While both mods restore much of the same content, I’ve chosen to interpret much of it more faithfully. I’ve also included some minor pieces of content that haven’t been seen before. I was mainly taking this video into account while making it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENDlU1_dwgA Aside from my design choices, the biggest differences between this mod and Cutting Room Floor are:
Frost-River Farm isn’t a village (it was never supposed to be one) It's also in its original spot and visually accurate to the original. And it gets burned down by a dragon during Diplomatic Immunity.
Iron-Tree Mill is in Haafingar Hold, and not part of Frost-River Farm
Barleydark Farm has a guard (Like what was originally intended) and is visually accurate (minus the fact the puzzle pillars weren't there originally).
Castle Dour Tower doesn’t have anyone living in it
The Missing Apprentices quest is started after listening to Phinis’ lecture (how it was supposed to be according to the Prima guide). Also, you can return one item at a time to Phinis instead of having to find all of them before you can hand them in. The reward is levelled gold (which was also mentioned in the Prima guide)
Includes Terek (in a separate esl though)
Saarthal Miners
Holdings of Jarl Gjalund book cover
Bear’s Cave Mill & Eyldi the Bear
The Supply line quest gives you the mead keg as a quest item
The Secrets of Ragnvald book is on a pedestal in the entrance of Ragnvald
I didn’t include Heljarchen content (None of the NPCs had dialogue left over so I thought they’d feel a bit out of place. The only exception is at Frost-River Farm, but that’s just Bronvir. And he dies anyway)
Solstheim Mudcrabs
Dark Chasm
Riverwatch
EEC dock worker names
Hoarfrost Grotto is in a different location
Restored the scorpion trap intended for the Forgotten Vale.
Restored a werewolf cage POI in the Whiterun tundra.
Restored the Fire, Shock, and Frost Flow spells.
Re-enabled some dialogue for Barbas.
Muril will now accompany Estormo at the end of Labyrinthian, as was originally intended.
Should mention that in Runil's dark past dialogue, he says "led" but the subtitles said "lead". This is part of the original text but something that could be tweaked.
I love your mod and found a lot of stuff you added. I do however have a few problems. I cannot get the quest from Ulren for the mead (I can sell him wheat though) and also the missing apprentices quest is not working. I finally managed to get the lecture from Phinis about the missing students but he still doesn't give me any dialogue for the quest. I went to find the students anyway, thinking that maybe when I have their possessions I can give them to Phinis, but there is the next problem. There are no bodies, apart from Yisra, but her body is emtpy so no necklace there. All the scenes are set up including for example dead skeevers and blood but there are no bodies. If I console command myself to them I get to the right place but their body is still not visible. I tried to make them visible with console commands, also does not work. So I guessed maybe you only made them appear once the quest is at the right stage. So I tried to get the quest freeformWinterholdcollegeB to move on with console commands, but that doesn't work either, the quest stage remains at 0 (but perhaps you made a new quest with a different id?).
At first I thought maybe some scripts are missing (MO2 doesnt list any script files from this mod) but other quests are working fine, such as finding the rogue wizard, Runil's past, and the new orc wife, so I'm not sure that's it. Do you have any idea what the problem might be? I don't use any other cut content mods. I also tried redownloading this mod and reinstalling. Starting a new game also makes no difference.
Thanks! The bodies all start disabled and get enabled by the quest, so that'll be why they're not there. I'm not sure why that quest wouldn't be working though. It seems to work for other people
Hi, quick question: Is this mod responsible for adding the "Unbroken Road" music track (the one using filename mus_explore_day_06.xwm, FormID 0010486B) to the exploration music playlists? I've started hearing it almost constantly during exploration since installing, and it's becoming quite irritating. Thanks!
Hi! I often see a that there is a patch for CRF but rarely for this mod. Does that mean this mod is more stable or is it just that there are no patches available? I prefer this version but I'm running a ton of mods and would like to have the most compatible version.
Hi! USSEP recently fixed some spelling including some in the Afflicted Letter this mod restores. It changes "sooth" to "soothe" and "Sumerset" to "Summerset". That is something you could include in your version too. Thank you for the mod!
Good catch! I noticed that RiverWaterFlow [WATR:01001232] is not forwarded from USSEP for 0000B4B9 WindhelmDocksExterior01. USSEP also moves a bedroll from the Z position -11583.265625 to -11584.000000, which this mod reverts. The placed object is 000D5F8A.
There is also a typo in the optional file that adds back the stable scene. The quest journal entry says: "It would seem he's transporting a coffin in a cart, but one of the wheels has broken of." of should be off.
Other than that it seems like USSEP uses a "Fragment_21" and Skyrim Cut Content Restoration a "Fragment_22" for the quest. But I am not sure what these refer to.
Yeah, i don't think that adding them outside of the city is good idea. They are clearly the richest people in Whiterun, and the absence of their houses is probably related to the fact that entire Cloud District got cut. Better to leave that to modders that would be interested in reworking entire Whiterun.
Maidenloom's house and Wintersand Manor are the two things stopping me from making the switch from CRF to this. The two Wintersand mods currently on the nexus don't fit with what I'd want.
Best way to implement that is to restore the Cloud District, as it was originally supposed to be more than just Dragonsreach. My condolences to any modder brave or foolhardy enough to try and tackle that.
Capital Whiterun Manors Addon adds Wintersand Manor and Maiden-Loom manor to Capital Whiterun Expansion (which also expands on the Cloud District). Editing and Overhauling Whiterun City to expand the Cloud District to have space for Wintersand Manor probably goes a bit beyond this mod's aims and introduces more potential conflicts with other mods. Putting Wintersand Manor outside of Whiterun City kind of defeats the purpose of trying to stay faithful to the original intent anyways.
I've noticed another cut content restoration series made by Unorthodogg that restores scenes and interactions like Vignar talking to Balgruuf about Talos worship or Thonar going to the Silver-Blood Inn and reminding the player that they own the place. Are you planning on restoring them here too at one point?
Hi, I still need to fix a few minor bugs like some typos in a journal, but those are pretty low priority for me at the moment. I would however like to add the Brinehammer quest at some point.

Thank you so much for the mod RoastGorilla439!
Edit: Has been fixed.
Love your mods!
