    General Follower Framework Issues (Humanoid Vampire Lord)

    If you run into a situation where Serana cannot revert back to a human.
    Open the console and select Serana.
    Type " setrace vlrnnordseranarace " and hit enter.
    This should revert her back and resolve the issue.

    If you run into a situation where Valerica cannot revert back to a human.
    Open the console and select Valerica.
    Type " setrace vlrnnordvalericarace " and hit enter.
    This should revert her back and resolve the issue.

    Most follower frameworks refresh's the Vampire Lord NPC's under certain conditions (cell load,....) 
    Their wings may disappear due to this.
    If you have the activation patch, then you may simply talk to them and their wings may come back.
    (Sometimes you have to revert form and retransform)
    If you don't have the activation patch, then you will need to revert form and talk to them.
    (This will revert them back to human form and once you transform again the issue should be resolved)


    How to exclude NPC's from Racial Skin Variance:

    Note that you need to select a Racial Skin Variance option in VLrn Pack 01 if you have it installed, unless the option doesn't appear for you.

    Quick minor question. Is there anyway for the female player character to use female animations for walking/running when grounded and sheathed?

      My mod uses the human skeleton and the human body meshes, so if someone were to convert animations to support the Vampire Lord race, then that may be possible. 

      The only existing custom animations are built for the Vanilla monster form and HVL.

      actually, the HVL Bats Power Fix that you linked to in your install instructions also has another optional file for female anims in VL form using Dynamic Animation Replacer (DAR).  Might want to add that as an option for other users.  I just tried it and it works :)

      also, you dont have to use the specific female anims that come with it, you can swap out different anims into the same folder if you wish.

      What is the issue? Ctd, invisibility, etc.

      6.1.1+ adds one vampire lord race to only the armor addons in the VLrn plugins.

      6.2 adds all the loaded vampire lord races to those specific armor addons upon game reload. The patch may load slower on game reload due to the bulk adding of races. 

      Both armor patches use Dylbills Functions.

      Tested race compatibility condition and the issue is not directly caused by my mod. Racecond breaks HVL framework SKSE,because it also patches similar hooks like getisrace,etc. When they are both, installed the game failed to find the right vl race and reverted to using the default humanoid race.

      This is not something I can currently patch as I don't have experience with skse plugins.You should ask the author of Humanoid Vampire Lords Framework SKSE,if they can patch it and it's a direct mod conflict with their mod.

      Hi there! Developer of the SKSE framework here. If this DLL is something specific to UBE (As in only UBE will use it) I am not (overly) interested in patching for this, as this uses xybak, to destructively overwrite code. it looks like if the function fails it will call the original though, like it should. SKSE loads plugins alphabetically so maybe try renaming the VRLProxy.dll to something like AVLRProxy.dll to load mine first, but beyond that, it's a no.

    Is it possible to make a patch using a Sky Patcher for different substitutes for Serana and Valerica, for example? ColdSun, for example, has already released several packs with Sky Patcher...

      Do you mean removing the plugin files(.esp) and opting for Sky Patcher or to be able to change Seranas appearance in game.

      Both is doable, if the relevant scripts exist, but I can only work on it when i have time.

      According to your video instructions, I tried to make a patch for the mod "Coldsun's Selects - The Supernaturals - NPC Replacers"
      (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/129077 ), so that
      Serana and Valerica would have a humanoid appearance, but apart from
      endless CTDs, I couldn't do anything. I thought that Sky Patcher could
      simplify the use of different substitutes for Serana and Valerica
      without the additional difficulties and xEdit.

      The reason why I make the patches and template npcs:With a template npc I don't have to modify every patch if I want to add spells to Serana etc. Skypatcher could be an alternative for that issue. Even spid. 

      Why I make the patch in the 1st place: Most modders don't include the headparts that they used to create their replacer. When an npc switches race, they recreate their head from the headpart data in their plugin, but modders delete these headparts in order to probably save space or because they sculpted the head and don't know the morph data values for the ck. The npc also needs a special race or the tint will fail. Face Discoloration Fix only resolves the skin tone and that's why you have to merge the makeup with the head texture.

      If skyrim read the head data from the facegen mesh in all instances, then the patches would be unnecessary. 

      Why you get a ctd: you assigned a wrong skeleton node in the headpart mesh, your headpart is not converted for SSE or your headpart has a skeleton issue. Most ctds are mesh and skeleton related issues.

    May i request a patch for the ygnord Race by tktk1?
    ygnord is a race option provided when installing enhanced character edit(https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12302).
    I've only ever used custom races, so I never thought of becoming a Vampire Lord, but when I saw this mod today, I felt a bit hopeful.
    I know it's difficult, but I would appreciate your help.

    Is there a way to disable that annoying dialogue pop up after loading a save game? it makes my game bugged out, and cant do anything. The game froze right after the dialogue popped up.

