Works pretty good, using stable version. Didnt notice that much of a difference, is the "unstable" version any better? if it is, why? I like this mod, tysm for your work!
It doesn't work well. When making edits to a file, the sound of rain is constantly cut off. the sounds of gunfire and explosions around the corner of the house are muffled so that it seems they are somewhere 500 meters away. Well, and some other small things. When I removed the edits, everything returned to normal. The sound card I have is Sound Blaster Z.
Yeah cool concepts but I have had audio cut out like standing in a doorway and one minute you can hear the rain next minute nothing. Been hearing blood suckers and they sound 10 feet away (one time I couldn't even get eyes on to verify, another time I was at the sand pit and the darn thing was on the other side of the pit - something like 600 meters. The gunshots the ai were unloading were normal sounding but the blood sucker sounded like he was about to pounce me).
Edit: Having removed the modded lines I still get this issue so I suspect this is a vanilla issue?
I've noticed this, there is noticeable stutters with this, where there wasn't before, and I've been tinkering and testing my games performance for a while. Is there a way to enable just SOME of the 3d panning and sound occlusion, without it causing stutters of the more advanced spatial audio?
Epic Games is actually adding a feature called Ray-Traced audio though in a future version of UE5, and NVIDIA has a feature called Ray-Traced Voices or whatever for microphones.
So ray-tracing now kinda just represents something being real time and having life-like accuracy
FYI, ray-tracing just means it simulates a ray (beam/line) out from something and tracks where that ray goes. For lighting, it simulates a bunch of rays out from a light source and tracks what they hit so the light can bounce off walls and stuff. For audio, it does the same thing but instead of simulating rays from a light source, it does it from an audio source. Same tech, different application.
I have and thats why i asked. Do i just need to copy all the txt in your's 'Engine.ini' and paste it in to that already existing 'Engine'? Will that work?
Its a known thing right that now steam versions dont use the engine.ini file.
And you need to be putting this in GameSettings instead, the fact the mod author doesn't know that, and isn't directing people to proper installs.
You clearly didn't even test if this worked in your game or not, because you'd know that if you did, another fodder mod reaching for download statistics.
Not just that but who's to say this doesn't break certain sounds, this is certainly not tested if there's not even a correct installation method provided like what another user suggested here, but we'll ignore them and reply to a engine ini comment instead.
You need to add things to GameUserSettings.ini for steam users, which is most people using mods.
Just came to laugh at the guy (Mojo) so confidently stating the mod was untested and Steam version doesn't use this or that, and blah, blah, blah without himself seeing if his own claim was reasonable enough to just run away with it or not.
It's amazing to me how many people will get online and pop off about s#*! like they're THE GUY to consult when they're not just wrong, but so quickly and effortlessly demonstrably wrong. Like, if they put same amount of time/effort into investigating their own claim instead of immediately posting it for the world to see, they would almost certainly have realized they were obviously mistaken.
I'm sure I've done this too at some point. IDK. It's just fascinating to me at this point how often this seems to happen on Nexus. Will the guy ever come back to even bother apologizing? I doubt it. He's probably too busy stroking himself off to the thought of how correct he thinks he was, getting the big, bad, evil mod author that was trying to... post mods to improve the game?! LMAO, I'm sorry, I can't with these people ππ€£ππ€£ππ€£.
@TheHybred you were much more diplomatic in your response to that guy than I'd be. Kudos to you, my friend <3
Hello. In my version of the game (GOG) there is no Engine.ini file and from the experience of other mods (optimization via Engine.ini) there is a feeling that this version of the game does not use this file, as an option in the forums they suggest inserting settings into GameUserSettings.ini. What do you think about this? Can you recommend a line (setting) with clearly overstated values ββ(and say what the effect will be), so that after starting the game I will clearly notice it (to check if my Engine.ini works)
Can you recommend a line (setting) with clearly overstated values ββ(and say what the effect will be), so that after starting the game I will clearly notice it (to check if my Engine.ini works)
(that can add an absolutely inflated value to Engine.ini to check that the file is working, there are a lot of messages on the forums that the file is not being processed and everyone is arguing about it)
Looks like a really good mod a must have , someone can tellme the fps cost? im in a unconsistent lopp with my fps in gamepass version, so im bit afraid to try it , thanks anyway
Was my question deleted or did it seem that way to me? I have a bug, the sound of the "Electra" anomaly disappeared. Could any of the lines affect this? I use Stable version
UPD: For some reason, the rest of the anomalies encountered had sound, apparently it was a bug or I donβt know.

From the engine.ini file:
[/Script/Engine.AudioSettings]
au.EnableBinauralAudioForAllSpatialSounds=1
bAllowCenterChannel3DPanning=True
bEnableBinauralRendering=True
au.EnableSoundOcclusion=1
au.SpatializationMethod=2
bEnableHRTF=True
[/Script/AkAudio.AkSettings]
bEnableMultiCoreRendering=True
I'm gonna test some more.

Yes Steam does not create an Engine.ini file, but if you make one there the game will read it.
My performance mod does this and the game runs faster. I play on Steam

I didn't have one either (Steam version) and I just pasted this Engine.ini in the folder and it works.
Another audio mod is also saying to create the Engine.ini if you don't have it
