Replacing an older version with this one works without issues, no new save needed.
Fixed an issue with the elven and orc versions of the meshes that was set to default race and then had the elven and orc races, which could cause the wrong mesh from showing up for orcs and elves.
Added a slot 43 (ears slot) version of the meshes after request. They are not used in the mod but are for other mods which want the bandages to show up even if a character is wearing a helmet.
Cleaned up the mod a bit, all the new additional mesh and texture path info in Xedit shows up correctly. It used to be that the info said it was using a bunch of textures from a circlet. Now it says that it uses the head bandage texture and normal map as it should.
Changed the name of the left side meshes from Head bandages (Alternate) to Head bandages - Left
Rebuilt the mod from scratch so it can easily be used as a resource by other mods when needed.
Resource version with just the meshes to make it easy for creators of other mods.
A Skyrim Legendary edition version of the mod now exists :)
Version 1.1
Refinded the main male and female bandage meshes.
Changed capitalization of Head Bandages back to Head bandages like it is in vanilla Skyrim.
Version 1.0
Adds 22 new meshes to make the ingame bandages a fully working items. 10 for each side and 1 ground object for each side.
Adds the needed keywords which Frostfall and Campfire inject into Update.esm into the mod to prevent patchers like Synthesis and Dyndolod from having issues if there is an form pointing at a non existing Keyword if you don't have those mods installed. Thanks Styxxus!
Adds 6 new armor pieces and edits the regular vanilla bandage. Currently only 2 of those have crafting recipes, one is a duplicate of the vanilla edits to make my life easier and the rest are and the rest are for future updates because I'm trying to get this out today.
Adds 6 Crafting crafting recipes, 3 are for Campfire and 3 are for the regular tanning rack.
Ever noticed how injured soldiers can wear head bandages but not you?! When I needed them to work on any of my characters, they did not and I didn't find anything else which makes them work like a clothing item normally does.
Wearing them has been done before but a fix to the real problem has to exist, right?
I made the missing meshes needed to fix the problem. So players, argonians, elves, orcs, khajiit and everyone else can finally wear one on their head.
Want one on the right or the left? Now you can.
INSTRUCTIONS
One Linen Wrap at a tanning rack gives you one head bandage.
Wearing a bandage on your head while using a tanning rack gives you the option to switch sides on the bandage.
CAMPFIRE INSTRUCTIONS With Campfire installed you can make a bandage or switch sides of the one you got, anywhere.
One Linen Wrap using the create item power = one head bandage.
Wearing a bandage on your head while using the create item ability gives you the option to switch sides on the bandage.
DETAILS
Elves, Orcs, Khajiit and Argonians now have bandages that work and fit on their head.
Usable by the player and has a right and left version.
Uses an actual bandage mesh for inventory and ground object. Skyrim normally used the Greybeard's hood for this.
Enchantable and used in place of a circlet. They always were but now you can actually use them.
ESL-flagged and does not count towards your mod limit.
Campfire & Frostfall support is built-in, but they are not required.
Made at a tanning rack or with Campfire's crafting system.
Vanilla plus. Made to feels like it was always part of the game.
INSTALLATION
Preferably use a mod manager to install the mod.
COMPATIBILITY
The mod changes ClothesHeadBandages (the regular Skyrim head bandages) to add new armor addons which then add new models to their respective races, while keeping the original armor addon and old models untouched. That way if a mod bypasses ClothesHeadBandages and uses those directly it will still work the way it used to.
It's a good compromise to ensure that mods don't need to be patched. A simple mesh replacer is impossible because the affected races have very different head shapes and one mesh does not fit all. If mods use the normal ClothesHeadBandages, they get my meshes, if not they get the old ones.
The models all use the same texture paths and texture layout as the regular Skyrim head bandage models so anything which works with those works great with mine.
Rustic Clothing is highly recommended if you're looking to improve its textures.
