TBF, some armies did at times have contests of champions. Granted these were either small skirmishes, pre-arranged, or often preludes to bigger battles, intimidation and all that
Not quite what I meant, but I guess I'll find out eventually with my current playthrough and report back if this mod works. Here's a rundown:
After the AE update patch, completing this quest can cause the following with great frequency: graphics issues, loading screens that fail to end, and crashes. Reloading a save before the battle portion of this quest can fix this, but completing the quest will cause it to happen again.
This bug may be fixed by storing the armor somewhere (i.e. a chest or display). It appears that being equipped or just in one's inventory (including companions) can cause these glitches.
Possible Fix (tested on PS5): Save after battle then loot gear. After first attempted fast travel from the battle site at end of battle, unending loading screen should occur. When this happens, close game and restart. Loot gear, then walk to a location in a new cell with item storage (like a home), Myrwatch is a verified working location. Store all items from this quest inside a container, then leave home and make new save. Close Skyrim and restart game. Associated bugs should stop, items should be retrievable and usable without further issue.
However, according to reports on reddit, it's still unclear on whether or not if it's the quest itself that's bugged, or possibly some of the gear, hence the bits about placing the gear in containers on the USEP page.
I had an idea why not add character dialogue at the beginning of quests with CC, for example you can ask the owner of the tavern what's new and he will say, the Stendarr Hammer of has appeared in the Markarth
Thanks for this been managing CC content all day this is exactly what I was looking for. I'm definitely going to think twice before buying CC content even if its on sale I don't know who at Bethesda though it was good to give op armor so easily
I was looking through nexus to integrate this last piece of cc a month ago, thanks for making this !
with creation club reintegrated, alternative cc armors and reduced cut mods I think all the poor quality cc quests are integrated thanks to modding community.

Just ignore them.
