Real Longer Days 2.2.0

Overview
In game version 1.2, the day and night had effectively the same time speed. This meant night-time and day-time progressed at identical rates and spanned equal in-game durations. Some players enjoyed this balanced approach; however, latest game versions shifted to faster 8-hour night vs. slower 16-hour day cycle. This mod now uses a uniform time speed for both day and night—no more faster nights. Faster Nights are still available as a legacy download.

This mod overhauls the day/night cycle pacing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
You can now choose how long an in-game day lasts in real-time, with versions for:
1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24 real-time hours.

Perfect for players who want full control over pacing, whether you prefer quick days or long, immersive ones.

Compatibility
This mod is not compatible with other mods that modify the following asset:
Stalker2\Content\_STALKER2\GameDesign\Time\TimeCoefCurve.uasset
Which should be compatible with any other mod.

File/Folder Structure & Installation

  • Main MOD is located inside the Real Longer Days folder.
  • Choose your desired length (e.g. 1 Hour, 3 Hours, 4 Hours, 6 Hours, 12 Hours, etc).
  • Extract the files (3 files total) from that sub-folder into:
    ...\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods
  • If ~mods folder doesn’t exist, create it.
Verifying It's Working
  • Load into the game.
  • Open your PDA and watch the clock.
  • You should see that time moves slower than vanilla, depending on your chosen coefficients.
Uninstalling:
Simply remove the 3 corresponding files from your ~mods folder to revert to vanilla day/night.

Legacy Version: Faster Nights (No support)The game originally has:
  • 8 hours of Night (22:30–06:30).
  • 16 hours of Day (06:30–22:30).
  • Night has a speed up rate of 1.3x.
  • Daytime has a slowdown rate of 0.75x.
For the 1× baseline (This is vanilla Night speed as base)Night Coefficient = 1.3 so that night passes slightly faster than real time.
We then compute DayCoefficient = NightCoefficient / R to maintain your chosen night:day ratio (R).
(Note: For 4:3 and 6:5, setting Night=1.3 at 1× would push the DayCoefficient above 0.75, but since we no longer restrict day to 0.75, that’s fine.
Just understand that day can become somewhat faster than it would be on vanilla otherwise.)

For larger stretches (1.5×, 2×, 4×), both Night and Day coefficients are uniformly scaled down to slow in-game time:
  • 1.5× total day → multiply by 2/3 (≈0.6667).
  • 2× total day → multiply by 1/2 (0.5).
  • 4× total day → multiply by 1/4 (0.25).
This keeps the ratio the same but makes each in-game hour take longer in real-time, resulting in a more “stretched” day/night cycle.
Heads Up
  • 4:3 ratio at 1× with Night=1.3 yields Day=0.975, which is above 0.75. That means daytime is faster than “vanilla baseline” day could be.
  • Similarly, 6:5 ratio at 1× leads to Day=1.0833 if Night=1.3, so day is quite brisk.
  • Very long days (e.g. 4× with high ratios) can cause unforeseen issues. I recommend trying 1.5× or 2× for a balanced experience.
