Had to take a break for my mental health's sake as I found myself in a situation where a lot of new changes happened very quickly, so my anxiety just mega spiked. Starting to find my way back to things and having a healthier attitude towards gaming and modding overall.
Unlocked the posts here as I feel like I'm a better place to deal with it now.
Version 1.5 - More "fitting" animation for washing your face. - Added Mur4s4me's Water in Wash Basins as a soft requirement, as I do consider it a must-have. - Cleaner scripting overall in the mod. - Removes some debug notifications that popped up when equipping/unequipping the helmet. - Should now support the use of both Dirt & Blood and Keep It Clean in tandem, if you use both of them together. Version 1.2 - Fixes a bug where the helmet would be re-equipped even if you didn't have a helmet on. - Fixes an issue where you would re-equip the helmet even if it was no longer in your possession, causing a duplication bug.
Version 1.1.0
- Added built-in Keep It Clean support - Reduced duration of spell to 2h instead of 4h (if using with KiC or D&B, you will get their effects) - Removed marker + forced player move, in order to reduce janky feeling. Follows same principle as Dirt & Blood, animation will just play and it'll work as usual. Recommend playing in first person to be closer to the basin :)
Hello there! I'd like to know how the built-in compatibility is done with Dirt and Blood. I'm using the option in D&B where "Cleaned" status can only be achieved with soap, while water bathing (such as rain or swimming, or washcloth) has a limit cleansiness of "slightly dirty". Will your wash basin cleaning reflect this, or will it give the highest "Cleaned" status?
Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. Gonna try it out then ^^
EDIT: I can't seem to interact with the wash basin. Could it be somehow incompatible with Dirt and Blood - Expanded?
EDIT 2: It seems only a few wash basin may be bugged for me, but that may be due to how object selection works. For instance, in Helijarchen Hall, the outdoor wash basin can be used in third person using BTPS. However, the option isn't here in 1st person. Even worse, the one in the master bedroom cannot be used eitherway. Console command show that it's been swapped properly, but I have no idea why I can't interact with them. That said, when it works (if I can select), it works properly. The one in the Bannered Mare that you showed in your screenshots has no issues, so I think it may be some Skyrim shenanigans.
EDIT 3: Another thing I noticed is that the wash basins lose all collisions when it's swapped.
I haven't tried it with Dirt & Blood Expanded, so it is possible there might be an incompatibility there
Also haven't experienced the lack of collisions, but it might be due to other mods I have installed :O Mod only uses vanilla meshes for the basin, so it might be that the vanilla is missing something to cause collision? tbh have very little knowledge of meshes :/ It seems to work for me when I'm using your "Water in washbasins" mod.
I'd love to fix the issues, so if you have any tips/ideas, i'd be really grateful!
I tried without any mesh replacers and there was still no collision, but maybe it's just my mod setup haha. Don't worry, the mod is still well useable despite that! If I can somehow track the cause of this one day, I'll definitely come back to let you know.
EDIT: I found the issue! I was doing a personal edit with Interactive Wash Basin's settings to see if I can get water in them (similar to my mod, but actual water), but that proved to be causing the aforementioned issues because I forgot to "complete" my edits. After doing so properly, both the selection issue and the collision issue were resolved. This is what I get for doing experimental stuff while sleep-deprived.
I'll be thoroughly enjoying using the mod in my load order from now on. Thank you!
Heyyy brother Wonderful mod youve made here, my only and i mean ONLY problem with it is that it enables the full racemenu and not the limited one in the sense that i can change my gender or race from the washing sink xD Please could you do balanced option? I just want to able to change my hair or beard or tatoos only :D
ShowLimitedRaceMenu is unstable and causes crashes if open too much, unfortunately. I intended to use the limited one, but it kept crashing, so had to opt to not use it :/
It seems like the problem was at my end; for some reason, Sink of Scrubbing was loading after D&B. The moment I changed the load order, the problem was fixed. Edit: never mind. It didn't help. Still have no idea how to fix it
When I use the Wash and Rinse ability, D&B starts to work. However, the refreshed buff has no duration; I removed its effect using the console player.Dispel command, but when I use the sink again, I get this refresh buff without any duration again. I wonder if it happens because I use D&B (for the dirtiness system) and KiC (for the baths).
That's unfortunate. I guess I will have to cancel the refreshing effect every time I want to refresh with the basin or just use the basin only for the race menu. Thanks anyway 😊
I have report on the mod; whenever I take my headgear off, after using option "Refresh Yourself" my character automatically put his headgear on again. Can you make it so that it don't automatically re-equip a headgear? So, if we use it with no helmet it stays that way and when using it with helmet then it'll do what it currently do (re-equipping the headgear).
On further notice, in conjunction with above notice, it seems that your mod 'remembers' the last headgear worn when using the "Refresh Yourself" and this create duplication bug; if the headgear in question is later sold and character didn't use any headgear while activating "Refresh Yourself", it'll automatically (and magically) puts the previous (-ly sold) headgear back on.
Anyway, thanks for great mod, it reinforces immersion and made my role-playing playthrought even more enjoyable!
I uploaded a new version that I hope addresses this problem properly. Now it clears the EquippedHelmet variable once you're done and it should work as intended where it won't re-equip anything if you didn't have a helmet on to begin with. Again, thank you for reporting this!
You note that this is inspired by Interactive Wash Basins. Is there any chance you could highlight the main differences between that mod and yours? I've used the BOS version and been relatively pleased with it, and when trying to decide whether to swap for your mod, I can't quite figure out the pros and cons. :)
There's not a ton of difference between them. Interactive Washbasins uses a .dll file that seems to be working most of the time, but not all of the time, on the latest Skyrim build (1.6.640). This is just a simpler implementation of it, so if Interactive Washbasins is working fine for you, then there's nothing wrong with sticking to it! :)
Thanks for clarifying :) I have had a few bugs with IW (including the "teleporting into a wall when washing"), so I'll give this a shot on my next playthrough.
Yes, it's hard to work with dynamic markers and getting them aligned in correct places with the basins, since they are round and can be placed in any direction :/ I tried to do it that way, but I eventually removed it - not as immersive, but no weird behaviors or bugs at least.

No support as of now, pls link the mod and I can take a look at it :) might not be a big deal to support on my end
Not the original BiS, this is the new, improved model
Thanks!
