For whatever reason I've not been able to access the settings for this mod within the MCM. In looking through the notes, it doesn't seem like I have any conflicting mods installed. Bit of a bummer :/
1) Its a bit overpowering. +40 (lesser ward) armor is already better than the strongest shield (Spellbreaker at 38 armor). Adding onto it a shields block negation and now Lesser Ward is the best shield in the game. I'd suggest lowering the armor granted by Ward as a counterbalance to its enhanced usability.
2) No timed block functionality (tested with Deadly Combat, Wildcat & Ordinator). Would have been a ncie and even somewhat balanced touch since it takes longer to start casting this spell than it does to raise a shield, offering a solid challenge for good results.
1: I don't think armor is taken into account when blocking with a ward. The blocking with a weapon formula is used. And even then, mages tend to not have any armor so I don't think it's overpowered. Maintaining your ward and blocking cost both magicka and stamina.
2: If you're using Deadly Combat I don't see any reason to play with my mod. Either way timed melee block with a ward seem hard to archive as Borgut1337 put it:
I think Deadly Combat also had Timed Blocks with wards. Does this mod also have that? Or are Ordinator's or Wildcat's Timed Blocking mechanics functional with wards through this mod due to keywords or whatever else could make them compatible?
This mod does not have a timed block feature. I don't know if timed blocks implemented by other mods work with wards, someone should test and report back. ;)
Tested using Deadly Combat, Ordinator and Wildcat (since I have all three at the same time) and unfortunately doesn't work.
(Or if it IS working the "Timed Block" message from Ordinator+Wildcat is not popping up for it and the stagger doesn't seem to be there, I'm not sure what Deadly Combats timed block does so I'm not sure if that one is working)
I don't know, I don't play with Ordinator. What I know is that blocking with a ward is considered by the game as blocking with a weapon. So only blocking perks that affect blocking with weapons will have an effect (some perks only affect blocking with a shield). When it comes to Ordinator perks in particular, you'll have to test.
Wards seem to not raise the restoration skill at all, even when blocking plain ol' spells, when this mod is active. I didn't see any conflicts, but I'm not the best with all of the mod utilities.
Hmm. Is it possible to change the sound effect of weapons hitting the ward? I'm not even sure if the mod is working because of it. I get little damage but the sound effect makes it seem like I got hit in the flesh. Confuses me a bit.
I thought that it was not the same sound.... I don't exactly remember. What I do remember is that I had trouble making the game playing the sound I wanted. I'll retest all of this when I can.
Could you possibly add a version that would block arrows and 50% of melee? Thinking about Patrick Stewart in Dune, "The slow blade penetrates the shield."

But they do say that it's very hard to get TB, so maybe you're just missing the timing. The guy suggests Better Wards to help.
Thanks for testing and responding.
