I thought it would be bad as these hdr mods usually are [color calibrated LG OLED G4 65 inch reference] But this one is pure poison The fact that game itself sets contrast at 75 is insane for HDR. with 55 contrast -1 black (-10 is *ludicrous*) and 13 gamma game looks perfect in a dark room on my G4 OLED. With this it looks like clown - do you recall a trend of "deep frying" memes back in good old days?
This is stalker deep fried HDR Alternative name would be "just worse HDR"
Hi! Maybe it just looks horrible on your setup for some reason. Do us a favor and pull up the tool I included, hotkey is SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW. Show us what the graphs look like for your game. I made this specifically using data from that diagnostics tool, so it would be useful to give us all a better idea what you're seeing.
This most certainly doesn't look deep fried in the slightest on my setup, it's quite subtle, but yours may be completely different. Do you have any other HDR things running in the background? (Nvidia, etc) Edit: It even looks good on my other OLED too, so there's probably something off with your setup. Willing to help tho if you're nice)
Mind telling me how you calibrated your HDR image? If done manually no need to elaborate further, if done using tools like displayCal and e.g XRite Hardware or similar hardware solutions, I'm all ears.
Last I checked there was no reliable way to calibrate HDR.
Here's some educational video about HDR implementation in stalker

Pretty much stock settings are on point. If something is wrong it's with monitor settings then. I'm using Alienware 3225, so it's pretty much the same panel as OP (any 2024 QDOLED are the same panels, it's just implementations around a little different but 95% the same)
Contrast: 75 - don't touch
Brightness: 45 = 950nit / 55 = 1500nit / 60 = 2000nit , so this setting should be around 45-50 if you are looking for perfect match with monitor peak brightness of 1000nit and then operate with HDR brighness, so if you have 600nit or trueblack400 (which is true scam mode and just SDR+ at best, don't use it) lower brightness and increase HDR brightness.
Gamma: 15 - it changes gamma of SDR content like inventory, so adjust it to check pattern on right, should be around 11-15 which should change stalker logo on left to barely visible.
black point: -4 - leave as is, lower than 4 crushes blacks, higher breaks HDR
HDR white point: 1000 - don't touch
HDR brightness: 20-30 - decides how bright is middle floor of HDR
What bothers me with this game, that SDR gives good overall balance but HDR makes nights bright, interiors pitch black and storms as bright as nights.
Ah u right, sry. I uploaded it to Nexus here under the misc section then forgot to update that link. Will fix, one sec. :p Edit: DONE. Zip file's uploaded to the folder proper now, ty!
The smol alterations made with the sharpening and saturation pull the min and max nits into line across the board when combined with the settings I mentioned. Big adjustments made via ingame settings, and fine tuned with the tiniest amount of reshade possible to keep it from going over 1000 nits, while not crushing black levels

Looks pretty much the same on both for me.
