures silly me..
I was talking to the Chaos Dragon Tweaks and Restarter's Random Patches authors I was getting a VAER patch made whilst also talking about Thu'um and Restarter was able to open the mod and make a Thu'um patch also!
If you wanna take a look at it https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/144875?tab=files&file_id=617784&nmm=1
Hey, is the Chaos Dragons patch fully compatible with this Chaos Dragons Tweak? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/136577 It's a much-needed fix for the original mod