      If you are getting a messagebox, without using the debug options in the mcm, then you either have bugged json files or downloaded a debug version of the mod from the comment section. Reinstall the respective update file and main file and ensure that you have the relevant requirements.

    The newest powerofthree's Papyrus Extender Update mentions this on it's log: 


    GetSkin/HairColor and GetLightColor are now deprecated since excessive use of those functions lead to memory leaks. Use GetSkin/HairRGB to get color as an int array.


    Does that change affect this mod in any way? Or should I keep an earlier build of that mod?

      I'm only using getformfromeditorid, getispluginloaded, addbasespell and removebasespell. If those functions are unaffected, then you can update.

    I have Ult wings installed, selected a set from the settings but no wings show. The mod works as I have Blood Dragon wings unlocked and able to use. It also appears that the PC wings option doesn't work either

    Also having issues with setting my outfit, sometimes it'll save and sometimes it won't

      If you have wing issues it's either caused by an installation issue or mod conflict. Scroll down as there were recent comments with the same problem. Some were fixed after installing the proper requirements.

      In regards to the outfit issue, if you are using 6.1.03 then you need to install the outfit revision update file. If your mcm is bugged(not loading options), it's likely because you didn't install the outfit revision update and tried to set your outfit more than once. The only way to resolve this is to either clean your save with resaver or start a new game and finally install the update file. If you need to clean your save, there is also instructions in the below recent comments. The bugged mcm could also be a reason for why the wings don't work.

      Figured it out, the issue was I didn't have Patch 07. Works as intended now. Also the patch fix for the outfit fixed my issue as well, thanks

    Hello,

    i noticed 'Dylbills Papyrus Functions' was added to deps, i want to know the the lowest version needed by the newer version of vlrn, as db's mod works not that good in my modlist (random ctds after i tried to update it to 7.x, 8.x ...), i had to switch back to 6.6 for stable gameplay, is 6.6 capable for vrln to function well? thanks!

      You will need version 8.9. The need for the mod, is specifically for the armor addon functions added in version 8.9. Without it, certain armors may become invisible depending on your race.

      I kept pack 01 6.1.03 and the update 6.1.03a specifically for the ctd problem. They don't require Dylbills Papyrus Functions. If you do downgrade, then follow the instructions in some comments down below on how to clean your save, or you may experience bugs.

    I cannot seem to get this mod to work for the life of me. I'm using the GTS collection but even turning off all of the vampire lord stuff doesn't some to work. I just end up with a big blue untextured VL.
    Any pointers in the right direction would be immensely appreciated.

      Set the options in the MCM appropriately. Make sure you have the right version of the mod and any necessary patches selected.

      Do you want to use the Vanilla Vampire lord form?

      If so, you will need to configure the VLrn mcm options as FrogMan72 said.

      Set the appropriate form in the relevant section. 

      Set your vanilla Vampire lord armor options in the features section and that should now give your vampire lord, armor. 

      If you want to use HVL features, then ensure that you downloaded all the relevant requirements, the appropriate update file and main file. Then install the files and sort your load order according to the installation instructions on the description page. Launch skyrim and configure the mcm. 

      If you are still facing an issue, its likely an installation issue or mod conflict.

      I'm trying to use the humanoid form.
      Though after extensive testing it seems to be a mod conflict though I am unsure of what mod is causing it since I disabled all the vampire mods to test.

    Wow.. just wow. This is the best Vampire Lord mod I never thought I needed. It fixes and replaces unwanted bugs that are caused with the Vampire Lord form plus adds Humanoid Vampire Lords as optional. Meaning if you still want your or any other vampire or Serana to use the vanilla form you can with all the features. Absolutely no excuse to not use this. Has a ton of patches too. Thankyou so much for making Vampy fun even more fun and immersive!

    After installing and activating your mod, CTD occurs on the main screen. Crash logs show 5E1F22, which I understand happens when there is no master plug-in. All the leading modes are installed and this only happens in that mode.
    I'm not good at English, so I'm using a translator. I'm sorry if it was hard for you to understand.

      Did your mod manager tell you, what master files you were missing? 

      If you are using MO2, then there is a warning icon that you can click on and it will display the master file that is missing. 

      There are different required mods depending on your choices in the fomod, so I can't tell you what you are missing. 

      It's possible that you have a newer version of a mod, that renamed it's plugin and has made my patch incompatible.

      If you don't need the above linked mod or already have it, then I don't think I can help, because I haven't encountered a ctd on the main screen unless a master was missing or the above mod wasn't installed on a old skyrim version.

      Sorry to bother you so many times. I checked that the mod works, but Serana's face becomes the "potato face". I'm using the "moologogi" replacer, and I confirmed it's compatible during the mod installation. Valerica hasn't confirmed it yet, but it's expected to be the same symptom. What should I do?

      If you installed VLrn Pack 02 and let it overwrite pack 01.

      I'd advise you to ensure that your load order matches the installation instructions on the description page.
