This mod raises thrown grenade impact/collision sounds. In certain situations ive been in, i didnt even know a grenade landed next to me. This mod helps us to hear them more often. +5db is probably good enough for most people wanting more 'Tink'. +10db works but its almost immersion breaking. it actually may come in handy for some people though. there are a LOT of sound files to deal with in this game. grenade impact sounds are no exception. i edited 103 of them for this mod. there were more but only messed with the small files. i raised all 103 of those small files 5db and 10db. the larger files sounded like grenades rolling around and stuff, not the thrown at you, 'tink tink' sounds. with time, more testing and and input, i should be able to fine tune it more...if needed. there are probably some sounds that shouldn't have been or didn't need editing. finding what is what would take a long time. so, yeah, this is just an initial upload. alterations to come in the future most likely. Install: drop only one, "MoreLoudGrenadeImpactxdb...pak" into "...\STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods" folder.
Any possibility to raise the volume of all the subtle rustling gun FX when you scope in and out of a weapon as well as when you switch to them ? You'd be surprised how much more of a tactile feeling it gives the game.
Also the run & walk rustle, but that might be separated into tons of seperate file combined with different ground materials (grass, gravel, wood, metal, etc).
edit: come to think of it, can you paste a link to an example of at least a good version of what youre talking about? bad too if you can. sounds like you are talking about EFT-ish and GAMMA-ish sounds? i found gun "rattle" files. seems they must use combinations of these for scoping and such. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- locating any of these sound samples in the game files is not a walk in the park. they are not labeled "grenade_sound_1" or something like that. the previous games were kinda like that. finding these are more of a puzzle/game in itself. if i came across those, ill make a note and see what can happen. .. or maybe im just dumb hehehe and yeah there are a sht ton of sound files and even the grenade impact are separated (grass, gravel, wood, metal, water, mud, etc). and once you find them you have to deal with all of that in editing. that actually the easy part. would not have thought so.
someone will do something like that eventually. its not the type of things i do at the moment though. i more like try to fix things in game that annoy the sht out of me. enjoy
Thx! I didn't often even hear where the grenade was dropped before.
A little off top: I've noticed I can always hear mutants heavy breathing from 20-50 meters away (for example bloodsucker or cat), and it completely ruins the atmosphere of the game. Maybe you can tweak those values too? Like changing the sound distance or making them quieter.
i think i saw/heard some people talking about already working on these things. even NPCs can be heard from far. if i bump into any files or anything that deal with that stuff, ill take a look. hope this one helps you :)
