Flashlight customizer and simple mod loader are in paks (not ~mod). This mod's file is in AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\SaveGames. But the flashlight is still as per wimpy vanilla size.
For those that don't have a pop up after typing fl_ui command in console (assuming you're more than positive you've installed all the other crap correctly) TRY PRESSING: RIGHTALT + L Buttons Together! This should pop out the screen where you can manually create your own flashlight presets. From there just manually input the presets numbers mentioned in the comments or tweak it to your own liking... Save your presets, Load it, finally Close the popup when you're done. Check if your flashlights settings are to your liking and save the game. All the convoluted s#*! should load/work henceforth.
The preset does not seem to work. It looks like vanilla, I cannot tell the difference. I know the flashligh mod works because I tried another preset from Nexus and it works fine, screenshots for comparison below or link to screenshots on pCloud.
EDIT Ok, there are several problems in your preset, the numbers do not match those in your post. You should re-create it and upload it correctly.
You're absolutely right, I noticed it myself when I did a reinstall just before the holidays but I was away over Christmas so I didn't have a chance to fix it until now. I figured people would just figure something changed after the patch and manually input the values in the meantime (it's just simply changing like 5 values after all) even though this was definitely something I messed up all on my own.
Anyway it now should work by just dragging into the SaveGames folder, I've also added a Parameters file so the values are available to be put into the ui or engine.ini if needed.
No worries, I changed the numbers myself, I just thought you might not know about the mistake since the files have not been updated for some time, but you being away explains it.
The main change is I raised the attenuation to extend the throw. I also lowered the intensity slightly to match the brightness, lowered the specular to reduce the glare in reflections and finally raised the fall off a little since it was a little brighter than I liked up close.
If you can't get it to work via the console, try adding this to the Engine.ini file in:
Thanks for values. Personally i think falloff should also be increased a bit, like around 12 or something, since light beam gets dispersed over distance and should not have almost same brightness at its max distance as compared to 1-2 meters away. But thats just my personal taste. Also, you better make your post with values a sticky post, or put those values on Description page.
Yeah I get what you mean. I did try higher falloff values but in the end I preferred to have it like this since with higher values it ended up way too bright up close if I wanted to have a light you can use to light up areas at quite a bit of distance. I didn't really do all that much testing though so I'll have to keep tweaking once I find the time to do so, just like with the shadows. And you're right, I probably should include the values for the Engine.ini in the .zip in future versions
That being said, I recently got into custom flashlights so this was always more so aimed to replicate what it feels like to point around a quad emitter light like a D4V2 as opposed to a "standard" flashlight you'd realistically use in a scenario like this.
They coded in so many different parameters with so many possibilities, only to use them to make the world's most Underwhelming Video Game Flashlight in history.
This helped me since dropping your save into the correct file did nothing. I changed intensity to 12 and falloff to 11, looks much better imo. But this is something everyone should tweak as it really does change monitor to monitor, room to room.
OH! I just realized that loading your file through the simple mod loader didn't do a damn thing. My flashlight options were completely different from the ones you posted here, no wonder the 2000 attenuation felt so weird and didn't look as good as in the video you provided. LOL Im so dumb sometimes.
Cant get any commands to work. I dont get why theres only 1 person who made a customized flashlight mod to make flashlights better, but then goes and makes it overly complicated to use..like why? just give us 1 simple mod with a good enough present that doesnt require all manner of consoles and codes. What is this? 2006?
lol, im somewhat agree with you, I always get here to look if there's a better flashlight mod come out yet, but the only one is this, hope they could at least make a tutorial video to show us how to make it work.
You have the Modloader and Console enabler installed, right? And you can get the console to open? Then install the Flashlight Customizer. I installed both via Vortex. I don't know if it's needed but then I opened the console and typed in: mod add /Game/Mods/FLCustomizer/BP_MOD_FLCustomizer.BP_MOD_FLCustomizer_C Then I got the flashlight customizer to show via the fl_ui command
If you use anything other than an English keyboard layout you might have to change the console keybind since none of the default keys seemed to be available on mine. I changed mine to be on F10 by adding this to the Input.ini in AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows
We still don't have the SDK and we're doing wonders bare-bones two weeks after launch, but there will always be some enlightened person who complains that it's not exactly how they'd like it to be. No worries, thanks for the mod!
my recommendation would be to either start paying someone to create the thing you want, or better yet, go make it yourself. everybody making mods is doing it completely for free.
And just like in 2006, we still have ungrateful tools(RexUnrelenting) who think people should work for free and then complain about it when something doesn't suit their particular needs and haven't themselves contributed in any way to the community.
I imagine you use the GamePass version, since that has the savegames in a different location? Unfortunately it seems you can't use the normal version and have to use the workaround method. Check the GAMEPASS section in the Flashlight Customizer readme for more information about that
================================= GAMEPASS/GOG SPECIFIC FAQ ================================= Gamepass is not supported and will never be properly supported. That being said, there are *workarounds*.

Ooc, would Simple Mod Loader conflict with UE4SS?
Downloaded anyway so I can Endorse your work, thanks.
