Feliche's Time Overhaul

Prior to game version 1.2, the day and night were effectively the same length (a 1:1 ratio). This meant night-time and day-time progressed at identical rates and spanned equal in-game durations. Some players enjoyed this balanced approach; however, recent versions shifted to a 8-hour night vs. 16-hour day cycle. You can also find in the mod a 1:1 ratio prior to 1.2

Overview
Welcome to my Time Overhaul Mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl!
This mod adjusts the game’s time flow (day/night cycle) to create more immersive and configurable pacing.
You can pick from various night-to-day ratios and total day time stretches so that:
  • Your in-game night can last longer or shorter, according to your preference.
  • Your in-game day can be sped up or slowed down.
  • You can experiment with total day lengths of 1×, 1.5×, 2×, or 4×.
Compatibility
This mod is not compatible with other mods that modify the following asset:
Stalker2\Content\_STALKER2\GameDesign\Time\TimeCoefCurve.uasset
Which has no compatibility issues with any other mod.

File/Folder Structure & Installation
I have organized the mod into folders by Night:Day ratio. Within each ratio folder, there are sub-folders for the time stretch (1×, 1.5×, 2×, or 4×). Please note that the ratio corresponds to a coefficient which speeds up the time. For example, 2:1 means double the speed coefficient at night relative to daytime. This has a exponential effect the lower the values get!
  • Choose your desired ratio (e.g. 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 4:3, or 6:5).
  • Inside that ratio’s folder, pick your desired day stretch factor (1×, 1.5×, 2×, or 4×).
  • Extract the files (3 files total) from that sub-folder into:
    ...\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods
  • If ~mods folder doesn’t exist, create it.
Verifying It's Working
  • Load into the game.
  • Open your PDA and watch the clock.
  • You should see that time moves slower than vanilla, depending on your chosen coefficients.
Uninstalling:
Simply remove the 3 corresponding files from your ~mods folder to revert to vanilla day/night.

How It Works
The game originally has:
  • 8 hours of Night (22:30–06:30).
  • 16 hours of Day (06:30–22:30).
  • Night has a speed up rate of 1.3x.
  • Daytime has a slowdown rate of 0.75x.
For the 1× baseline (This is vanilla Night speed as base)Night Coefficient = 1.3 so that night passes slightly faster than real time.
We then compute DayCoefficient = NightCoefficient / R to maintain your chosen night:day ratio (R).
(Note: For 4:3 and 6:5, setting Night=1.3 at 1× would push the DayCoefficient above 0.75, but since we no longer restrict day to 0.75, that’s fine.
Just understand that day can become somewhat faster than it would be on vanilla otherwise.)

For larger stretches (1.5×, 2×, 4×), both Night and Day coefficients are uniformly scaled down to slow in-game time:
  • 1.5× total day → multiply by 2/3 (≈0.6667).
  • 2× total day → multiply by 1/2 (0.5).
  • 4× total day → multiply by 1/4 (0.25).
This keeps the ratio the same but makes each in-game hour take longer in real-time, resulting in a more “stretched” day/night cycle.

Coefficient Table
Below is a quick reference of the Night and Day coefficients for each ratio at each time stretch. Smaller coefficients mean slower in-game time, thus longer real-time day/night.)

Heads Up
  • 4:3 ratio at 1× with Night=1.3 yields Day=0.975, which is above 0.75. That means daytime is faster than “vanilla baseline” day could be.
  • Similarly, 6:5 ratio at 1× leads to Day=1.0833 if Night=1.3, so day is quite brisk.
  • Very long days (e.g. 4× with high ratios) can cause unforeseen issues. I recommend trying 1.5× or 2× for a balanced experience.

Enjoy the Zone!
