I've re-enabled this though I consider this project shelved for the time being, I hope you all are happy now... I will not answer to people downloading the wrong file from the required mod and then end up with missing textures. Simply put - You're supposed to download >>this file<<.
I haven't had time to adapt this mod to the latest version of Elegant Werewolf Replacer, take it or leave it.

IMPORTANT!!!

  • Unless you have FSMP, chances are that you may encounter the infamous ear stretching bug. I don't know if that's because the game engine don't expect "facegen" headparts to have more nodes than that was originally coded, such as the ear nodes, or hair nodes with physics... And FYI, I believe you can always have HDT installed, even though you don't plan on installing any physics mods or the XPMSSE skeleton.

  • If you experience a missing head on werewolves, load all of your plugins in SSEEdit, find my ElegantWerewolfOverhaul.esp plugin, go to race > WerewolfBeastRace and see if any other plugin loaded after my plugin is overwriting/conflicting with said race. If you do find the culprit, please notify me via PM and I would gladly try and patch it.
  • Another reason your werewolf's head is missing would be if your character is equipped with an armor piece that takes up the head slot (30), you should probably unequip that before transforming. This was fixed in v1.3.3

  • Do not pester the OP of Elegant Werewolf Replacer with reports of bugs that my mod alone may have. If you're that desperate to resolve any conflicts, you'll be more likely to reach out for me via PM as I hardly check my comments due to personal reasons

  • Overall, take this mod as it is or do not download at all, I'm deciding that I won't accept any further requests for changes based on other's tastes, unless there's any bugs I need to fix. Also, whenever a mod of mine starts flowing with feedback, I choose not to check, so if you have anything important to say, PM's are welcome.

  • *NEW* Version 1.5.0 of the Moonlight Tales Mini add-on now comes with an experimental version where the skin system global is not disabled, instead changes one of the Moonlight Tales scripts to swap the player's werewolf headparts after transforming, to match the skin you've chosen. And if you've picked one of the werebear skins, the headparts will be replaced with blank ones, to not make them clip through. Like I said, this plugin is experimental, meaning that there may be some flaws, so use this at your own risk. A bug I did notice was that if you disable the skin system right after reverting, and then turn into a werewolf again, the ears and jaw will not align with the animation and will instead look stretched. This may go away if you save, quit the game and then reload. Also, if you're installing this add-on mid-game, I suggest that you open your latest save in FallrimTools and delete the script instance for "MTSE_Script_Player", to make the changes update properly.

And enough of my rambling...

So some of you may have figured out by now that I am the author of Monster Facial Animation, which I made like 4 years ago back when I was still a bit of an amateur at modding, slowly but surely becoming more experienced. And I'm not afraid to admit that MFA has at least a handful of flaws, some methods I used was considered rather questionable, and I feel I have improved alot more ever since. Besides, MFA is a mod I've more or less abandoned, especially ever since I deactivated my old account and no longer had access to updating it.

Anyway, after I saw the Elegant Werewolf Replacer, I was convinced that it looks far better and more realistic than the vanilla werewolf model, and I gained this spark to try and breathe even more life into it, by creating facial animation in Blender.

And basically, this mod's goal is to replace every werewolf (vanilla and modded) with the new model, which features the following:

  • Headparts separate from the body model which feature facial expressions, blinking, eye- and lip movement.

  • Individual models for both males and females which features weight morphs, inspired by Al99/VectorPlexus' Mighty Beasts - Werewolves.

The main file comes with alternate models in v1.3:

Bulkier female at weight 100
Spoiler:
Show

Skinnier female at weight 0
Spoiler:
Show

Skinnier male at weight 0
Spoiler:
Show

And for those who'd prefer their she-wolves without boobs, I've inluded options for them to have male models in the main installer.

This mod expands the elegant werewolf replacement for the following mods:

The main installer also includes small compatibility patches for the following mods:

All of the plugins are ESPFE.

Some other mods I can recommend:
  • Werewolf Eyetracking Behavior (To make werewolves' eyes look your way instead of staight forward)
  • Were-Circle (Adds simple werewolf transformation commands to Aela, Farkas and Vilkas after becoming Harbinger, supports Diverse Werewolves Collection and come with patches for NPC overhaul mods which give them standalone bodies, and these patches of mine prevent their body from being invisible in werewolf form.)
  • Open Your Mouth - Non-ventriloquist player (Has an option to animate the player's face with a snarling expression when swiping)

A few things to note:
  • Don't be alarmed over the fact that each mesh looks distorted when viewing them in NifSkope, because that always happens when I export werewolf meshes with Outfit Studio. But they appear just fine ingame.
  • I originally intended for this mod to rely on MFA, but didn't want the new headparts to interfere with the way the MFA ones are added to the actors. Unlike MFA, EWO has multiple extra parts attached to the face models, like the teeth, tongue and fur. A small downside of EWO is that it's obviously not meant for werebear players, but at some point I consider throwing together standalone but improved MFA-style replacers for both werebears and vampire lords as well, respectively, perhaps even one with the vanilla werewolf model. But I would also like to adapt them for custom remodels, for more diversity. All this is in the cards at least, nothing I immediately want to be pushed into doing.
  • *In the Moonlight Tales add-on and patch, the MTSE_Global_Appearance has been set to a constant value of 0, making the player skin system irrelevant. Regarding the Mini version, I had made an unsuccessful attempt to edit one of the scripts to swap the player's headparts after transforming, based on the skin you've chosen. After all, I think you're supposed to use the fomod of the original Elegant Werewolf Replacer to install textures of your choice, to customize your own werewolf, especially if you have DWC. Either way, I've posted the modified source code in the miscellaneous section for anyone to take a look at it.
  • I'm personally intending to keep this mod SFW so that anyone can have access to it. However, if anyone else would like to create patches for mods like CF/MNC/SOS/HDT/etc, give me a heads-up.
  • Also, if there's any modded werewolf NPC/follower you'd like me to convert to use the new models, let me know!

Installation:
  • You can simply download the archive and install with programs like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2, and pick the desired options.
  • But first you need to install the Elegant Werewolf Replacer fomod for the base werewolf textures, at least the optional lightweight file.
  • (If you use the full installer just for customization, don't install the standalone replacer plugin. It may conflict with the NakedTorsoWerewolfBeast armor addon in my main plugin)
