Thank you for this mod ! It's a super great idea :). As a buttefly enthousiast, I'm in love with having tons of them in my house and greenhouse haha!
I only have a few things I'd like to mention though, they're not bugs persay so I'm commenting them here. - The butterflies tend to end up stuck at the top of the map after a few minutes. - When I tick the Island butterflies option, I have a very few seasonal butterflies (1 or 2, and Im currently in winter). Would be cool to have a balanced mix of seasonal + island butterflies. Or an option to have exclusively the Island butterflies. Or even add butterflies from other seasons.
I have a computer science background, so I could maybe look into that. But I've never programmed mods before so it might take a little time haha. I could definitely do a translation in French though if you'd like :) !

I only spawn butterflies. Everything else is the game, and yes, the game does often have the butterflies movement drift towards the map top over time.

I've never paid very close attention to each individual butterfly indoors with the island butterfly option. I can only set the islandButterfy parameter to true and the rest is the game. That said, those seasonal butterflies are likely spawned by the default game butterfly hutch code. I do not take anything over. I only augment, possibly spawn additional, with my min/max spawn settings. I suppose I could remove the game spawned butterflies in favor of island butterflies in that specific condition. Honestly I am really okay with what it does.
Thank you for the reply! I looked further into your code after my comment and yeah I saw all of that, I'm sorry if it came out wrong, that were only a few suggestions ;-; .. I love the mod, as you said it's already really great as it is now. Thanks again for the good work ! :)
I wonder if Stardrop is simply listing the SMAPI compatibility log info. That list is certainly not updated yet as I only updated the Mod on Nexus hours ago. I checked and that list still lists the mod as broken for 1.6. I'm not sure how often that list gets updated.
I'm working on it. I have made changes for 1.6 and it seems to be working fine but I want to test a bit more before releasing an update. Time is always a thing. I have a number of mods to get going for 1.6. Hopefully in a few days.
Thank you NormanPCN! This is a lovely mod and I'm happy to hear we will be able to keep using it in 1.6. I look forward to the update and thank you so much for all that you do.
Butterflies have been spawning indoors for me. I always have a Butterfly Hutch in the greenhouse. I've not tested the Hutch inside every building type and/or location. Can you give me specifics about where you are not getting butterflies? In theory, anywhere the game actually lets you place a hutch should work. The game will not let you place a hutch in many locations.
I have a save which happens to be in Winter right now. I tried a Hutch in the Greenhouse, Farmhouse, Shed, Coop, Barn, Farm cave, Pierre's shop, mines entrance. Got butterflies in all locations once I left and re-entered the map. The butterflies are spawned on entry. I also shook the hutch as well (right click).
Hey. Thank you! I appreciate the time you took just to assist me.
I tried it inside the greenhouse and the farmhouse during winter, but there are no butterfly spawns. When the season is not winter though, it's working.
I am using StarAmy's Critter Reskin mod. I got a gut feeling that that is the reason, so I just made a quick test, temporarily removing that mod, and my hunch was right!
Thank you, and I apologize for unnecessarily bothering you. I should've investigated further before I made a comment here. I'll report this small issue to StarAmy.
For reference, I spawn butterflies the exact same way, same API, as the vanilla game code does. So if vanilla works, then so should this mod. If the vanilla hutch does not spawn any butterflies, then that also stops this mod from spawning.
Hi, I really love the idea of your mod, but being a android user I'm not able to use this mod until the release of 1.5 update. Do you intend to adapt this mod to the currently android version (1.4.5.151) anytime soon?
No pressure, I'm just really interested in download this mod!
This is perfect. I went out of my way to get a hutch and put it in my greenhouse and never had more than like 2 butterflies on screen at a time. Thank you.
My feelings exactly. I got sick of commonly seeing only a couple of butterflies, so I stopped and whipped this mod up. Since it was now a "mod", I then tried to make it more general with more features. Indoors, outdoors, bat wings, right click to shake hutch and all that guff.
