for me the reflections are weird, when I look directly at the objects in the reflections (water/windows) are weird, but when looking at the reflection while seeing the object/tree etc at the same time, the reflections are better looking. https://imgur.com/a/uFE9ul4 Is there any way of fixing it? If yes, I assume that there will be a performance drop, right?
Really like it but it might be a bit too much, looking at a Road while/after it was/is Raining. When you look strait down at a Reflection it's amazing. But the at the Edges and Looking Down and Away on a Wet Road, it's polished Aluminum.
I'm going to try the command you suggested below for Shimmer on Guns, r.Lumen.TranslucencyReflections.FrontLayer.Allow=1 .
Not sure how to describe it, their wet heads look almost like chrome Take a look at the Screenshot, running everything at max 7950X3D, suprim x 4090, 128 gig ddr5 6000 . https://imgur.com/a/roads-look-much-better-after-removing-frontlayer-O1jmEMT.
Ugg, it became too bright and removed all the lines as a test. This is what I ended up with, any chance you recognize this and what might fix it? https://imgur.com/a/became-to-bright-removed-this-is-result-6gDzTCp
Turn off hdr and see if the problem is with hdr cause iam using it and I don't have such a problem Or try this: remove all lines from engine.ini Except this line r.Lumen.Reflections.DownsampleFactor=0
Oh well, may have to start over, it's much worst with HDR off and r.Lumen.Reflections.DownsampleFactor=0 didn't help. I even tried disabling Bloom but with HDR off it's impossible to see anything. With it on it's just annoyingly overbright, without bloom even. I tried Resetting Graphics and Display both to Default, also. I'll just try removing all the mods and maybe Verify my Files, or reinstall for the new patch this week.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Edit: It might have been a mod conflict, after removing everything getting ready to uninstall, tried it. It was very odd, my save suddenly turned to night, from almost blinding light. It but if it's ok once daylight hits might be back in the Stalker 2 business.
Try lowering this line to 0.3 r.Lumen.Reflections.MaxRoughnessToTrace=0.6
Or whatever you like it will fix that Lower will fix it better but water reflections will become less noticeable
There is something odd going on with Radeon cards since reflections are much better even if you remove parameter line which is suppose to modify roughness. Even though it would make sense them not to be so sharp if the parameter line is removed. Tested with shader cache purged from the game and from drivers.
I guess this is some wonky behavior between UE5 and Radeon.... dunno.
Below is what I ended up with after working through what users BrainsColletor and the author Sow22 shared in the posts section. This doesnt have any shimmering on my setup, performs better than the native solution byt about 5fps and most importantly looks much much better. Actual cloud color is reflected and reflections are sharper. r.LumenScene.Radiosity=1 r.Lumen.HardwareRaytracing=1 r.Lumen.Reflections.HardwareRayTracing=1 r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.ShortRangeAO=0 r.Lumen.TranslucencyReflections.FrontLayer.Enable=1 r.Lumen.Reflections.Temporal=0 r.Lumen.Reflections.SmoothBias=1 r.Lumen.Reflections.DownsampleFactor=0 r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.Temporal.MaxFramesAccumulated=64 r.Lumen.TranslucencyReflections.FrontLayer.Allow=1 r.Lumen.TranslucencyReflections.FrontLayer.Enable=1 r.Shadow.FilterMethod=1 r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=4096 r.Shadow.MaxResolution=4096 r.Shadow.DistanceScale=1.5 r.Shadow.CSMDepthBias=1 r.Shadow.Virtual.smrt.samplesperraydirectional=3 r.Shadow.Virtual.smrt.texelditherscalelocal=10 r.Shadow.Virtual.Enable=1 r.Tonemapper.Quality=5
This fixes the noise for me but it actually looks TOO good, it's showing reflections on EVERYTHING lol how can I tone it down some?
Edit: I guess the sircaa building is known to have tons of issues with reflections but these settings helped, the original mod settings didn't do anything for me
Much appreciate the post! using your setting made a HUGE improvement on Circa building. MUCH needed. (file provided here did nothing for me) I did reduce some of the settings as reflections were too accurate.
That'll be lumen (the ambient lighting and reflection system) and most likely it's screen traces, try adding this to the end of your Engine.ini file located at "%localappdata%\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows", this will disable the reflection screen traces.
r.Lumen.Reflections.ScreenTraces=0
If that doesn't fix it then it may be the lighting screen traces which can be disabled by adding this.
So, would me running this mod be better then me not running this mod and instead having shadows at low settings? I am just trying to squeeze the performance out of my game and don't really want to install a mod which actually reduces fps I can gain from low settings
My buddy (im the troubleshooter of the crew) only has configs/WinGDK, not configs/Windows. Is this a negligible difference or is this a gamepass issue? Thanks for the mod (even if we cant check it out yet)
What line can i add to reduce the eye adpatation effect? When I go in doors it looks like the surface of the sun outdoors, then you walk out and it become dusk....
Anybody with insight into reflections able to help me figure out if theres a way to keep reflections from disappearing while looking down? I assume because the sky isn't rendered while looking away from it, there's just nothing to reflect? I have edited my settings, they're not based 100% off this mod. Example: https://youtu.be/Tmc27UcgfT8
That happens because its software ray tracing not hardware that kind of reflection is only for hardware ray tracing I don't know why developers don't use it cause both methods are have same performance but hardware reflection looks way better so that's not a problem , that's normal And that's the reason that developers using blurry filters on reflections because they want to hide that problem

r.Lumen.TranslucencyReflections.FrontLayer.Allow=1
This line is path traced direct lighting like alan wake 2 and it have lots of noise unless you people use dlss ray reconstruction or removing the line
r.Lumen.Reflections.MaxRoughnessToTrace=0.6

Similar FPS with way cleaner reflections.
Thanks mate.

And remove this line
r.Lumen.TranslucencyReflections.FrontLayer.Allow=1
r.EyeAdaptation.ExponentialTransitionDistance=2
r.EyeAdaptation.LensAttenuation=0
I know its one of these two, logically, the distance would be how far you go towards the indoors / outdoors ?
