Describe your problem, what happened and where in the game it was. If you had a crash, only providing a crash log will help.
Hot to get a crash log: 01. Right after the crash press "ctrl+v" in any text field to paste the log from buffer. 02. Game has a file named "fs_game.ltx". It can be opened as txt file. $app_data_root$ shows where your user data is stored. 03. Open "logs", log files can be opened as txt file. Scroll down and copy everything after "FATAL ERROR".
Be sure you checked ReadMe, common crashes and issues are listed there.
Don't forget, this mod is not compatible with ANY other files beside vanilla game and mod's addons. Also vanilla saves will not work, you have to start a new game.
Thanks for the mod! I was having a problem with black screening before the Pripyat 1 questline while playing vanilla, losing my mind over trying to fix the problem and this mod did it! Thanks again, greatly enjoy the mod as well.
What is the obsession with some mod authors to make sweeping changes to long standing mods, but not keep the previous versions hosted so that people can enjoy them? I really don't like this update, I vastly preferred 2.0 since it was more of a vanilla+ experience. Could you rehost that version of the mod?
What is the obsession with some mod authors to make sweeping changes to long standing mods
Price of the progress. Many stuff is fixing while development of new versions and some other changes are implied. Hosting older versions for the author is only additional posts about bugs in them, which were fixed in newer versions. Also maintaining many backups are extra hustle. And many authors really believes that older version are outdated.
Same situation happens with the fighting games when newer patch changes the balance and chages the current meta. Many games are swept under the rug after remasters coming out, though the originals subjectively are better. The best example of this is Dark Souls 1, where the lighting and some effects are worse in remaster. Dark Souls 2 Scholar Edition was a massive down (imho), compared to vanilla. Vanilla DS2 can be bought only with DLCs included somewhere in the steam. And there is devision on both matters, somebody like vanillas, others like remasters. New players will not even care about older versions, and looks like older players should keep the versions they like when it is possible.
Currently CS 2.0 is developed, ABR COP will have last 2.2.1 patch soon and that's it. So this is the final form of the mod in the end.
This doesn't actually address my point or my issue. You had a mod that was great for those who wanted a Vanilla+ experience and have replaced it with something that is not at all that. Yet you haven't changed the name and leave no way for those who enjoyed the previous experience to continue doing so.
It would be as simple as leaving both up and having a note about the older version no longer being supported and having bugs. I don't like to make assumptions about people or be rude but looking at your responses to others who take issue with this you come across as defensive and angry over what is genuine disappointment that a once near perfect one stop solution is now something else entirely.
This is not a simple patch for COP ABR, it's pretty much an entirely different mod now that shares the name. It's why I don't like when authors like yourself go back after years and update mods.
Update from 1.0 to 2.0 was much bigger than update from 2.0 to 2.2. Some people already hated 2.0 for not being 1.0. Other said 1.0 is unbalanced and too easy. Somebody thanked me for updating the mod. You say this update is bad and I should keep all 3 versions. But I don't want to keep all 3 versions. I provide the version with the most stability and best performance. I already wanted to make these changes while developing 2.0, but was sticking to vanilla+ idea. After release there was negative towards 2.0 version for being not vanilla+, so I made all the changes I and we wanted to this mod. I don't think previous versions are good enough to be played. They have more bugs and less performance, gradually from past to past versions.
I get your point. You're dissapointed that previous version is purged. But I've shown you the examples that same thing happens everywhere. I am not owe to support tons of versions, I provide the best one we made for now. We, as an authors, think so. You don't agree with that, that's your point of view. Ok. I've got no problems with that. And I understood that some people doesn't care to read readmes, it's easier to ask question for them. May be I was dissapointed a bit too back then. People might forget that modders are people too, not a content machines. Welp, part of the modding then, I guess.
You may not like the content, but it has quality, I always aim to release stable mods. Again, I understand, you want me to host all 3 versions of the mod, but we don't want to. We worked a lot for this version. You think that this mod is not the same mod it was, but we, all three people of development team are thinking this is how the mod should be initially, imagine it was an early access.
And you completely ignored the thing I told you about maintaining different versions, which have bugs and their own issues.
I made my point. You made yours. Too bad you don't like ABR COP anymore. May be you'll find some another mod for you liking. Have a good one.
Fair enough. I can respect that this is your and the other modders vison for the mod. It's not a bad mod, it's a quality mod it's just not the mod I used to recommend and that is disappointing. Lots of people over the years have recommended ABR as a vanilla+ mod and many new players will download this thinking it's CoP as intended, but it no longer resembles that and that irks me. Regardless it's your right to do what you want with your content; it's your hobby after all. I just think you should be more open to understanding why people may be upset and not just dismiss them as "entitled" or "demanding". Take care and stay safe.

Thank you for saving my playthrough, dafrock. Do you have any recommendations for a modpack similar to what this one used to do? I just finished the first two games and was looking for some nice vanilla friendly mods for CoP that just have some bug fixes, updated graphics, and maybe a few QoL changes. No major changes to the story, quests, or how things play out. Kept seeing this mod recommended for first timers, but after looking at what it does now, it's definitely not the same mod I kept seeing recommended.
I can get this author's point of view to an extent, but getting rid of the archive of older versions to spite the people that complained previously is silly. No sane person expects a mod author to support an older version, that doesn't seem like the real reason with how often they're getting upset with anyone that says something slightly critical. Regardless, it's their choice so I'll just write this one off and make sure friends that are almost up to CoP don't almost fall for this one too. There should really be a message in the description though to warn people this isn't the same mod. 🤷♂️
After the launch of Stalker 2, which in my opinion was disappointing both from a technical and a gameplay/story point of view, and a short break from Stalker, I was happy when I came across this mod again, updated, with many improvements.

Be sure you have all needed drivers installed on your OS.
Hey! Great Mod. Btw, i have a question. I can install the graphics mod but the full version? In the description says it´s the lite version, so i want to know. Thank you
It is full version from the start. You need to delete or not copy xpatch_07 - HD Levels Addon.db and xpatch_08 - HD Levels Addon.db to have vanilla levels with less vegetation. If you have those files in your game's patches folder it is full graphics.
Sorry to ask, but I didn't find any info: After the shooting in the mission "Transaction", we kill the dealer and the bandits. The mission says "talk to the stalker leader" which is one of the guys that lead the ambush. He is there, but I cannot talk to him. I press F and no dialog appears. He keeps waking around building. Any clues?
Ok, I reload the mission and apparently the correct order is to kill the trader, then the mission objective changes "to find the trader", you search him and find the PDA, and then talk to the ambush leader
Yeah, I think it happened also in vanilla. I remember now that some missions may become broken if the order the things happen is not exactly as designed.

First comers will decide what is best for them on their own, after trying the mod out.
Anyways, all the best, have happy holidays.
