Version 2.3.1 Early Access – Modular Overhaul Update This update brings a reimagined foundation for the mod!
The Base Game Weathers (Clear, Cloudy) and Emissions have been rebuilt from scratch, inspired by my personal vision and made more atmospheric, grounded, and immersive.
All 3 Custom Weather have been tweaked further and basically remade with higher quality in mind.
Darker Nights are now part of the core experience — explore with caution.
You can now customize your install with optional add-ons, including:
Realistic Sun Path – matches real-world sun trajectory.
Brighter Nights – 3 levels of added brightness for players who prefer more visibility at night.
Installation Guide
Required: Install 0 - MAIN MOD - Dynamic Weather Overhaul
Optional Modules (Choose Any):
1 - Optional - Base Weathers Overhaul
1 - Optional - Immersive Emissions Overhaul
Add-Ons (Install Any, But Only One Brighter Nights File):
2 - Addon - Realistic Sun Path
2 - Addon - Brighter Nights Modules (Pick only one brighter nights version to avoid conflicts.)
You can mix and match, but a full install should never exceed 16 files total. Let me know how it runs for you, and thank you for testing this early version!
If you are having issues with weather, for example, endless weather or constantly repeating weather (be it clear or rainy, etc). Please try the following:
Go in the game, press F10 then type the following commands: XSetWeatherLocked 0 then XSwitchToWeather 0. (This will start a weather transition so be patient as the weather cycles into clear weather)
This will make the game switch to clear weather, and should hopefully allow for the dynamic weather system to continue working properly
You can also try using XSwitchToWeather 2 to start a foggy weather, in the case you have not seen foggy weather at all (Seems like it needs to be triggered to be added into the pool of weathers)
If you have visual issues, please Remember to rebuild your shaders if you have any mods/ini tweaks which disable Shader/Materials warm up. Like the UE Tools and the various Ini Tweaks. You can disable it after rebuilding them once.
These issues are base game bugs, and my mod tried to fix or at least mitigate these issues, but truth is that endless weather bugs are tied to quest/region triggers that set the weather lock state to true.
I am very happy with the latest version, you did an amazing job. Darker nights are also fantastic and work very well in HDR. Vanilla nights were way too bright with HDR enabled
Im using the HDR Tone mapping from RenoDX, which fixes the weird brightness/saturation issue with vanilla HDR and for me its already pitch-black. Of course, it also depends on the weather: I had some dark blue-ish nights (sky blue-ish rest black in Burnt Forest) but also pitch black nights where I literally didnt see anything without my flashlight (currently in Malachite).
When I disabled RenoDX's HDR, the pitch black night was more visible, just to give you a heads-up :) Im using the default settings for RenoDX.
(Im using normal darker nights, no brighter-nights module)
Hi! Sorry if it was already asked but what do "Regional Weather Diversity" and "Unpredictable Atmospherics" in description actually mean? I always thought it would be cool if in the regions closer to the center (ChNPP) there were much more cloudy and rainy weather and very rare sunny to actually make you feel you're in a more dangerous area (which was in the original games)... I love how gloomy and heavy the rain clouds feel in the game but I think I never actually saw ChNPP with that weather which killed atmosphere for me... Thanks a lot for your work, looking forward to a reply 🙂
It's exactly what you described. Red forest, burnt forest, the cooling towers with the fire tornado, duga, etc have very specific and unstable weathers, for example the storms and rainstorms. I also added a timer to guarantee that these areas see more of specific weather's after a while.
Hi really really Great Mod. I am impressed and even shock what hapening in Zone. OMG. First class. Best mod what Im tested from Nexus. Really. Like Im said, "still exist pople who work with soul". You keep the ward. Thx. Regards.
Hey, nice mod. With last version 2.2.5 I have strange issue, I have very dark nights, it so dark even with flashlight it nothing to see. I use Ultra+ mod.
Yes new version will have very dark nights. I will release files to brighten the nights as well with the final release. You can also make the nights a bit brighter with U+ and increasing gamma a bit. Just go to the Ultra+ launcher and use the Scene Brightness option.
If it's still way to dark please let me know, I'll try to balance it.
Is it at all possible to make nights darker? I remember people complained about them in the past but I actually loved the almost pitch-black nights of the older STALKER games.
Either way, great mod. I can't wait to see how you continue to build on it!
Its not a perfect solution, but with a LensAttenuation of 0.5, nights got a lot darker. I adjusted it to 0.55 because I think this was a good balance between darker nights and somewhat visible interiors. Still, I do agree that an optional file for even darker nights would be fantastic
Hi this version works good, exelent work Stalker :) but is different now, lot of fog, morning, noon, evening also. Im use beta Is a very good, this cycles they are longer, emissions mixed with storms is a also super. Just I want to say, maybe make two diferent version. For Me (personally ofcourse) beta version is better one, work great, nothing for to say :) realy klimatic, maybe keeped apart and update with time because is great. And second one, this last one "Foggy" of more mistic :) like a new one. Im afraid if You make now new version this old gona be lost (I mine beta version) What You think. Thx for listening anyway. HDR makes the night too bright.
Then I realise that it's just the pre-release beta version.
(just a joke. Your mod is amazing)
