    UPDATE : 21 NOVEMBER 2016 - VERSION 2.1 Texture Sets

All meshes have been updated with SSE NIF Optimizer to be fully SSE compliant. In addition, all Books and Journals now use a generic mesh and Texture Sets for their World View. This has allowed the removal of many duplicate meshes and reduced the size of the mod.

The 256px Normal Maps have been removed and all meshes now use the 512px Normal Map instead.

There is no longer any dependency on Book Covers Skyrim itself as this mod now contains all its own assets.

Is it compatible with the Experience mod?

It may be... from the Experience mod description it says "No esp file, no scripts, no impact on performance" and seems to run off book value when reading. Since BCSLL is an ESP and Script, there should not be a conflict but I don't know. I have not played Skyrim for around 8 or 9 years now so am less aware of current mods.

      Thank you for the answer.
For the future generations, I confirm, it works nicely :)

Is this able to be added mid-save/game?

It should be, yes. It may take a while before Merchants start showing the books in inventory.

Will you ever be expanding this mod to include Creation Club content? I noticed Saints and Seducers is added with a unique cover, but the Saints and Seducers book introduced in the CC with the same name is missing that unique cover.

No I will not be adding any new books. The cover I used was from Book Jackets Oblivion and is available for anyone to use with accreditation like I did.

Weirdly, I think it was a conflict or something on my end. After a corruption issue, I restarted and found the books all had covers now! Or maybe it was Legacy of the Dragonborn, I don't know. Regardless, I love this mod; it makes my usual bad habit of being an absolute goddamn librarian actually enjoyable.

Sorry for the necro on this post but what was corrupted and how did you fix it? I've just now got the Saints and Seducers creation after using this mod for a while and all the book covers are vanilla. I'm not using Legacy of the Dragonborn if that matters, if it's that mod which changes these covers?

Apologies for necroing the necro post. To summarize, the mod was made before AE, so none of the added books have covers. Saints and Seducers here is not the same book as the one in AE. LOTD has this mod included and applies the cover to AE if you have the CC patch.

I have had a look at the guide video on ESLs and spotted two issues which would need checking. There are cell edits in this mod which I think are OK as they are all to do with existing cells rather than new ones. The main issue is that an ESL is limited to 2048 NEW records and I think these mods may exceed that. The Lost library almost certainly will.

Beyond those issues, I no longer have a copy of Skyrim installed and am on a very slow internet connection. This makes it very difficult for me to make alterations to the mods as they are relatively large. My upload speed in particular is in Kb/s and I estimate it would take me four hours to upload each version of the mod, assuming no failures.

I am more than happy for an active modder to see if the mods can benefit from being repackaged as ESL files or even for individuals to see if it works on their own personal copies but I am afraid I simply don't have the time to do so myself.

Thinking about it, if was to do anything to the BCS mod I would really have to update them for Unofficial Patch changes at the same time which would mean doing the old Skyrim version as well as BCS SE one. I reckon that would take two half-days to download Skyrim and SE Skyrim, a few hours to get all versions of the mods down, a little bit of time to make and package the updates then six times four hours (assuming no errors) to do the uploads. There would then be about three more hours of uploading for the Lost Library SE, assuming it could actually be packaged into an ESL (which it may be too big for). Not really practical I am afraid.

just split the mod into 2 or more plugins. even 5 plugins in FE space is better than 1 plugin contributing to the limit

Is there a fully, exhaustive list of all the books added by this mod? It would help immensely for the addon I am working on.

Best way would be to look in the .ESP - I don't have Skyrim installed any more to make a list I am afraid.

@DanielCoffey It's quite alright, I took down a list by seeing your ESP as you said. I just want to thank you for your work honestly, adding so many books along with unique textures must have been such a pain. I aim to add at least 500 or so additional books, so far I have completed some dozen books with unique textures and added 394 (but they only have vanilla textures and models). Although I have run into an error.
When I drop several books together, instead of separating out around the player in the form of a circle as it normally should, it instead forms an ugly blob of several books joined at their spines. Any remedies for this? It is fine if you don't after all, it is natural that one would forget the intricacies of any method after prolonged absence. Anyways, thank you for mod, I hope I can live up to your standards when I release my addon!

I don't remember the books doing that - in fact I had some pictures with many dozens of books scattered around me in a circle. Heaps of them!

I would start by checking what world mesh you are using and make sure the books will be visible when dropped individually. If they seem alright, try dropping a few but turning a little between each drop (which is what I did).

It could be something to do with the Object Bounds - assuming you have set those up. That dictates how books react when dropped as well as shelf stacking - at least until the Havoc physics engine takes over.

If a book disappears when dropped it means you have a missing or incorrectly named World mesh. If the game crashes to desktop on mouseover a book in inventory it means the inventory mesh is not found. If the book is visible but glossy you are missing the Normal map.

      I hope that helps.

Oh, and I used an Indie Licence version of nD0 by Quixel for the normal maps. I don't know if the tool is still sold or what the price is now but it was really useful. Failing that, the free and unsupported version of CrazyBump may still work.

I'm getting crashes related to Bashed Patch, 0.esp with the same repeating formID 0x000D9F89, which leads to this mod. Maybe this can be fixed manually? I'm not sure. EditorID is LlItemBookClutter.

Edit: I think the problem may be that I'm already using Legacy of the Dragonborn. I'm seeing many book names getting repeated.

Hello, I wanted to make an addon to this mod, I already made some progress by porting about 150 books from ESO, all the books from Daggerfall, Redguard, Battlespire and Shadowkey. But, while trying to make my own textures and models I keep running into errors, like the book not opening, or having proper sounds etc. Is there any way we could discuss this, so you can help me work through these problems? I am available for contact via Discord (name --> synder0444), or Email (my gmail --> duncanfrom1998@gmail.com)
