Doing God's work as usual Grok. Are you planning on making one megamod with all the changes, similar to what rage did with his Sensible Tweaks? Hilarious just how many things need to be changed, as evidenced by the wealth of mods already.
Im so disappointed by the game that I will likely stop modding it and return working on GAMMA.
The stalker 2 economy and open world mechanics suck. The world and narratives are good, but the fights are terrible and the economy is pretty bad. The game needs armor and repair items, spending all your money to repair your armor is stupid.
Understandable, but I really hope Stalker 2 will be a good base and sandbox to eventually get mods for an improved economy, loot/item diversity, AI direction/behaviour and more depth. To me, the game does many aspects just right, but completely fumbles on the aforementioned mechanics, which hurts the immersion and feel of progression. I am still in midgame, but the dumb armor repair (and upgrade) costs already seem to become tedious. Investing currency into weapons and gear is such a huge commitment, that only the longterm viable investments can be considered, which means playing with non-upgraded gear and an unwillingness to try out the new non-modded loot, degrading its usefulness. Imo, that part is quite badly implemted.
Economy can be fixed with 1 mod. Is it a reason to hate game that much? Lol? What do you mean open world mechanics? Be more specific? How is Gamma better with open world mechanic ? Becace it doesnt have any or whut? :D Pretty sure with soon coming updates & modes stalker 2 is better than gamma... Some streamers say it is alot better than gamma as it is now & i agree.
Stalker 2 has: no Alife, no reason to explore but collect consumables to sell in order to repair your armor, empty areas that are only filled with NPCs later in the story, etc. But it has some well made story moments (based on someone who just lost his… apartment, waw)… which get completely bugged after a given point in the story.
GAMMA has everything you expect from a stalker game: alife and random encounters, actual gameplay mechanics and systems pushing you to explore the world, move between maps, etc. An actual sense of progression. But it has no interesting stories (yet).
The two games are radically different and not catered to the same crowd. GAMMA will provide you stuff that STALKER 2 likely never will and vice versa. I just can’t recommend STALKER 2 in its current state: just wait 6 months for patches and mods.
Yeah . Sounds about right , gotta agree i guess. But i hope it can get better with mods? Or future updates. To be more specific i hope all of this can be solved fully or at least mostly with mods updates -_- Last patch was fixing mutants & economy . The things ppl complaining most about. So it seems devs are listening to community & trying to fix things more less fast. Good sign)
I play Anomaly - but might have a look at Gamma - but my favorite Stalker world is OGSR - except that it doesn't include levels that are in Anomaly and Gamma etc. IMO the PERFECT Stalker game would be Anomaly/Gamma with the levels and quests of OGSR - ie. the dead city bar etc. I was author of the original Normal Accuracy PLUS for SoC (ie. extended the random hit probablility distance) - and did Chuppa Clear Sky. Unreal engine LOOKS nice, but the way configs work really show how great Xray actually is IMO.
stalker 2 a has all that?? a life is at least somewhat back and lets not pretend youd actually be able to tell much since it took many people myself included like 40 hours to notice, its simply not the backbones of the game, it is however the backbone of an empty bareley thought out mod openworld mod callled anomaly. Stalker 2 has plenty of progression in terms of story and skif, i think its actually moving too fast, gamma on the other hand has you having a purposfully terrible weapon for at least 7 hours and at best 3 when you know exactly hat youre doing. A real shame stalker 2 isnt grindy enough. i agree that gunfights are not nearly as good as they could be, gore and better ai would go a long long way, but if were comparing to gamma then wth are you talking about mr u didnt use ap ammo so though luck. the economy is awful in stalker 2 it punishing and just annoying, ammo is way too expensive limiting your freedom, but ooooooh boy gamma is soooooo much better, gamma really makes you hate capitalism and buying 5 diffrent health items to not die every 5 minutes for all your savings, love that part. the armor repair system is bad but easily fixed with 1 mod that cuts cost by 75%, gamma on the other hand is so needlessly obtuse and annoying that in 40 hours of playing gamma i could never be bothered to learn it, because why learn a new waaaayyyy too grindy game mechanic when you can just fund new armor and save your brain cells. The idea behind stalker 2 probably was that you should spend all your money on maintaining gear, so that you progress and scavenge items while exploring the zone and it works for me. Gamma dev doesnt understand game design WHAT THE HELL -.- who saw this one coming????????
Its not like theres any world where you would have enjoyed stalker 2, gamma is probably ur baby, there wont be anything to replace that unless you make it. Do wait on stalker 2 tho it will only get better from here, i recommend puting it aside it isnt going anywhere after all.
I'm not sure if it actually causes issues or not, but if you use vortex with your mod, it adds both .pak files. Other mods with choices (like Painter of the Zone Better Blood Wallmarks) has a choice in the UI of vortex to choose which file to use, or just have separate downloads. I'd recommend doing so here if you could. Thank you for the work!
Have not seen a single enemy grenade thrown since I installed the mod (the standard one, not the even lesser version). But I think I will keep it installed anyway
I open the mod and looks like an incorrect number type was used - in the original it was 1.f, now it is 0.5 (without f - which defines the float number)- I guess it doesn't work this way and because of that the grenades are broken completely. I would suggest to not use this mod.
Or maybe just leave the MaxScore at default, but increase the minimum cooldown? Then they'll probably often start with a grenade but then throw them much less often afterward. Eh, but then if you're fighting multiple enemies, they'd all start by throwing a grenade each, which would still suck.

Updated to 1.2: fixed the folder structure, the mod will work now, sorry about this.

Sad but better than throwing grenades every 2 seconds
