how difficult would you say it is to create this type of mod, if I was able to I'd make some maps for undone world spaces for mods such as Beyond Reach
Beyond Reach is in work and will be released relatively soon. considering other worldspaces that not yet covered - if I have tech part done and traced image ready (top-down satellite-like map) for given worldspace, then its relatively easy, you outlining contours in your preferred editor (PS/GIMP/Procreated/Wonderdraft/Inkarnate/etc) and adding all the stuff as assets or drawing things manually. I have those images for Kirkmore and Wyrmstooth rn (existing Wyrmstooth map is outdated). for other worldspaces you will need to do all the job yourself, compiling meshes and preparing traced image (could be done by shooting in CK or with a help of minimap), that's a lot of job tbh, if you want to make it precise.
damn, I didn't know you were working on Akavir, that's a pleasant surprise. maps look great. I will check things out (just in case) and ofc whitelist those worldspaces in next FWMF update.
btw, Flat Map Markers for all Skyrim versions are included in FWMF FOMOD (SE due to MIT, other 2 versions after authors permission), so it's not a requirement anymore. its ok if you would like to keep it as requirement as a token of respect to author, but mind please, that Ryan's version which you have listed won't work on any Skyrim newer than 1.5.97.
EDIT: one more note - meshes for 3 worldspaces here use tamriel's background in FWMF, back.dds, which not always black right now (FWMF FOMOD has an option to pick one with an art), so you may not like how it will look or consider it doesn't fit well to Akaviri theme. here is an example:
if that's the case, you will need to add back.dds of your own to textures.
Good point on the back.dds! I didn't include for fear of overwriting peoples customized replacements for the pure black version. But if it's an issue for anyone I can certainly add it here. As for the map markers, I tend to default to that requirement list as I know I have my bases covered then and am still working with 1.5.97 myself but also a good observation for those unsure so thanks for that!
Nice to see you around again too! Did you ever get to investigating that oddity with the Masmers map? Not that I'm losing any sleep over it since the mod faded into obscurity thanks to some high ranking releases the same day lol
could you please remind me how exactly to recreate that oddity with Masmers map? if I remember correctly we are talking about 180 degrees turn of a camera when player is in child worldspace?
and cheer up about Mesmers, if it will be included to wabbajack lists, its popularity will skyrocket like it deserves.
Guessing from Akavir - The curse of the immortals since I see highplains to the north west?
Curse of Akavir - Phoe is shaped different.
Also besides Beyond Reach there are many other New Land mods that need maps done:
Summerset Isle - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/72004 Shumer World - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28039 Moonpath - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4341 Falskaar - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2057 Warden of the Coast - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/79828 World of Rudra - Off site
Falskaar is covered, there is old Duncan's map for it (tho smth more sophisticated would be nice ofc). I'd think twice about mapping Summerset Isle, author (no matter how ridiculous it sounds) may be against it. Moonpath is no-go right now due to technical limitations (iirc). other worldspaces need to be checked.
Summerset Isle & Shumer are on my radar as I'm currently focusing on clearing mods I currently have installed (also Unslaad & Glenmoril as mentioned below, and Maslea). Moonpath is probably not possible since it doesn't actually use any worldspaces, and is all built in interior cells - at least not without some alteration to the setup of the main mod which is outside of my scope at present.

Thanks for your mod! It's really beautiful!
Is this suitable for new akavir 2.0?
Is it perhaps possible to get a map for The Shire or Northpoint?
