  1. the number of requirements for this mod, and complete lack of instructions on how to use those requirements, specifically the "dyndqlod" separate program, just point out everything wrong with the skyrim modding community. i shouldnt have to download half a dozen different mods to use every mod on here, nor google around for instructions written in some other language machine translated into barely coherent text. just include what your mod needs to work with the mod, and PROPER INSTRUCTIONS if youre gonna require the use of some arcane 3rd party program.

Well, you're asking too much. They won't even post a suggested load order

these guys literally sacrifice hundreds of hours of their lives to make these mods just to share them for free. And dyndolod is not arcane, its one of the most essential parts of the modding toolbox. You are such an asshole holy s#*!

"Please read the readme before contacting me. I've tried to include the most common problems and the fixes in it."

    Okay...where is this document?

Should be found in the downloaded archive or once the mod is installed -> Majestic Mountains Readme.txt

Is there any way I can use this together with Simplicity of Snow? (BDS has too much compatibility checks for me to go through)
    Does anybody know a patch?

Hey, after a lot of headaches and help from guys in the Community Shaders discord, we realized this mod uses steel cubemaps for the big mountains for some reason. This, when using dynamic cubemaps, makes the mountains look as if they're made of steel (unsurprisingly). Could you fix the cubemaps to use regular mountain ones (as i assume they're supposed to). here are a couple images to show how it looks like

I wish the mod author could fix this issue (and some of the issues addressed on this page). The mod itself would be great, but some of these issues are a showstopper for me.

Hi, I'm the author of ParallaxGen. Some users are running into issues running ParallaxGen with MMCM + ML and I just had a few questions based on things I've noticed. ParallaxGen looks for complex material maps by their suffix (_m.dds, _em.dds, or mask.dds). When I go into some of your meshes it looks like you are using a _p.dds file as the complex material file. Is that intentional? If so, could you help me understand the logic behind it so I can make ParallaxGen aware of it?

    Thanks!

Edit: I guess the main thing I'm confused about is what is the difference between _p.dds (which seems to be CM), and mask.dds files? Also, why do you have both a heightmap and a CM map on some meshes?

I also have this issue when using Parallaxgen with this mod, any way around it?

This was fixed a long time ago as long as you have "map textures from meshes" enabled in advanced options which is the default. If you still have issues it's a PG priority issue you can adjust in your priority order

This mod causes issues with lighting on certain models namely the moss and tundra rocks, which causes lighting like this. I have "fixed" it myself by going into Nifskope for each of the affected rocks and deleting the moss layer. Before and After images below.

Sorry, I don't know where to ask this question.
Some of the rocks have this texture, and they also shine without being affected by shadows, so what could be causing this problem?
This may not be what I'm asking here, but I couldn't solve the problem by changing the texture order or load order, and I was at a loss.

I tried removing various meshes and checking, but I think there is a problem with rockpilem01tundra.nif, rockpilem02tundra.nif, and rockpilel03moss.nif.
If you remove these, the parallax won't work properly on the rock and it will look like it's melted, but the abnormal lighting will be resolved.

Open rockpilem02tundra.nif with NifSkope, click in 20 BSTriShape, double click in Alpha Property and remove the content. It must display "none". Save the nif. Do the same with the other NIF´s, clicking in the problematic BSTriShape.
